March 1st at 4 am, technically March 2nd, I woke up with a fever of 103. The fever persisted as low grade even with medications. (Advil and Tylenol fever reducer) I also have what feels like the worst sore throat ever. Literal burning whenever I swallow. (Only hot liquids help) I went to urgent care that Tuesday morning and they tested me for Covid, Flu and Strep. The wacky doctor that came in claimed "your throat looks fine and all your other vitals are normal.

Monday I got a severe burning sore throat with no other symptoms. Tuesday sore throat was worse I could barely swallow. Went to MD and had a strep throat test- negative. Also swollen lymph nodes in neck and slight fever 101. No other cold or flu symptoms. I can only swallow ice water or ice chips. After 3 days I now have a blistery rash on my hands also. Could this be mono or something else- should I see Dr again?

(only strep infection). Or even Scarlet fever with no rash? Also, when I had Strep I had the tendency to self-induce vomit by using my ring and middle fingers, could that generalized the strep infection towards my fingers which still lasts until now?

Hi Odette72, If you were never treated for Scarlet fever you can get long term complications from it like Rheumatic fever or kidney problems. Also, fever, pneumonia, throat abscesses, ear infections and skin infections. Most people don't get the complications but it can happen and that is why they treat this with antibiotics early on. Maybe you can see an infectious disease doctor. Do you have any problems with your kidneys or heart? If not that hopefully you will be okay.

I had a cold but it's been two and a half weeks. I still have congestion in my nose but nothing more than a bother. What concerns me is my throat!!
