Running foot tendinitis

Common Questions and Answers about Running foot tendinitis

foot

Avatar f tn Initially it consisted of either walking or bike riding, but then I hit a plateau and I decided to finally try running and since November, I have been training to run. I have been doing it slow and am still at a run-walk (where I'll jog for so long and then stop when it gets too strenous and walk).
Avatar m tn Hello i have been walking on my tip toes ever since i can remember and now i am 15 and still do it. I got Achilles Tendinitis last year just from running and for about 10 weeks I was stretching my Achilles tendon but i was still walking on my toes. When I go on flat foot my feet starts to hurt and i go back up. I looked at my tendons and they looked really tight. My question is should I get surgery for my tendons and if it is a safe procedure?
Avatar f tn I developed a sore foot after walking several weeks. Then I dropped a pretty heavy bottle of water right on the spot the hurts - on top of the right foot. Now I have a quarter sized hard lump in that exact area and it hurts to walk. The lump is approximately in line with my second toe and it's a little more than half way down the hop of the foot. It only hurts when I walk - not at rest. Help!
Avatar f tn Hi, I know there are several related questions on the boards but haven't found any with responses after more information was supplied. I am a long distance runner, and have been for years, but recently have been having left knee pain. I had an MRI, which revealed a non-displaced longitudinal tear of the posterior horn of the medial meniscus.
Avatar n tn i have severe pain in my left leg, i didnt sustain any injury to it, Im not able to walk over 50 feet without the pain being so severe,as long as Im at rest there isnt any pain, Im unable to get up off the floor without help I limp all the time and I cant climb stairs without left foot first and down the stairs right foot first and only one stair at a time, It has caused me to fall alot Im 58 Years old
338416 tn?1420045702 s quite foot drop yet, but I certainly have to *think* about lifting my foot up. They make a foot brace that would hold my foot up, but it's plastic and clunky. I don't think I would have started running again if it wasn't for the weight. I get so frustrated, because I'm really trying to restrict my calories, and it doesn't do a bit of good. Working out on the trainer was exercise, but it just wasn't enough. I'm starting to wonder if I have a thyroid problem.
Avatar m tn for the last four years I have been experiencing sharp pain on the outside of my right knee starting usually after running about 3 miles. no pain when I am not running. It comes on gradually but I eventually need to stop running. The pain is located in the vicinity of the lateral meniscus and is most intense when my foot is off the ground and my leg moving forward. I have had no major injury to this knee. What is going on? is there anything I can do?
18870592 tn?1469110523 Same feeling in the morning when I first wake up and the blood rushes to my foot. Foot and ankle appear to operate fine, but when I try to rotate my foot out outward (more so when up or down), its almost like stretching a cut or scabbed up flesh. Tendinitis, tear, thoughts? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I finally have my diagnosis. Besides tendinitis in many areas of my foot, I have been diagnosed with sensorimotor peripheral neuropathy. Cipro (and all other fluoroquinolone antibiotics) are known for causing irreversible peripheral neuropathy and it is NOT rare. Tendinitis and peripheral neuropathy happen frequently. Cipro (and Levaquin, Avelox, etc) are extremely dangerous antibiotics and should not be taken unless all other antiobiotics that could kiil the germs have been tried.
Avatar m tn All is well and good but am trying to significantly minimize my time on the computer so that the tendinitis in my arms and hands will hopefully start to heal. Hope everyone is doing as well as possible under their individual circumstances.
Avatar f tn My doctor said thay i have chronic tendinitis in both ankles. It was so then yhat she reduced my hours at work from 8 to 5. I can be on my feet for about 3 hours then if i sit down for thirty seconds, and get back up, I'm in excruciating pain with swelling. I hop around on the less hurting ankle to try balancing and dragging the other ankle until i can bear the pain to walk. It's a nightmare when i sit down in the car, get home and try to get in the house to my cane. Please help me.
Avatar m tn I understand they take blood pressure multiple times and put in an IV. Problem is, I have long standing and severe tendinitis with significant nerve involvement in both upper extremities, running from fingers all the way up to the neck, jaw, tongue, and beyond. And it is highly sensitive to squeezing pressure. Had a mammogram ca. 5 years ago and have never been the same since. Similar problem in the legs, but not as bad -- yet.
Avatar n tn I'm a 24 year old 120lb female who works out moderately. Almost a year ago when on a short run, I started feeling this sharp pain in my right knee towards the lower, outside area. I used to run track for years and never had any knee issues. It started out of no where and ever since, if I go on a run for longer than .75 mile, I get the same sharp pain again.
Avatar n tn Tendinitis is what my aunt is suffering from, plz advise on what food or exercise to do or medication to use
Avatar n tn I am experiencing, sharp pain that runs from my buttocks down the back of both my thighs when running, and also when initially first standing after a prolonged period of sitting or laying down. This pain noticeably inhibits my stride when either running or when attempting to walk fast. This has been going on now for a couple of months. Some days are worse then others, but it appears to have become chronic.
556637 tn?1249785348 In February, it suddenly came on during a soccer game, but only in my right foot. It got so bad I was dreading walking to the kitchen. I had pain throughout the day, and it was, by far, the worst case I have ever had. Needless to say, I was walking on the outside of my foot to avoid the pain. This only caused more issues. The outside of my foot began grinding/cracking when walking. Also, I have pain on the outside of my heel, between my calcaneus and the base of my 5th metatarsal.
Avatar n tn After that, running and jumping has caused much pain in my knee. I went to an athletic trainer and they told me I had tendinitis and to ice and take ibuprofen. It continues to be very painful during practice. I can feel rubbing and clicking in my knee when I walk. What is wrong with my knee? Should I still be playing basketball or will it make it worse?
Avatar f tn She shot above my ankle and I felt the numbness go down my foot and wrap around under my foot right where the pain was. She determined it was a nicked nerve from the biopsy all that time ago. She said we might have to remove the nerve. what kind of doctor is the best for that procedure? Will I loose the use of my foot or feeling? I cant have this dr do the surgery because she is not on my plan. ( She was my 2nd opinion) My podiatrist has a couple of people.
Avatar f tn I have extreme pain in my knee and calf while running. It also hurts to bend down and then stand back up. I also have discomfort walking up and down stairs, and sometimes walking. I don't know what it is but I would really appreciate some help and answers. Thanks.
739070 tn?1338603402 Has anyone suffered from brachilis tendinitis? I went to PT today to see why my left shoulder arm are aching and causing non-stop pain. I was afraid it was a frozen shoulder , which I was told I am headed for anyway from the weakness in my left arm and the atrophy . The other option I could think of was a rotator cuff tear. Thankfully she ruled both of those out and said I had brachilis tendinitis. Add this to the slowing resolving pneumonia and fatigue and I doing jimmy-dandy.
Avatar n tn It first started one day after practice. I spoke to my mother and she said that it probably was nothing and that I was running too much and stressed it. So I didn’t think anything of it, until it started to progress and I couldn’t bare any weight. During this time period I continued to use ice and heat. However, nothing seemed to help. I have been to the emergancy room several times, only to take x-rays. I finally saw an orthopedic and she sent me for x-rays as well.
Avatar m tn Other health issues like thyroid disease can also bring on foot, leg, and hand pain - I also have this. Custom foot Orthodics also help but not alone- the good ones start at $200 a pair. The flimsy $10 ones offer no support.

Avatar f tn My husband has had tendinitis for quite some time. It comes and goes. I have also had tendinitis that comes and goes away on it's own. My husband now has a lump on his elbow about the size of a marble, maybe a tiny bit bigger than a marble. I never heard of a lump forming due to tendinitis - would this be normal? The lump is hard and painful to him when I tried feeling the lump. I told him several times to call the doctor, but he thinks it's just tendinitis.
