Avatar f tn re already active it is fine to keep doing your regular workouts.. just monitor your heart rate, try not to get above 150. I asked her if boot camp classes and spin is still okay (by two favorite) she said as long and I'm monitoring I can do whatever I feel like as long as it is safe and I am not over heating (no more kick boxing).
Avatar f tn I'm 14 weeks. In two days I'll be 15 weeks. I stopped running when I found out I was expecting. Super excited. Before I was pregnant I use to run 1/2 marathons and run 5 miles a day. I did my first slow jog this evening, 2 miles. I felt great but now I'm weak and nausous. Is this normal?
Avatar n tn Hi! I want to stay active too but I live in a really hot climate so I've stopped my usual exercise of running 4-5 times a week, instead I've started walking around 8km a day (5 before work and 3 after). It helps that I have a fat dog. Also doing free weights for 15/20 mins a day. I'm surprised that I've noticed a difference from walking every day.
Avatar f tn I used to think running meant running forever and at a fast rate like a speed racer. But as long as your heart is pumping, and you don't over-exert your limits, running slower at a longer distance is always your best bet! It burns more calories!
Avatar f tn Out door running and some basic workouts combined with high intensity intervals...something like mountain climber, jumping jacks, jump rope, switch kicks, burpes, squat jumps, push ups, and belt kicks....at the top of my head...
Avatar f tn For the last three weeks I have tried this as well as weight training 3 x a week. In my cardio workouts I do 30 second intervals of running or steep inclines with a face paced walk in between. Before I would exhaust myself and not want to do it anymore. This way is tiring but it's not the same kind of tiring, it is recommended by trainers....
Avatar f tn While this may help you exercise harder, it can have adverse effects on your stomach, making you feel nauseous and causing your stomach to heave out whatever is in it because it cannot continue to digest it. If you are running in very hot weather or have not hydrated properly, this can be more pronounced. Cooling down after running can help to reduce nausea that leads to vomiting.
Avatar f tn Running is a great way to burn fat fast and it helps your core. I also recommend workouts such as the "Spartacus" or T25 workouts. These are videos of quick 20 min workouts that are intense but burn a lot of calories and they work your entire core. Take a peek at these on YouTube they are great and they work.
Avatar f tn I've had the same problem my whole first trimester. I'm almost in my second as well so I hope to start working out again soon. In the meantime I go to the pool when I can and do some swimming and stuff.

Avatar n tn Because when you run you usually have your mouth open and when your mouth dries out so does your tongue and when that happend as your breath goes down your throat it continues to dry and it causes gaggin the best thing you can do is get yoursef some lemon drops and suck on them when your running. Carry a bottle of water and have a proper breakfast every morning you run. It can occur if you are having any respiratory problems such as asthma.

The evidence is that stretching improves running, however as a runner you should stretch hamstrings, calf, gluts, and hip flexors almost daily to ensure good range of motion in your hips. Lose weight if you need it!
193609 tn?1292180293 on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I currently go to my local rec center to workout. My workouts there consist of running alternating with walking on the treadmill. (Gotta be ready for the upcoming race season). I am not about super bursts of speed, but rather distance, so I never leave before completing at least a 5K (3.1 miles) while I am there, although I am currently inching toward the 4 mile mark.

My friend's mom says though that her mother's inhaler had steriods in them, like it comes with albuteral or somethin'. Is this just mythical, or am I becoming victim of false advertisement? (I'd rather just take it easy than that, if possible.
Avatar n tn Since this occurs while lifting weights and not during cardio, it is very likely due to stimulation of your vagal nerve. When you lift weights and hold your breath during the actual lift, you 'bear down' (a bit similar to being on the toilet). This triggers pressure on the vagal nerve which slows the heart temporarily. Vagal nerve reflexes are particularly sensitive in young athletic males.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your response, (I think) lots of serious possibilities that can cause one to become chronically worried....:) OPC-Oligomeric Proanthocyanidans- is a daily super antioxident blend from cell essentials. It is a Isotonic and effervescent formula for better absorption. I've been taking it on and off for 3 years now and I totally believe in it...
Avatar n tn I am a 36 year old male. For about two years I have been running. I have mostly just ran 5k's but havine been training for a marathon in April. I am running about 30-37 miles a week, with a long run of about 2 hours on Saturdays. My heart rate sometimes gets into the 90% range of my MHR. Before I started running, on a regular docotr visit about 6 years ago they found a heart murmur. I had a normal ekg and echo. They said not to worry about it. I also had a normal stress test back then.

I did them for a good 6 months before my Wedding and I was in the best shape of my life...every part of my body was toned to perfection and I felt great! They worked and they are FUN! So it makes you want to stick with it. I did those along with my Winsor Pilates tapes because Pilates always relaxed me and made my body more flexible.

Avatar m tn I have both and take beta blockers. I exercise probably 5 or 6 days a week. I do cardio workouts, strength training, free weights and yoga. I don't guess I qualify as an athlete but I do pretty good workouts. At first I was terrified when my heart rate went up and I must admit that there are still times it kinda bothers me. But I'm trying really hard not to let this control my life.
