Common Questions and Answers about Safety with international travel

safety

Avatar f tn Does anyone have any experience in this sector or for that matter any international sector? Airline advises me to carry the pegasys in thermocol packs with ice pack and in checked in baggage. All your views would be appreciated.
Avatar m tn I had both eyes treated for tears about 5 months ago, ever since then I put on a lot of pressure. My retina Dr saw me 2 months ago and has cleared me for international travel. My questions are: 1) should hiking on high altitudes/snorkeling be avoided after retina tear treatment? 2) what else to pay attention to during the travel? Thank you very much!
Avatar f tn Hi, I travelled all the way through my pregnancy with my now 2 yo daughter. Up until about 8 1/2 months (the latest they let you travel). With this one, the same thing. I travel all the time for work (1 - 3 times a month), including international trips. Just drink plenty of water. All will be fine!
414327 tn?1208306037 I have traveled with meds and syringes. I agree with the above about carrying a note from your doc on formal stationary; and also declaring what you are carrying to the TSA. ALso, do not put meds and syringes in checked bags. I have had things stolen from checked bags.
Avatar f tn I had a safety 1st travel system with my first daughter and i loved it it was really nice and durable. And now she has a graco toddler car seat and she loves it. I personally think both brands are really good.
Avatar f tn Yeah, I agree to check with your doctor first. I live in Washington state and when I checked 2 years ago the cut off was 7 months. When I flew I was a little beyond that but absolutely no one asked how far along I was, I don't think anyone even noticed my big belly. I did bring a paper from my doctor saying I was ok to fly just in case. That may be a good idea for you to bring too.
4332997 tn?1358728615 OK so I am going crazy about finding the right travel system for my nugget!!!! I want to know What are the safest brands/models and any experience with anything from anybody!!!! I found an Eddie Bauer one I really like but was told that there were some iffy safety concerns on the car seat and mechanical issues with the stroller......I could scream because it is literally like buying a car for an infant lol!!!!! I am having a girl and would like a feminine look to it at all possible!!!!!!
2095018 tn?1333074138 So far I am just anxious about traveling, but have read more good than bad and hope that is the norm for international medical travel. Anyone who has chosen to travel internationally for fertility treatment your input would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn My doctor says it is safety. But i had miscarriage at 6 weeks right after flying. So, idk what was the reason. Hope not the flight.
Avatar n tn I am an adult with type 1 and I am about to embark on my first international travel since I have had type 1. There are so many restrictions with carrying food on board, liquids, gels etc. I have spoken to airlines and they can't tell me the finer details - they just say I need to get a letter from my doctor. I need to carry food items with me at all times and am feeling very anxious about going through security procedures.

Avatar f tn Hi all..I am 23 weeks pregnant and I have to catch an international flight with in few days..Is it safe to travel that far in my 23 week.??what precautions should I take.??
Avatar n tn I travelled a lot on tx, mostly international travel. Pack your injectables with cold packs in a separate case and advise security that you are carrying injectables. I used an insulated bag and one or two of the freezer packs that came with my meds. I also carried copies of my prescriptions in case there was any question at security and also in case I needed to get fresh drugs while away from home. I never had any trouble.
Avatar f tn They will not let u travel that far along
Avatar f tn Doug Koch MD has an international reputation and is in Houston at the medical school. LINK https://www.bcm.
Avatar f tn Several travel companies, including Travelocity, planned on-site monitoring at airports Wednesday to try to gauge where and why delays happen. But with a vicious storm already hindering travel in Western states Tuesday , determining if weather or protests are behind delays across the vastly interconnected air travel system could be nearly impossible.
Avatar m tn I did a lot of international travel during tx and had no problems. For a long flight I would pack it with one of the frozen thingies that came with every shipment. At security I would tell TSA that I was carrying injectable meds and syringes with a cold pack. They were real good about it. I always carried copies of my prescriptions but nobody ever asked for one.
Avatar n tn I read in a book if you have any placental issues, you should avoid air travel, especially international long flights because oxygen deprivation. I am debating not going. My midwife says I am early along and it's only a concern when further along, but I'm not as concerned of miscarriage/premature birth as I am that the low levels of oxyegn could actually harm the baby? Thoughts?
