Im 31, 2014 I had three miscarriages and I just found out two days ago that I am pregnant. Totally shocked because Im in nursing school and wasn't planning on getting pregnant any time soon. Im just very nervous and scared right now for the safety of the baby. Any suggestions??

Hello, My father who is 80 years of age suffers from Alzheimer's and has been in a nursing home for 5 years. He has been on a "low" does of Risperdal for the same period of time. His caregivers claim that it is for his own safety and theirs as he becomes agitated periodically. They have not described to me in any detail how this agitation manifests itself.
A question to ask is, how mentally alert is your Dad? Does he have any cognitive impairment, such as Alzheimer's? Is he in a nursing home or living on his own or with family? The answer depends partly on that, because psychiatrists and doctors treating the elderly in a confinement setting will often just try out passels of drugs on people just to get them to be quiet and cooperative.

I also think you need to be your best health self and since there are some known issues that can arise, I wouldn't do it while nursing. I personally wouldn't do it at all. :>) I know it is less than some cosmetic surgeries but I don't think it is worth the risks.
I have spoken to my mother on occasion about her health and safety, I have suggested a nursing home, but to my mother that would mean she would no longer have the financial ability to feed her cigarette smoking addiction. My mother’s statement is always the same; I am not ready for a nursing home. The truth is she was ready after her second fall, but her addiction is the only thing that persuades her in her decision making.
Look up your pregnancy health and safety leglislation for your country. In ireland if you work in a job where there is a health and safety issue e.g heavy lifting and where the job can not accomadate u in another suitable line of work,well then u are entitled to go on pregnancy related illness leave and your employer must pay u in full for this. They are under no obligation to pay u for maternity leave though.thats up to the employers discretion.
I'm a nurse in the NICU and I totally agree with you. Your babies safety is at the utmost importance. I would discuss her actions with your manager.
Hospitals are of course needed but what's of concern to me is that they are closing many due to budget constraints so the quality of care will diminish due to this factor alone. As for many people who are elderly or people with disabilities they could live in the community and not have to live in a nursing home. At least that specific proposal became part of the health care reform law and that one regulation (taken alone) actually saves money and keeps people safe.
I need to know from solid Clinical research studies the affects of Cannabis on fetal lung and heart development, as well the affects of an infant who is being nursed by her mother, who swears the baby receives no traces of THC from her nursing mother. Can infants who struggle with heart and lung problems and have difficulty with breathing and they experiencesrapid heart rate symptoms be caused by THC through their mothers milk?
me and my boyfriend (long distance) have both admitted to each other we're virgins. we've also discovered i'm the one with more experience. he's never gotten a ******** or a hand job, etc. i'm going over to visit him for a while in the summer, i've arranged to get on the birth control pill, and had mutliple talks with my mother and experienced friends about it's use in preventing pregnancies.
