I recently went to my drs office and mentioned that I was feeling nauseated again at 36 weeks. He stated that it's due to indigestion and I brought up how I used to be on an acid reflux medicine called protonix before getting pregnant but discontinued use of it after finding out. I've been feeling horrible but I'm iffy about taking it. anyone ever taken nexium during pregnancy?
I would recommend you waiting till your in your second trimester to start exercising cause the baby's so small and fragile any wrong move could cause your body to try to expel the baby but it is safe as long as your body is excepting it & your comfortable don't push yourself to hard or lift to heavy I'm 25 weeks & still work out like a champ every other day
I, like many other's have experienced being out of breath, for no reason. I was on nexium 40mg, for 4 months, and experiencing excessively dry mouth, not being able to control this problem even by drinking 2 litres of water a day. mabee the nexium has dried me up so much, but I've stopped taking it and after 3 days, no more out of breath problems, 52 y.old, not taking any other kind of med. exercising regularly, So anybody, can nexium bring upon this kind of problem?
You can sleep on right side as well . You can try doing it now though to get used to it . Later on in pregnancy if you wake up on your back just roll over baby is ok . He or she will most likely make you uncomfortable before anything bad happens your body will signal a response to you most likely . I had thos worry and sometimes I still wake up on my back just get used it your side sleeping now while its still comfortable for you .
Normally it is safe thru your whole pregnancy but it would be best to talk to your doctor since you did have spotting! Need to make sure the baby is ok.
In general, drugs such as Ultram (or tramadol) are not recommended during pregnancy or during breastfeeding because there is a lack of safety information. This does not mean that it will necessarily cause problems for the fetus or baby, but since the information is not known, it might. Animal studies have shown that the drug crosses to the developing fetus, but the danger to a developing human fetus is not known.
Nexium would help GERD, ulcers, and inflammation of the stomach.
If it hasn't been done already, you can consider an upper endoscopy which can give a more conclusive answer.
Other tests to consider would be a 24-hr pH study or an abdominal ultrasound to evaluate for GERD and the liver/gallbladder respectively.
I would also obtain blood tests to exclude the bacteria H Pylori, which is associated with ulcers and inflammation.
okay i just got a call from the doctor today and they said i dont have any infections. the first two days of taking nexium i started feeling the pain a little more but then after that i've been feeling fine. i had a lot of anxiety and stress from a few months ago which lasted for 6 1/2 months. i wonder if that was the cause???
Nexium also affects vitamin B12 levels because the body can’t absorb the vitamin without stomach acid to uncouple the vitamin from protein in food. I decided not to take a third dose of Nexium Saturday night and took my usual Previcid. Next morning the chest pains and severe pressure/tightness were better. I had no chest pain and milder chest pressure/tightness. Ask your doctor to put you on Previcid - 1 tab at bedtime/2hrs after eating and 1 tab in morning 1/2 hr before meal. I hope this helps. What I do know is that early on in your pregnancy you're most prone to losing the baby so the most important time to take precautions is now. Definitely check with a doctor...
Every woman and situation is different.. Most doctors recommend some form of moderate exercise during pregnancy(as long as there are no complications) and if you have been exercising regularly you should be fine. I would suggest doing light exercises and see how your body reacts. If you have any bleeding, cramping etc... I would stop. Congratulations.
Hello, I am 16 turning 17 in May. I started taking Nexium in 2013 in August. I have a severe case of Acid Reflux. My esophagus is mildly burned. I have no ulcers. Ever since I was 5 I had acid reflux disease for years we couldn't figure it out neither could my mom she just thought I had bad morning stomach aches until she became an EMT paramedic in 2010, ever since she figured it out we've been looking for medicine to help.
Could this be IBS? We will be following up with a G.I. some time in the begining of next month but with most of the doctors we see they do not care to look further into this and just listen to his symptoms and give him whatever and send him on his way. I really want him to get on the right track here and I really would like him to get the better help he deserves and needs. Please help if you can I am in desperate needs!!

I've had pregnancy gingivitis in my second pregnancy. It's not the same. I'm 30.4 weeks & haven't had morning sicess at all this pregnancy.
