sad eyes rouse

Baby seems to sleep almost 24 hours per day at age 24 days. Eyes not open at birth and continue to be closed except for a few minutes per day. Cannot rouse baby by patting face, tickling feet, speaking in loud voice, etc. Does this indicate any particular problem? 30 AM, it hurts and I have to try to get into a comfortable spot in bed. After I get up, move around, and eat, I'm fine. No weight loss, yellow eyes, blood in stool or anything. Sometimes, though, I may feel a fullness in that area (doesn't hurt). My GI dr. dismissed me - doesn't believe it is intestinal (I suggested an endoscope, since I have a colonoscopy coming up). My primary suggested a CT, but I don't want to jump into another one of those (more radiation).

I was just diagnosed at 47 years old with Dry AMD in both eyes. The Retina Specialist I saw was of no help and told me, "don't worry you won't go blind", take PreserVision, and come back in 6 months. After my visit I asked for my records and found out on my own that I also have possible CNV in the right eye, cataracts in both eyes, confluent soft drusen, and RPE changes. The doctor also stated in my file that he discussed the use of the Amsler grid with me but he never did.

I really doubt that he was able to bump his head hard enough to cause damage. My 6 mos was dropped by her sister from a level approximate to that of a dining chair and she landed on her head. While she was pretty cranky for awhile (and who wouldn't be with a headache) she was perfectly fine. I know the signs of a concussion and watched for them, never took her to the doc. It really boils down to what YOU are comfortable with.

It shouldn't affect the baby at all in the womb, and your doctor will talk about delivery options if you are still infected at birth. The biggest risk of chlamydia is that it can infect something in the baby's eyes and blind it. BUT most hospitals routinely treat newborn babies eyes just in case so it should be fine. You should still be able to deliver vaginally.

Keep an eye on baby and if you notice any unsoithabls crying, drowsiness. Not being able to rouse him from naps ect. You know your baby and you know when something isn't right.

I let my fiancées Mom take the baby for a bit so I can rest and my fiancee and I can go to dinner but now I'm really sad.. I tried to sleep but couldn't because I'd open my eyes and my son wouldn't be next to me :( I've cried this entire time.. Is this normal?

Hi Molly this is so sad, how did u get this info? Wasn't this Dr a true Chiari specialist? How could they not check for veins....I know my was as well as nerves were on what TCI calls Dopplar mapping this is done thru out surgery.... We need to stand up and scream Chiari Malformation is not insignificant !

I understand how you feel. I had crossed eyes also when I was younger but I had surgery and now my eyes are near perfect - nobody notices anything now. I dont know if that is an option for you but it helped me greatly. My surgery was done in Durham, NC at Duke Eye Center.

My heart breaks for my friend. Her 5 year old leaned onto a screened window and the screen fell out and he fell out the 3rd story window. He passed away after a few hours of fighting. I can't stop bawling my eyes out for this poor momma. Please keep her in your prayers and mommies love your babies the best you can, you never know when you will be without them.

Are you able to rouse her at all during these multiple-hour spells, either by calling her name or touching her? Is her body stiff or limp during the spells, or does it vary? Have you called paramedics when this has happened before? If so, did they try smelling salts to rouse her? Did that work? Did they try sternal rub (rubbing her chest vigorously with their knuckles)? Did that work? Did they lift her eyelids and examine her pupils? Do you remember what they said about her pupils?

It's so sad to you ladies posting about babies and I feel like I wanna start crying. Lost my baby this last Sunday I was only 11weeks and 6 days. I've never been through anything like this and when I say it's heart broken and hard to coupe with. I went to the doctor yesterday and everyone there that is came for check up or finding out what they are having their face is all brighten up while am sitting there with tears in my eyes and sadness in my heart.

I was stirring up right through the after dark, in pain and at times in tears. I would rouse up in the early feeling like I’d been bang by a truck. Icing my knees and taking pain medication before going to bed has wrapped up more for alleviating the hurt than just about any kind else. Take Tylenol before departure for the trip. Hi everyone, I had endoscopic Orbital decompression on Dec 17th (a bit less than 3 weeks ago)... the day and week after the surgery was performed everything looked great, my eyes were flat and normal, no swollen at all. However as day passed they are looking the same again: bulgy eyes, puffy eyelids... they started to get bigger and sore again... can someone tell me is this expected? I am very scared and sad...

Hi scherpie... I certainly can't explain why your eyes might be changing color, but I can at least tell you that I have had eye issues since beginning treatment too. I get my imterferon shot on Fridays, and about three hours after the shot, my eyes are super light sensitive and I have a difficult time seeing. I usually go to bed on friday afternoon in a darkened room.....and sleep through until the next day. As the weekend wears on, my eyes seem to adjust back to being able to see better.

im so sad to hear little boys eyes are still so bad.....the kitten(s) likely have FIP, this can manifest itself in any organ of the body depending on their immune systems...if it affects the eyes they likely become blind:( So I do desperately hope this isn't what they have and its just conjunctivitis. Bless your good soul for trying your best to care for these little ones..is there a no kill shelter that would take the family in and give them the medical care they need?
