it was the white patches I am concerned of since I was tan before I got the scarlet fever- it's five weeks now and they are still there? scars? or jsut need to blend in? that's why I'm wondering if I should start tanning to even out. When I get spray tan the spots still stay lighter thanks!!

If you were never treated for Scarlet fever you can get long term complications from it like Rheumatic fever or kidney problems. Also, fever, pneumonia, throat abscesses, ear infections and skin infections. Most people don't get the complications but it can happen and that is why they treat this with antibiotics early on. Maybe you can see an infectious disease doctor. Do you have any problems with your kidneys or heart? If not that hopefully you will be okay.
The fever persisted as low grade even with medications. (Advil and Tylenol fever reducer) I also have what feels like the worst sore throat ever. Literal burning whenever I swallow. (Only hot liquids help) I went to urgent care that Tuesday morning and they tested me for Covid, Flu and Strep. The wacky doctor that came in claimed "your throat looks fine and all your other vitals are normal." Besides the fact that my temperature was 99.3.
Sorry, hit enter too fast. Anyway I don't think it can be either scarlet fever or Fifth disease because of the rash and fever. I can see Fifth disease to still be possible, because it may act differently in adults than kids. But I don't think it could be scarlet fever at all. I mean it usually comes it a facial rash yes, but also a high fever, strawberry tongue, and then a full on rash. Also you feel pretty freaking miserable if you got it.
But want to comment in case anyone else researching comes across this. The scarlet fever symptoms and the pink eye is indicative of possible Kawasaki syndrome. Ask your doctors about this possibility.
Currently dealing with my sons battle with scarlet fever. Going into the second week...amoxicillin (10 days) seemed to work then on day 9 of treatment rash returned. We started azithromycin (3 days) thinking it developed resistance to penicillin. One dose of azithromycin made a HUGE difference.

There are differentials for a rash in children who present with fever. At this point, given your child's age and the presentation of the rash, scarlet fever and hand,foot and mouth disease are differentials.

So 5 days ago I had a fever of about 102 to 103 then at one point the fever stopped right after it stopped I got a rash that started under my armpits and inner thighs and my pelvic where my stomach meets my groin and the back of my knees. i have had a ekg and told all is fine. it happens to alot of people. heres the thing my dad at the age 10 had scarlet fever. at the age of 44 died from a heart attack. i have lost two brothers ages 50 & 58. a sisster and brother have had heart attacks and lived.. we have same dad differnt mothers.. my question would be could the heart problem be in the genes? we were told my dads heart attack was due to his weakend heart from the scarlet fever. p.s.
If your daughter is a child then the possibility of rocky mountain spotted fever, Kawasaki disease and scarlet fever are there. Rash in all these involves the palms and soles and is a red, shiny rash. Investigations and blood tests are needed to confirm the diagnosis.

Im concerned about my almost 4year old son who has recently finished a 5day course of antibiotics- penicillin, for scarlet fever, its the first time he's had them. within a day or so of finishing the course he is having pains in his tummy which seem to come on mainly from walking any further than around the house, and also sometimes eating.iv just bought some probiotics and am hoping thats all thats needed?
Id be really grateful to hear from anyone with similer experience or advice??
I had a strep infection without a sore throat, but with scarlet fever, and every joint in my body was involved. I could barely walk. I had no idea strep could cause these symptoms. You can also have a negative rapid strep test. What you really need is a culture and a blood draw to make sure. I got the run around for quite a while. I went to the doctor and said "my fingers are swollen" and he said "they don't look swollen to me.

The other night I came down with a severe headache and the following day had strep-like symptoms (only lasting a day) of sore throat, headache, neasuea, weakness/ fatigue, diarhea, fever, and vomitting. The next day my fever ws gone and the only thing that lingers is a sore throat. My mother being an RN seems to think it is scarlet fever caused by a dormant strep infection I had about a month ago. I am not so sure as I did not have any strawberry tongue are patches in my mouth.
I've got a rash. Started on my arms, now all over my body. Getting worse not better. Went to the docs she said scarlet fever but I don't have any other symptoms other than the rash. She put me on anti biotics but nothing is getting better after 2 days of taking them, and I've had the rash for 6 days now.

The rash of scarlet fever is usually associated with headache and a fever .The rash has a rough feel to it and may be reddish over the arms and legs.However ,in your case the rash does not appear like this based on the images. A superimposed viral infection is your physician's primary differential.
Continue to obeserve the rash and note for any scaling of the skin or development of enlarged lymph nodes especially over the neck. Take lots of fluids and eat well.
