I have, what I can only describe as acne which is confined to my scalp. I am troubled by lots of spots and pimples, some have yellow puss in, some are just red spots. All are very sore to the touch. The main area of outbreak is a band across the back of my scalp from temple to temple, the sort of area where a hat band would contact your head. The spots are constantly appearing but I have periods of more severs outbreak. I have oily hair which I have to wash every day with baby shampoo.

I also forgot to mention that my I've had problems with a dry flaky,scaly scalp since the onset of sx too. It isn't my whole scalp just a small area near the front right side.

After two years of moderate to severe cystic acne (but a lifetime of mild acne punctuated by spurts of cystic acne), I have noticed two things-While I'm in my late 30's, "hormonal" acne treatments etc. DON'T WORK and powerful anitbiotics work FAST & best. My most recent expereinces: using a sulfa based drug for non-skin infections has almost obliterated cystic acne in 4, yes 4 days!!!!!!

I first noticed bumps on my scalp around four years ago..I didn't really think much of it until I started noticing it along my side burns, behind my ears and hairline. September 2015 I finally went to my dermatologist and he tries convincing me it was just acne but I tried explaining to him it wasn't behaving as ance usually behaves. They would come and go in flare ups, scab over and then usually disappear. The flare ups came and went around every two weeks.

Hi i am a 26 yr old male. i have a moderately itchy scalp that gets oily by the end of the day & have occasional acne on the scalp. also i have significant hair loss due to it.Recently, i have noticed more frequent occurrence of acne on my face & rarely on my chest & back. i wash my hair everyday with a mild shampoo to remove the oiliness. it just doesn't seem to help. i somehow feel the itchy scalp, acne & facial acne are related.

In short, I regard the two conditions as separate and unrelated. Acne itself does not affect the scalp. In my experience, many cases of scalp folliculitis are stress-related. Unless a culture actually shows staph germs, I would be skeptical that these bacteria are playing any role here. If a topical antibiotic doesn't help, perhaps a topical steroid might. Ask your dermatologist. Also, be sure never to scratch any of the spots, since that perpetuates the problem. Take care. Dr.

Im in desperate need of some home remedies that will take care of the acne on my forehead. It is so embarrassing and annoying! I am used to using astringent and other topical ointments from my dermatologist but since becomming pregnant ive stopped since some products can be dangerous. Ive asked this question before but have yet been successful at getting rid of it.. any suggestions would help greatly! Currently i am using clean and clear for sensitive skin.

Ive got scalp acne...i dunno if this is due to being pregnant or just my oily scalp.

I've been noticing a lot more acne all over my neck, but mainly the front (super visble) and right around my hairline on the back. Also been getting a lot of weird, random "scabs" all over my scalp. Never had these problems before pregnancy. I know acne is normal, but i haven't gotten any on my face. Is any of this normal? More concerned about the "scabs", because i dont scratch my head much, but when i do, i find these. Any advice is welcome. Thanks!

I have a very very itchy and flaky scalp. I have tried all the OTC remedies, Sea Breeze and Tea Tree Oil. It is driving me crazy. I wake up in the middle of the night sratching my head. I do not have this problem anywhere else on my body except the scalp. I have to constantly wipe my clothing off. I color my hair but have for years. I have not changed my shampoo or hair products at all. Can someone tell me about a remedy that will help...I will try just about anything!

Acne and dry scalp are not associated with any std, including HIV. If you are concerned about HIV, get a test, but nothing you have suggests HIV.

Fearing that those would leave me marks I went to dermatologist and was prescribed acne clear gel, hidrate lotion and adaferin gel. I have been using acne gel and hidrate lotion from one month my acne settled well. But from last 3 days I am getting very bad white flakes on face. My face is tight and some time applying lotion burns my face. White flakes have appeared first time on my face. I am very scared does this resembles dermatitis? I also have little bit itching on face.

has been able to give me a good diagnoses or treatment. One Dr. said scalp acne which seems possible and he gave me an antibiotic for acne which actually worked great only my scalp got reallys dry. Ask your doctor to try you on Minocycline to see if maybe you have bacteria in your skin. I do get to go see another Dr. in a few weeks.....wish me luck!

( is there any good skin product that really does work at getting rid of acne, dark spots, bit still make your skin smooth?? Btw I have sensitive skin && some acne products make my skin dry :( please help?

I have the same issue! I'm 33 weeks with a boy too. My first baby. And not only do I have itchy scalp but super dry and flakey skin as well as acne worse than I've ever had in my entire life! For my scalp I use is a tree tea oil shampoo. It tingles a bit on your scalp when u wash but it relieves dry scalp which causes the itch. I hope this helps and good luck with your little guy!

I have alot of white heads , acne from white heads and cystic acne all over my face i have tried everything even medication(homeopathy- kali brom 30) bt its not helping at all. Its still growing and nothing seems to work!

I can tell you that during the first couple months of going low-carb, I noticed that my scalp acne and oiliness vanished. I am on minocycline and it says some stuff about peoples skin being itchy but not very much about scalp itching. It is mostly on the back of my head. I dont know if it is lice or anything else. It is really annoying. Any help?

I'm at 32 weeks SOC treatment. I've had lots of problems with dry skin, itching, etc. every since beginning treatment. I've been washing my hair much less often, but have been able to continue using hair color until the last couple of months. The last time colored my hair it's like it burned my scalp. Obviously, I won't be coloring my hair anymore until treatment is over, but does anyone have any good remedies for putting some moisture back into my scalp?

My daughter had baby acne which showed up when she was around 3-4 weeks and it lasted about 1 month. During her 2 month check up the doctor said that by this time any dry skin or baby acne usually goes away (hers already cleared up). I had read though not to poke or pop anything, just wash her face. Every baby is different but aparently baby acne is very common.
