He is on Advair, 115/21 two puffs twice daily, and Allegra (for unknown allergies).

(crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

Ok I have 4 children 13 male 11 female 3 female and 2 female, all but the 2 year old have severe medical problems. they all kinda start the same first came the eczema then breathing problems then severe infections. my 2 oldest children have had chicken pox more then a handful of times, each child has had pnuemonia at least 10 time most of the time being hospitalized, their ige levels are all above 70000, my sons list of medical problems are he was born with ...

Hello, my daughter, age 3, had a bronchoscopy and CT scan after repeated bouts of pneumonia in the same spot, right middle lobe. This all started after a severe RSV/pneumonia hospitalization as an infant. Her CT scan was read as "mild bronchiectasis" in the right middle lobe, same spot as her atelectasis. We know for sure that her last bout of pneumonia in march never fully cleared, b/c we did X-rays every 3 months. So she's had this atelectasis spot for quite awhile now.

My question is what would cause high fevers all the time with no answer and would you recommened a speacialist in pediartics?

My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???

My son had rsv and the hospital kept him and thankfully we were released in a few hours because his breathing was better.its scary to do that at home, honestly they should of kept him he's only an infant ! Please contact a doctor I honestly don't think he should be home my son was two months old when he had it, and my husband ask if we can go home with him and they told us some pretty scary stuff .

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

I have a four month old son who got RSV along with the whole household in early February. We live at altitude (7200) feet, but the baby did well--- one night of observation in the hospital, where his O2 sats were 96-97 when he was being held or was upright, but would fall when sleeping or laying down into the mid-80s. So, he went on oxygen. Two months later he is still failing every overnight oxygen study in order to get him off nighttime oxygen.

s been very active since August but has left many children in the hospital and most are in the intensive care unit!!! An average of 4/5 days to stay, some even more. I am worried about my children at school a 2nd grader and a kindergartener. If they are exposed, so will my youngest children, 4 year old, 3 year old, 14 month old and I am almost 34 weeks pregnant. There is no cure, there is no shot and of course antibiotics do not work against any virus.

It would not be possible to make a comment without having a look at lesions and also medications in young children should be taken under a certified doctor's supervision. He has always been a little snorty/congested, but when he got a mild case of RSV in February the runny nose never seemed to go away. I have taken him to several allergists. He did have the skin test which came back negative. One doc. said he needed to be treated for nasal infections (each test seemed to show a different bacteria) but after several rounds of different antibiotics I didn't feel comfortable and left that doc.

I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?

So I have a dilemma. My husband and I have a 13 month old son and we don't have any close by family or friends that can stay with him during delivery....anyone know hospital policy on young children in the delivery room? I can call my parents once I know I'm for sure in labor but they live 5-6 hours away and I truly don't want to have to labor/deliver alone while my husband stays with our son. Any advice??

her doctor told me to get a humidifier and put it in the same room as the baby and turn or you could also turn on the hot water and get it steamy in there while you have your baby in there and that could help also, i did both of those thing with her and it helped alot!! also use salt water and squeeze it up your childs nose and suction it all out and do that before and after feedings and before bed also and when your baby wakes up . if your baby does not clear up in like 2.

Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!

My grandchildren(2-3-4) were taken to ER cause of the same thing.Got this test and that done(no dehydration) and they said they had infectious diarreah.Not all the tests were back yet when they were told they could go home. Wouldn't ya know though..once they were in the ER they didn't all act sick.2 of them had spewed in the truck on the way there. They had been sick like yours for 3 weeks. Off and on this was going on.Gotta check back with my daughter abt the labs.

everytime I wake up in the morning I feel sick and when I am throwng up it is nothing really just stomach acid I guess. and it seems to me it is getting worse. I am just wondering what it could be. I had a baby 5 months ago, and I dont have a doctor to go get a physical.

One of my friends new born baby was diagnosed with rsv she is only a month old she is still in the hospital. And last night her 2 year old got bit by a dog. She was rushed to the er . She has to save surgery this morning if you can please say a prayer for this family.

I brought him in on Friday morning to be checked out and it turns out he caught a virus called Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), which is basically an infection of the lungs. Even writing this I break in tears to see my little one suffer so much. It's more like a common cold in adults but for kids his age is more like Bronchiolitis. I had to take him to the ER because of the fever and congestion.

Take her to doctor, her oxygen level might be low, there is RSV a virus children get, she needs to get checked!!
