Avatar f tn Yes, you “should look into things.” It is not normal to have repeated bouts of fever. RSV in infancy is common and may predispose to asthma or frequent lung infections. You should ask his doctor if there is any sign of lung damage from the RSV. The good news is that, in most instances of RSV resulting in frequent bouts of croup or other respiratory infection, that frequent lung problems with fever are eventually “outgrown.
Avatar f tn She emailed that if you baby has a cough with no fever, please take them to get checked for RSV. My DD is 6 months old and has had a chronic cough for a long time. It seems to get better and then starts all over again. I have taken to the doctor for it three times, the last time a week ago today. Everytime they check her really good and say it is just drainage from a cold. She has not had any fever and feels good. Last night her cough seemed a little worse, but she still feels great.

490418 tn?1209523379 My 6yr old son died due to complication from RSV in Feb. 2008. He did get Synagis until his third winter. He was in the hospital for most of RSV season his first two years and did not get RSV. The next year we were denied Synagis due to the cost. He ended up on a vent in the PICU for a week. The following winter he spent 10 days in the hospital with RSV. This year he spent the first week in PICU and the next two week on Eccmo. He died on his 6th birthday. We never even heard of RSV IG.
Avatar f tn My six month old has RSV! He was tested positive for it two days ago. He is not eating much at all and on amoxicillin. His fever is gone now but he is still breathing fast and still very raspy! The hospital told me that RSV would not affect his appetite it was because his nose was stuffed up???? How long does it usually take for his breathing to get better?? I always thought that most babies with RSV were hospitalized. Isnt there something else they could give him to improve his breathing.
Avatar f tn s still within the age range of being at risk for getting RSV. Since his older brother had it when he was 9 months old it was so scary I dislike the winters because I fear every cold/cough they get. Has the RSV season begun already? My kids just started getting this cough, all of them have been just fine even my 3 yo until an hour ago...7pm. He has been breathing rapidly (53) since then but he doesn't have a fever or crying. He's sitting down now watching a video now.
Avatar f tn I just had my beautiful son on Nov 30 th! And already he is sick! My baby was taking to hospital 3days ago. Avatar n tn My husband and I lost our 4 1/2 month old daughter to RSV complicated by Bacterial Pneumonia. She was born healthy with no problems or complications. She had a cough since the first of October 2002. We took her to the doctor 3 times, Oct. 7th, Oct. 28 and & Dec. 26th. The doctor didn't treat her at all for any of the problems that we had advised him that she had been having. Her last visit was Dec . 26th. She had fever Christmas night and we took her the very next day.
593530 tn?1263847957 I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.
Avatar f tn Since last June he has ran a temp at least once a month(usually more). He was treated for RSV about 2 weeks ago and is also being treated for asthma symptoms. He finished a round of antibotics about a week ago and as of last Friday has started running fever again. It generally runns between 99-101 but has recently started rising to 103-104.5(it was 104.5 when I took him to the hosp and he tested positive for RSV).
Avatar n tn 10 week old - adm. with RSV..1 yr old - adm. with RSV...1 yr old - adm. with bronchitis..2 yr old - adm. with neumonia, then for colapsed lung, then for double pneumonia. Everytime it was between Nov. and Feb. Then, on Sat. Sept. 8th he developed a fever with no other symptoms. The fever lasted until Sun. evening. I started giving him albuteral and took him to the doctors on Mon.The doc said his lungs were clear and the fever gone but had ulcers in his mouth.
Avatar f tn if not then it might just be cold drs will worry if the baby develops a fever or bad cough.
172826 tn?1423422956 he was happy after that so i tried him out for daycare he had a slight fever but had very red cheeks..well his fever was low grade but still a fever and he had the same liquid come up at daycare and after seeing the dr.. anyways the dr said...well the dr at the clinic said his lungs were perfectly clear...but yet he's wheezing alot and gurgling noises from his chest however that both his ears were sligh ear infections and that was probably why the fever came on...
Avatar f tn My Son is 4 years old. He has had a fever for one week, going up to 103. Tylenol and Motrin always brings it down. He has tested negative for Influenza A, Strep, RSV, Chest Xray is clear, and Urine is clear. He has not had any bloodwork yet. What else could this possibly be?
Avatar f tn I'm in the er with my husband & daughter. She's 6 months & has a fever of 104.2. I don't know what's wrong, but Def am scared!! Such a high fever for a little baby. I'm waiting for the Dr now.
Avatar f tn I'm so tired and frustrated!!! DD gets sick every 4-5 weeks!! She is running a fever again, has a wet cough and a runny nose. She was just sick in the beginning of December and in the end of October bofore that. I'm beginning to wonder if I'm doing something wrong. She is not in daycare so she cannot be getting it from the other kids. She rarely comes in contact with other kids (other than her brother who also stays home full time). What the heck is going on???
1712422 tn?1443337501 On Thursday she had a high fever with no explanations. At around 7 p.m. or so I decided to take her temp and it was reading 105.5, so we rushed to the ER…they took her temp there rectally and got a reading of 106*F We did Flu, RSV, and blood cultures….mysteriously enough they ALL came back negative and CLEAN!!!! Truly a mystery as to why her fevers were running so high!
Avatar n tn My daughter was 7 weeks early. Since she was a premature the Dr.s made it mandatory she get RSV shots. This helps the child from getting ill, It sound like if your child did not get these shots he might be getting symptoms of RSV. Here are some I know of: having a simple clear runny nose and occasional cough that can be treated at home, to severe difficulty breathing that may require hospitalization. Other symptoms might include a low-grade fever, sore throat, headache, and irritability.

Avatar f tn RSV is one thing that I am really worried about. That is why I have taken Anna to the doctor 3 different times for the same cough. They always say her lungs are clear and have never even mentioned RSV to me. She feels fine during the day and is eating well. She has no fever and isn't seeming to have trouble breathing. Do you think she could still have RSV? My reason for not going back to the doctor is that where I live, flu and a serious stomach virus are really bad.
Avatar f tn I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?
Avatar n tn So I took my DD to the docotr yesterday due to severe chest congestion, she also has a very runny nose and a fever. Well he did a nose swab on her because he thinks she might have RSV. HAs anybody out there experienced with any of thier children or know of somebody who has. I am still waiting for the docotr to call with the results but she seems to be getting worse. I looked some onfo on the internet but you guys on here are so informative so I thought I would ask.
