I can see Fifth disease to still be possible, because it may act differently in adults than kids. But I don't think it could be scarlet fever at all. I mean it usually comes it a facial rash yes, but also a high fever, strawberry tongue, and then a full on rash. Also you feel pretty freaking miserable if you got it.

There are differentials for a rash in children who present with fever. At this point, given your child's age and the presentation of the rash, scarlet fever and hand,foot and mouth disease are differentials.
As for scarlet fever, the rash usually develops a day or two after the onset of fever. Prior to his your child complains of pain in swallowing,weakness or easy fatigability, decrease in appetite and for some nausea and vomiting.

Currently dealing with my sons battle with scarlet fever. Going into the second week...amoxicillin (10 days) seemed to work then on day 9 of treatment rash returned. We started azithromycin (3 days) thinking it developed resistance to penicillin. One dose of azithromycin made a HUGE difference.
I am asking whether I could get this from my partner they show no signs at all but in the last week their hands have started to peel in exactly the same way mine are following the scarlet fever rash.

An hour or so later I noticed a fine rash all over his tummy. I got my medical book out and the symptoms seemed similar to that of Scarlet fever so checked his mouth and he did have white tongue.

Five days after, I woke up with a swollen/sore throat and red, sunburn-like rash covering my groin, buttocks, breasts & surrounding area, but it didn't itch and I no fever. I had slept with a tampon in, and was concerned about TSS, but had no other symptoms.

my son is 9+yrs and has had a stiff neck since oct/nov last year. suddenly 2mo's ago he got really swollen glands with sore throat and bad chest infection with wheezing asthma, followed by high fever ard 5days later. it affected his liver too for e next 2months_swollen and palpable, with upset stomach and pain below the ribs. the doc suspected EBV, so he was told no sports for 2mo's. a test showed that it was an old ebv infection, but not active.
Other possibilities needed to be ruled out are viral exanthem, Mycoplasma pneumoniae - serological test and chest radiography is important to rule out and should be treated with appropriate antibiotic, Rocky Mountain spotted fever (it is tick borne disease and needs serological test for diagnosis), infectious mononucleosis, scarlet fever; as a result of streptococcal tonsillopharyngitis, Kawasaki disease, and dengue. Hence, you need to undergo serological tests for few common causes.
