Avatar f tn I teach a 6 year old girl who consistently has temper tantrums in the classroom. If she is asked to correct something, or told to tidy up with the rest of the class she can fly into a fit of rage. When she is having a tantrum she can scream and wail for up to an hour. She crawls around on the floor after me...making it impossible to ignore her. She has other unusual behaviours too. She is always 'ill' and complaining of the hiccups, sore fingers, neck, throat etc...
Avatar f tn My nephew is throwing chairs in school. He is five years old!
Avatar f tn “My thing is if she wasn’t following the rules in the classroom, she should have never been allowed on that machine in the first place because the teacher himself is putting her at danger,” said Kayla’s Mother, Lissette Carrera. “He’s the adult, he supervises, she is the student. He should have told her, put your hair back before you get on the machine, these are the rules of the classroom, you must follow them,” Carrera continued.
Avatar f tn By the way, a friend of mine is a teacher. She had started a new medication for her mental health issues and unfortunately, had a psychotic break at school. She walked herself to the office knowing she needed to be away from her classroom. She'd called her husband to meet her who came immediately. They talked the principal and she left and her husband drove her to the emergency room. She took the next day off of work and they were getting her meds corrected.
Avatar f tn A year ago I was sitting in a unit test, the classroom was pretty quiet, all of a sudden I had this fear gripping me when i noticed how quiet the room was, this made me panic, my heart rate was up, I was sweating, labored breathing, barely able to concentrate on the paper. I rustled the pages just to make some noise. All in all quite distressing. I asked to go to the loo and was told to take my stuff with me, so I did. I left the building and didn't go back to the classroom.
Avatar f tn I got the colour spray paint in the eye...my eyes are a bit red but no itcy...should I go see a doctor?
Avatar n tn Continually bargains and consistently delaying the act of going inside the classroom. My question is, how can the teachers and the guidance counselors in school be of help to make this child go inside the classroom and what can be done at home in order for the child to have a change in behavior?
Avatar n tn Sometimes it is due to sitting on those hard chair in classroom all day; leaning on side or leaning back and slanting & resting your head on your hand w/ elbow on the desk/table. Bound to shift lower backbones and muscle spasms.
Avatar n tn By the way, if anxiety is the issue, often the best seat for the child in the classroom is the seat in the back corner (away from the noise and distraction and near the safety of two walls). Ask your daughter if this would be a better place to sit - rather than one where she is on display (if so, have her teacher move her).
Avatar f tn He always gets in trouble for talking and being to loud in the classroom. My husband and I have noticed his behavior and we have been seeing a dr regarding this. We are at the point he is now getting behavior reports all the time and now his teacher has called me today for a meeting with us and her. I am so terribly worried about putting my 5 year old on medication. I am scared this will hurt his brain development.
Avatar f tn LOL It is a time that many many kids have issues settling in and adjusting to the new classroom enviroment. Your son is 5 going on 6 and I would bet my life that he is not the only child in the class working on things. I think that you should call his teacher and move away from this note writing business. I'd be more direct with her/him and get to the bottom on this. What exactly is he doing? What do they mean by making fun of teachers and disturbing class repeatedly?
Avatar f tn They should have a list in the classroom and in the nurses office. As for the bedding, you are right being unsanitary, most of the time the bedding should be in cubbies or least separated by cots. With it being there first year the might not be aware of everything that is needed..but that's not an excuse. Hope this helps a little.
Avatar n tn We punish him when he gets out of line (take away privileges, time out, spanking, push ups) depending on what he has done to warrant punishment (spanking are only for extreme circumstances like his safety is in danger) He is an only child. He will start kindergarten in Aug and we are worried this behavior may continue and possibly affect his learning in school. He has no mental or physical problems that we are aware of. What is really odd is this does not happen at home AT ALL.
Avatar f tn At the same time, I want him to be an enjoyable student for his teachers. Any advice on how to re-direct his hyperactive behavior in the classroom would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar n tn There have been no other symptoms or outbreaks in the past 5 months. My partner received testing and he was negative. We would like to keep it that way and are unsure if or how to continue this portion of our relationship safely .Is this possible?
4981292 tn?1381256805 This bracelet will set the alarms off, and lock all doors in hospital, if the baby/braclet goes to close to the entrance doors. This is to protect your baby from getting stolen. I love it. Never heard of this but it makes me feel so much better knowing my baby is 100% safe.. So curious how many other hospitals do this?
Avatar n tn When my girlfriend and I have sex we always use a condom and I always pull out before I ejaculate just to be safe, but I have two scenarios that I'm extremely worried about her potentially being pregnant. 1) Last saturday when we had sex I started to put the condom on and when i realized it wasn't unrolling right i flipped it over and put it on correctly, even though I was wearing protection I pulled out to be on the safe side. I didn't pre-*** before I put the condom on wrong.
Avatar n tn I really do not see why the two sisters cannot be in the same classroom for the first few years in school (although with twins I do know it is wise to separate them at a later date). And you are correct, I suspect your one daughter will never "like" school as well as your other daughter but that is not unusual (and as a teacher you must be aware that many of our students are not overly fond of school). Hope this helps ....
Avatar n tn If it is the separation anxiety, try to organise with her teacher for you to take your daughter and stay in the classroom for the morning. Then your daughter can come home with you after being in the room for a morning. After a couple of days, sit outside the classroom where she can see you are still there. Then extend it to you move out of view for a small time - 2 mins increasing throughout the morning but always returning to view.
Avatar f tn It was three mornings a week, very loosely structured, mostly social based and I am finding out now that her teacher was using negative discipline techniques and frankly, bullying the children in the classroom, including my daughter. I noticed several less-than-awesome behaviors she seems to have picked up or started in reaction to her experience there.
Avatar n tn I am a 4th year full day Kindergarten teacher and this year, I have 8 out of 21 children who cry every day, are oppositional, won't follow directions, won't listen, are mean to others, hit, scream and are constantly disruptive no matter what I do. I have modified the classroom environment, tried many different behavior modification plans, and still, the disruptions persist.
163305 tn?1333668571 I recorded mini-lessons for my students to watch at home, so we could “flip our classroom” and discuss the information in small groups the next day. And I knew we were just getting started. But did the benefits offset what was lost? Sherry Turkle, the author of “Reclaiming Conversation: The Power of Talk in a Digital Age,” writes about how we are sacrificing connections, one quick check of our screens at a time.
Avatar f tn me and my boyfriend (long distance) have both admitted to each other we're virgins. we've also discovered i'm the one with more experience. he's never gotten a ******** or a hand job, etc. i'm going over to visit him for a while in the summer, i've arranged to get on the birth control pill, and had mutliple talks with my mother and experienced friends about it's use in preventing pregnancies.
Avatar f tn As much as I wish I could give you the answer you're seeking, you really need to address this with your doctor, especially in light of the MS. We are not doctors on this side of the forum and you need real medical advice as opposed to mere "opinions," which is all we can offer you here. I do know there are far more natural ways to get serotonin and that is something you can discuss with your docs.
Avatar f tn In Australia there is a site called kidsafe that rates all available car seats, prams, strollers, cots etc that are available. It rates everything from safety through to prices. Just wondering if perhaps the US has a similar site!
Avatar f tn Doggie is always safe, I'm not sure about the jumping jack though.
