i have read an article stating how some people may have been exposed to the hiv virus (and hepatitis) because the hospital didnt use the proper sterilization on colonoscopy equipment. and another similar article that stated those that underwent ear, nose, and throat treatments were exposed too. how likely is someone to catch the hiv virus from a situation like this?

I would say wait a little and say something after you are about to show. UNLESSyou are in a work environment where people need to know for yours and baby's safety. For example, I am pregnant with me 2nd and I work in a pharmacy as a technician. My coworkers need to know because there are some drugs I can't handle for baby's safety. I'm only 8 weeks and they knew about 3 weeks ago. Just to take precautions!

No tattoo artist is going to reuse a needle on you. Believe me. They have been trained on safety precautions. They can't be an artist without passing tests and courses- these include bloodborne pathogen safety protocols. No one reused a needle on you. This can't even happen by accident. No one is going to leave a used needle laying around, pick it up, then use it on the next customer. This DOES NOT happen. Doing something like this places the artist at way more risk than the customer.

All the chemists use these chemicals daily outside on their benches without a hood but I try to use it always in the hood after I found out I was pregnant. Is it safe to stay working in the lab? I am not sure what the air level for these solvents are, but my supervisors keep saying that it is safe to stay working. please advice. I am not sure what my legal rights are?

its a few different areas on the roof of my mouth, lowest one being near my tonsils. I cannot remember if i burned my mouth on anything this weekend, all i know is i had a lot of different food late saturday night at a mexican restaurant. Does anyone know what it would look like if you slightly burned the roof of your mouth? i am hoping it is that and nothing more serious, but any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

When I started my job I was informed there was a person I'd be working with has hepatitis( can't remember which one but a bad one) she had told me shed talk to the boss bout me getting my shots. That was 5 months ago and I was ttc so I wasn't sure what to do. I hadn't worked with this lady more then a few time so I figured I'd wait. Well now I work with her 3+ times a week! Should start the round of shots now??

Many people on the forum have continued to work. Sometimes it depends on the type of work you do. If you have a sit down office job, that would make it easier to work than if you were a registered nurse working 12 hour shifts in ICU, a roofer climbing ladders and balancing on the roof edges, someone doing skyscraper construction, an electrician climbing poles or even connecting wires (the brain is not all there, LOL), doing any type of precision work.

My question is will it harm me in any way for staying on it? I dont want to cause any more problems for myself by staying on it but evidently I lack serotonin and the paxil replaces it. Any info that you might give me would be greatly appreciated.

(Four wood pegs on a board with four nails and wire wrapped around them) Plugged it into a extension chord and into wall(110), instead of the 9 v battery. Was thrown half way acrossed the room. No side effects from that so I think you'll be OK.

I know that I did not look at it for more than 2 seconds. After this happened I looked at the booklet for safety. Which it does say not to look directly into it. And to note that the laser was invisible to the naked human eye. I have not noticed anything since this happened an hour ago. I have tried searching to see if a laser from a computer mouse can cause vision damage but have found nothing solid.
