I was in the ER a year ago because I felt like I was suffocating to death, and was hearing crackles in my chest. RSV B virus according to the nasal aspiration test lab results. (RSV-a pleasant way to die-you slowly suffocate but don't have any of the nasal sinus throat pain that comes with flu.)
Xrays were negative but oxygenation rate was 85% and they gave me oxygen and an Albuterol nebulizer treatment, discharged home with antibiotics and an inhaler.
4 weeks ago I noticed a yellowish bump on my throat. My child had RSV and a co-worker had strep which I had been exposed to. I also started a new CPAP machine therapy at a much higher pressure than I had previously. I had been feeling dizzy and had a mild sore throat and mailasie. 10 days ago I went to doctor who swabbed my throat and put me on antibiotic even though strep test was negative. I completed the treatment but the bump has not gone away.
He has always been a little snorty/congested, but when he got a mild case of RSV in February the runny nose never seemed to go away. I have taken him to several allergists. He did have the skin test which came back negative. One doc. said he needed to be treated for nasal infections (each test seemed to show a different bacteria) but after several rounds of different antibiotics I didn't feel comfortable and left that doc.
I just had my son at 33 weeks 6 days. If anyone on here has had preemies before my question is how long after you brought baby home did you stay in the house? I didn't get a definite answer from my doctor or the hospital. He is now almost 3 weeks and doing well just above 6 pounds. I've heard other moms say right away is okay another said one year!!! I have errands and appointments plus my 5 year old has to be taken and picked up from school during the week.
She called me asking if I could go over and help her because she has been home alone and her husband is gone for work for a week. I asked her what she was sick with and she has rsv which is really contagious. And I don't wanna risk me and my baby. I'm almost 37 weeks. So I told her I can't because I don't want to risk it for me and my baby. And I've been trying to find someone that's nit pregnant that would be willing to.

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!
My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???
Drinking a lot of liquids is vital as liquids help to stimulate the flow of mucus and dilute it to an extent. Washing nasal passages with a saline solution on a regular basis also helps to wash away the bacteria and foreign particles which may be lodged there. Use steroid nasal sprays after a saline wash as they tend to act better. Practice breathing exercises and do steam inhalations.

In 2008 she had 4 Pneumonias, Bronchiolitis, Bronchitus, 3 sinus infections, RSV, and an ear infection, she also had several viral infections. She has 3 confirmed diagnosis' ; GERD, Asthma, and mild Laryngo malasia. Her doctor suspected a T.E. fistula ( H formation ) but saw no evidence of this.
I have had chronic sinus problems for years and tried just about every thing. I found a cure in nasal lavage (sinus washing) this can be done with over the counter nasal saline sprays or they make sinus irrigation instruments and Nettio Pots to keep the sinus moist and clean and unplugged. For me truly a miracle. Before I was on Afrin and steroid nasal spays and oral antibiotics each year.

Yes you can get staph from him. You. Can get it if you use the same towel he does. Usually with time and meds it will go away. He can be tested to see if he's a carrier of the virus. A nasal swab will tell you if he's a carrier Some people are carriers and it will come back.
my baby has RSV. I felt sick a little before we found out she had it and then a cople days later I got a cold do you think that could be it? and thank you.
Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?
