675923 tn?1296238011 Has anyone ever been through the process of receiving payments, SSI or LTD, for their BP? When I was first diagnosed, 30 years ago, I moved along fairly well. In the past ten years I have not been able to hold down a job for more than a year or so, I have been hospitalized and I continue to have suicidal thoughts on a monthly basis - no attempts, well, only one when I went to the hospital. I'm tired of fighting the fight to stay at work or finding a job.
Avatar f tn I work but can't handle more than 40 hours in the two week pay period now. Actually, I give up other pieces of my life to keep working that many hours. The benefits and pay are essential to our household so I'll do whatever it takes for as long as I possibly can. It's the decreased endurance, inability to keep up with the multi-tasking pace and fatigue that make it tough. I need to take it slow a day or two after a work day.
Avatar f tn Good luck....BTW u can always apply for SSID and get back pay for the LTD but then they deduct what u get from SSID so it is not the full amount...they get u coming and going.
739070 tn?1338603402 It was actually easier to get SSDI than the LTD from the company I worked for. I actually went on STD first which only required a letter from my doctor. This lasted for 6 months. In the mean time my SSDI was approved and I got the LTD once the SSDI was approved. Every year I have to get a form filled out by my doctor to submit to the LTD insurance company. ( You would think that after over 20 years they would realize that as my doctors state I will not be able to go back to work ever).
1823499 tn?1370090289 Its 9 hr shifts on feet movin all day, but like i said i will only work at my own pace, not theres. Thank you all for listening. My chiarian family understands.
Avatar f tn Has anyone left their job on short term and then long term disability for syringomelia? I am finding it hard to work with all the pain and spasticity. My nuerologist recommended I do this and said he would support me. I am not sure if this condition qualifies since it is so rare. It qualifies on federal disability but it seems I would make too much from the LTD 60% pay to qualify in Georgia. Anyone has some experience in this?
Avatar m tn   The focus of this study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of sequential peginterferon α-2a (Pegasys) therapy for chronic hepatitis B with acute exacerbation [ALT > 10 × upper limit of normal (ULN), bilirubin 10 × ULN) plus Pegasys (180 μg/kg/week, when ALT was 5–10 × ULN) for 24 weeks. Thirteen HBeAg-negative patients (Group 2) had the same protocol for 48 weeks. In both groups, entecavir was then discontinued 14 days after the initiation of Pegasys.
Avatar f tn I can only answer one of your questions, that being about LTD. I have been on LTD for over 21 years. I think that they all specify that they will continue ( as long as you are still unable to work) until you reach the age of 65. As Ren stated I also had to apply for SSDI which I have been collecting for those 21 years also.
Avatar m tn t know your company policy or your state to determine what your STD or LTD is.

Avatar f tn Well, my work has been paying me to be off work for the last three years. Thought it was four, but, while filling out a form today, I discovered it was 2005 I went off work. They paid me short term disability for a year, or two, and the rest of the time was longterm. Last fall they sent me a letter asking me to apply for my Canada Pension Plan. I did.
Avatar f tn As risk assessments need to be put in place. So for my safety and baby I will be telling them soon.
382218 tn?1341181487 my doctor lost my LTD forms the first time I gave them to her. I had to call my insurer for an extra set and then I gave the forms directly to her secretary, who made sure the doc filled them out and retrieved them from the doctor to send to my insurance!
Avatar f tn There was one member that had a friend that used to work for SS and is trying to get them to pop on here to advise us on the best way to get it approved.
Avatar f tn So I have a patch leak and am still not cleared for work. My doctor said these often heal on their own and I can accept that, however, my disability runs out next week and I will be essentially unemployed. So here is why I am freaking out. Disability says they won't even consider an application unless you will be out for a year, unemployment says you have to be able to work. I applied and they already sent me something saying I had taken a leave of absence from work...
1515884 tn?1291673107 My husband has been out of work for two and a half years now. He is drawing LTD and they hired a company called Allsup I was wondering if anyone has used them? They have been working on his case for about a year.
Avatar m tn 27 AM WASHINGTON (AP) — The Obama administration has delayed by nearly a year a plan to boost safety standards for the type of rail car involved in a fiery explosion that killed at least 47 people in Canada this month. Officials began work on the rule more than a year before an oil train derailed and exploded in Quebec on July 6 — but the rule was never put in place.
572651 tn?1530999357 My employer (before LTD) does reasonable cause, post-incident and random testing for safety-sensitive positions. The substances we test for are very specific, and are only ones which have the potential to cause impairment (eg: cannabinoids, cocaine, opiates, etc) thus increasing the probability of the employee to cause an incident resulting in injury or death. In Canada, there is no other legally justifiable reason for employers to drug test their employers.
539750 tn?1226521677 At first he made it seem like I would get one or the other, but I interpret it to mean that the employee paid group short term disability insurance will pay a percentage of my salary in addition to the SDI to make up for lost wages… So let’s say I get 55% for SDI, then the short term disability insurance through my work would pay say, 45% to make up the difference so I get as close to my normal monthly paycheck as possible…is this right? What do you all think?
335728 tn?1331414412 I have never tried applying for insurance outside of what is provided to me as a benefit at work. For my group plan (incls. medical, short term disability, LTD, life insurance, AD&D) there was no medical required nor any exclusions based on health status; I was insured the first day of my job. I realize I am extremely lucky; I used to work for a non-profit at a much lower salary and pretty much zero benefits, so I was a dependent on my spouse's benefits.
427265 tn?1444076436 I think you will find that you will find the CBC, LFTs and other chemistry will be done all at the same time and are collectively known as 'safety bloods'. They are done for the express purpose of monitoring the effect the meds are having on your liver and your body. This way they can pick things up nice and early. I was on a trial for the first 8 weeks and we had safety bloods tests done every 3 days. After 4 weeks that went to weekly safety bloods.
Avatar n tn I work in a very small office and live the cubicle life, so it's hard to keep it a secret. I work as a probation officer so I told my boss at 5 weeks to ensure my own safety.
4478309 tn?1356061667 There are options other than what your doctor suggested, but the three he suggested all have stood the test of time, having been on the market for years. In general, all three have similar efficacy in the general population, but it's difficult to predict which ones will work or not work for a particular individual. If your first choice doesn't work, you can change later. They all have side effects; it's just a matter of which ones you can tolerate and mitigate.
4862508 tn?1360796307 Amethyst and forum members, Has anyone found the website for the company: Cardiovascular Research LTD. I wanted to find out where the ingredients are sourced from. I have been taking their MagTaurate 125mg supplement for 3 weeks and I am now feeling a tight pain intermittently in my chest. It is occurs within 1 hr after taking the supplement. My Dr says Mag/Taurate usually supports heart health. I obviously have quit using the supplement but I would like to contact the company.
