Just go the nearest hospital and tell them your in labor, you have to give them information about the main hospital you get care in for your baby. Usually hospitals offer tons of classes for new moms, labor and delivery and even classes for new dads! Call your hospital or go on their website and see if you can find anything (: as far as safety guidelines, I'm not sure of a website but as long as it's being sold in a store as a NEW product it had to pass the regulations otherwise that company would have a lot of legal issues on their hand lol.
Goggle pregnancy help centers near you I'm in Cincinnati and there are some around he that give them away and also cribs diapers wipes and clothes formula etc.
Thanks Dr. Hagan. I am going to let the swelling go down and if I still have blurred vision or pain I will go to an opthalmologist. I don't think there is anything they can do with the swelling. Is that a good plan?
Hospitals are of course needed but what's of concern to me is that they are closing many due to budget constraints so the quality of care will diminish due to this factor alone. As for many people who are elderly or people with disabilities they could live in the community and not have to live in a nursing home. At least that specific proposal became part of the health care reform law and that one regulation (taken alone) actually saves money and keeps people safe.
My lactation consultant also recommended it, she had her last child in a tub. They both said it was more comfortable than their previous experiences. That said, my doctor won't do a water birth for health and safety reasons. (Can get complicated, put more risk on the baby, make it logistically harder to deliver.) Check out all your options and weigh the risks and benefits.
