I've had the same problem all throughout my pregnancy. I'm 25 weeks right now. I use coconut oil... and also loreals total repair shampoo seems to be the only shampoo that doesn't make it worse. Hope this helps!

Just make sure the dandruff shampoo is okay'd by your dr. I know, crazy, it's just shampoo right? But personal care products can have things in them you shouldn't use, esp during first trimester. Motherrisk at Sick Kids can also help.

Nizeral, polytar and t gell shampoo are all great for dandruff. You could try nioxin shampoo. You get a 3 part system. Nioxin cleanser , scalp revitaliser ( conditioner) and scalp treatment. It is designed for thinning hair but would help your dandruff aswell. It will unblock blocked follicles to aid hair growth and also make the hair you have look thicker and stronger.

Be careful about what chemicals are in the anti dandruff shampoos. I don't know if they are safe to use during pregnancy.

Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.

after using any anti dandruff shampoo like clinic plus, head & shoulder my head ache starts. why? i use other shampoo also but only anti dandruff starts my head ache. i want to know which chemical affecting me?

My hairdresser told me that dandruff shampoo was making my flakes much worse. I switched to Neutrogena moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and my scalp has been salvaged as well as my hair. I still occasionally have flakes but they are few an far between.

It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. Yes I would suggest using a head and shoulders type shampoo for dandruff (you may not have dandruff but the itchyness can be apart of that) if it persists, I'd suggest maybe going to the doctors, they may be able to prescribe something for it.

s not mites or walking dandruff. Advantage multi kill many mites so were playing safe. We now have moved on thinking its a fungal infection, it's only making one pup really lose hair the other two have the itch but aren't losing near as much hair.

Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
