Advair™ Diskus® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) Inhalation Powder contains 2 medicines. The inhaled steroid Flovent® (fluticasone propionate) has a half life of around 5 hours, so it would be totally out of your system in a few days. The inhaled long-acting bronchodilator Serevent® (salmeterol) has a similar half life, so it would be totally out of your system after 5 days.
When steroid side effects occur, they may linger for weeks or even months after the medicine has been stopped.
To my knowledge Advair® (fluticasone propionate and salmeterol) has not been linked to strokes. Have you heard anything about this in the lay press?
I take Advair, (Fluticasone propionate / Salmeterol) once a daily inhaled. My asthma is not controlled without Advair, but is stable with one dose daily. I would like to take Harmine alkaloids (Harmine, Harmaline), but I'm not sure if Salmeterol is safe to take with Harmine alkaloids as they are MAOI (reversible MAOI however) are they safe to combine? Recently I had to go to the Hospital because the VENTILAN aerosol was not producing any effect. There they gave my a prescription for an asthma control medicine named here in Portugal MAIZAR (50µg Salmeterol/250µg Fluticasona Propionate) which I'm taking twice a day with excellent results. I believe this medicine is also known as ADVAIR in other countries.
Symbicort contains budesonide and formoterol fumarate dihydrate and Advair contains fluticasone and salmeterol. So while they do not have the same medications, the medication groups are the same. Cause of low DLCO and drop in it from test 1 to test 1? I am currently on tiotropium bromide and salmeterol/fluticasone propionate. My reason for posting this is one doc is pessimistic and the other highly optimistic.

inhaler a day (50 mcg salmeterol, 250 mcg fluticasone). Also I take 500 mg Vitamin C supplements every morning. Those are the only meds I take routinely.
Drug should be taken when necessary and should not be repeated in short interval. Fluticasone mainly acts as anti inflammatory drug and has no action on heart. Hence, these drugs can be safely given in patients with Atrial fibrillation. I suggest you to consult physician for more information. Take care and regards.
There were no other treatments or procedures to go through; and based on the primary characteristics of the tumor, my oncologist told me he was 95 - 98% sure I would not have any problems from this.
I recently heard about this allergy nasal spray called Veramyst and called my physician for a perscription. They told me they could not perscribe because of my melanoma diagnosis.
I called and asked and she just said to also take phenlyeprine (sudaphed PE) and guaifenesin (Mucinex).
These help quite a bit, but they make me jittery and queasy, I have to pee really often, and I'm still sleepy from the other stuff, and I still have some congestion and sore throat.
So what do I do now? Did I just get really horrible genetics and there's nothing I can do?

I hope you meant to say phenylepherine which is a decongestant and fluticasone which is a steroid.Yes you can take them at the same time(if using for nasal congestion) but you should not use decongestants for more than 5-7 days at a time. This is because they can only provide short-term relief for catarrh, and using them for any longer can make your symptoms worse.Corticosteroids work by helping to reduce inflammation and congestion.
So they should be used along with decongestants.
Yes, but your comments said that the warning was on the ICS component. It isn't. It is on the LABA component only. To quote you, "I am wary of inhaled steroids because I have had serious side effect that were worse than the ailment it was supposed to treat. So if you are prescribed something like that, ask if there are alternatives. The FDA sent out warning a year ago about inhaled steroids.
