593530 tn?1263847957 How long it took to get rid of virus? my daugter is 4 weeks old and she got RSV. She was hospitalized for 3 days and was being monitored for her oxygen levels. She is still coughing a lot and its hard to watch her. Doc said it can take upto a month or 2 to fully recover.
Avatar f tn Hi there. Just fyi, UTI's are not contagious. :>) Impossible to catch that from her. As to a respiratory infection---- well, if it is an infection, that also is something less contagious. We pass viruses back and forth. So, if she has a cold, that is something you could catch. If it is an infection and she is on antibiotics, it is probably a cold that turned into a secondary infection. meaning, the mucus got trapped in her chest or sinuses and then became bacterial.
Avatar f tn Dif your son cough last long after the virus
Avatar n tn One more thing, the best thing you could do is keep removing the warts and have a healthy life style, sleep well, eat healthy food, stop smoking & alcohol use if you do, have multi vitamins especially those contain vitamin C & follic acid and do regular excercises... this is best to help your immune get more strength...
1346146 tn?1299360497 Oh man that is rough! RSV is very contagious and can be very damaging so I'm glad they caught it early!

Avatar m tn How long before I have herpes outbreak am I contagious to a male partner, through oral and vaginal sex?
Avatar n tn I am a 25 yr old female who has had Genital Herpes for 3 years, I often get recurrences where I suffer from blisters and I would like to know how long I am contagious for during these recurrences
969557 tn?1314370614 I would always be on the safe side and figure yes I am contagious. How long have you been on treatment? And the virus can come back - viral breakthrough. Not trying to scare you, but if you have not had a pcr since week 4, you need to get one.
Avatar m tn RSV ( Respiratory synctial virus) is an antibody test that detects antibodies against RSV virus thats related to a respiratory infection. Lets wait till other experts comment on your query.
Avatar m tn I have done a lot of research and know it can take up to 2 years for your body to fight the HPV virus and even if the warts are not present you can still transmit the virus. How long should one wait to have sex with a new sexual partner after treatment? Am I still contagious for those 2 years? Is the virus less contagious after warts have been treated? Can I give genital warts to a man through a blowjob?
973741 tn?1342342773 but Influenza is excruciatingly painful (and RSV was not painful but is the only virus I went to an ER fearing death.) I fear Influenza so much I have been doing masks and Listerine for years but all it takes is that one exposure (RSV) during a lapse in following my own advice. I am curious whether Influenza could be eradicated in the future.
Avatar f tn There's a good reason why lots of people are confused about how long mono is contagious. That's because the way mono works within the body is tricky. Mono is short for mononucleosis. It is caused by an infection with the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), a virus in the herpes family of viruses. Once someone gets mono, the virus stays in that person's body for life. But this doesn't mean that if you've had mono you are always contagious.
Avatar f tn This could be asthma and it could be related to the respiratory syntactical virus (RSV). However, you or your son’s doctors should not assume that asthma or cough-variant asthma is the diagnosis. Other causes of nocturnal cough should be investigated including, but not limited to, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), chronic rhinitis and sinusitis and cystic fibrosis (CF). He may need to be seen by a pediatric pulmonologist.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with low risk HPV a year and a half ago. I never had treatment for the purpose of not being able to afford it. At first I had cauliflower like warts and after a month, they were replaced with flesh toned warts. I'm sorry for being too graphic. So fast forward to now.... I have the same warts from a year and a half ago and I haven't had any new ones. This probably sounds stupid but am I still contagious?
Avatar f tn to get thick in sinuses, bronchial tubes or lungs and then that festered into an infection that you need antibiotics to treat. The initial virus is contagious and for how long varies. Usually a week, I'd say. Pneumonia can be contagious until about 48 hours into antibiotics (the viral kind that some will have treated with antibiotics any way). So, does that long winded info above answer your question?
Avatar n tn ve read there is research showing that the Enterovirus have been found in people with Type 1 diabetes but this study was done in children not adults. And two years is way too long for her to be contagious from a virus that last roughly 10 days. But if you are showing signs and symptoms of diabetes I would get that checked out by your family doctor. Do you have a family history of it? Are you obese? do you have any other symptoms?
Avatar n tn Now I know herpes is extremely contagious, but is it contagious if both parties already have the virus? Like my boyfriend and I both have HSV1, if we kiss and the next day I get a cold sore, is he at risk for getting one as well? Or is that because he already has the virus, his outbreaks are determined by his own body? Or if I use accidentally use a chap stick I once used on a past cold sore, will that cause me an outbreak?
Avatar m tn My lab test shows that I HBsAG reactive? Is it curable? If if is?How long? and what medication or further lab should undergo to become totally free from this virus..Is it contagious? I am married my wife is negative to HepB test..But still am worried baka makahwa ako.Pls help me..
Avatar f tn My question is now that I have this is how long should I wait to conceive or try to conceive another baby? My husband and I want one more but I'm not sure how long to wait. I know I'm suppose to wait for my body to build some antibodies from the virus and I don't want to do anything to harm a future baby. I've read about proper care during pregnancy with HSV1 but I'm still confused on the conception part... Please Help!
