precha here, I've just started using sotalol sandoz , and so far i'm having good results. is anyone else using this med and what results?

I just discovered this after 3 months of total misery, 7 different doctors, multiple tests, 1 hospitalization, 16 pound weight loss, almost lost my job, etc., etc., etc.. I want to know if this will have permanent effects on my body and heart and will I ever be the same again. I still don't feel 100% and have been back on the brand TOPROL XL for 9 days now.

This is what the pharmacist at Walmart told me when I went to go get my script filled for a higher dose. I have tried Mylan and Sandoz. and I liked Sandoz a lot better. Now I am using Watson...which is weird....I can at least visually see the medicine now but it leaves marks on my skin and my pain hasn't been controlled lately even with the increase. They also seem to come off or the edges stop sticking faster, yet they stick better overall.

Basically, the only things I can think that could be chemical in origin is I had started consuming caffeine since I started a new job that requires me to work in the early hours of the morning, and I also am taking my Lorazepam 2 MG 3X daily, along with my Beta Blocker Metoprolol Succinate ER and my birth control.

Keep in mind that when you switched from Toprolol ER (Metoprolol Succinate) to Lopressor (Metoprolol Tartrate), you lost the timed released advantage. If you were taking 25mg. pills of each medication, you are loosing a great deal of the latter drug's effectiveness as the day wears on. The half life of Metoprolol Tartrate is only 3-7 hours. Hey antsy. I'll tell you... I wish I had a dollar for every time someone asks this question. For me, someone who had a near lifetime of SVT, 54 years, it's easy to discern the difference. But for someone who's feeling this for the first time, or is not familiar with SVT symptoms, it can easily be mistaken for a panic attack. Of course, I can't be there when you get one. Novex, Par Pharm, Roxio, Sandoz and Watson Labs with no results. Somebody still has to be manufacturing it somewhere but nobody will say who.

As a user of Metoprolol I don't recall any concern about being on beta blockers for dental surgery - the only serious surgery I had was open heart surgery and best I can remember I went off of all medications the day before surgery. Your doctor should advise you on such matters. Don't you have a pre-surgery process to go through? That should tell you what you need to know and give you an easy way to ask questions.
