No other cold or flu symptoms. I can only swallow ice water or ice chips. After 3 days I now have a blistery rash on my hands also. Could this be mono or something else- should I see Dr again?
I had a history of Strep Throat - caught Scarlet Fever, which moved into RF. Does your daughter have a tendency to get Strep? If so, it's important to catch it and treat it with antibiotics immediately. From the time I was diagnosed with RF, I had monthly Penecillin injections for many years. It kept me from getting strep again and turning into something worse. Keep doing the penecillin.

On September 12th I went to the doc with my throat swelled shut. They done a rapid strep test anf sure enough I had it. She gave me a shot of steroids, shot of antibiotics and antibiotics to take at home. My throat felt much better within a day or 2.
A couple days ago the skin around ny fingers started peeling and then got worse. Is that normal with strep? I never developed a rash.
He told me it was probably still scarlet fever and that I should continue with the antibiotics and let him know if it worsens by tomorrow. my son is 9+yrs and has had a stiff neck since oct/nov last year. suddenly 2mo's ago he got really swollen glands with sore throat and bad chest infection with wheezing asthma, followed by high fever ard 5days later. it affected his liver too for e next 2months_swollen and palpable, with upset stomach and pain below the ribs. the doc suspected EBV, so he was told no sports for 2mo's. a test showed that it was an old ebv infection, but not active.
my son of 9 yrs complaint with difficulty in Swallowing , we have observed white patches on tonsils and also in the throat inner area. he is reported with fever, cold, and cough occassionally and feels anemic. he is well vaccinated . what clould be the problem, and how to diagnise it ,. is there any treatment for these symptoms??????
Strep. pyogenes (group A strep) has toxins which can cause serious complications such as scarlet fever, rheumatic fever septicemia (blood infections) etc. So you want to get this under control. You can get strep without a fever but it is very unusual. I would stay off of the steroid if I were you. Make sure he eats two yogurts a day (that contain live bacteria such as lactobacillus or bifidobacterium) or takes probiotics.
