My 3 month baby had RSV when he was 6 weeks old, but since then, he has a phlegm sound, that is always there.

From what I was told that if you baby wasn't premature or have a cardiac history then having RSV most likley is going to be mild. here is what you should loook for for worseing things, my son had it when he was 5 weeks old and he does have a cardiac issue so I hope your little one is healthy. look for bluish on the lops nail and nail bed. your little one really struggling to breathe if his nostrils are moving back and forth as well as him "sucking in " at his ribs.

Is oxygen stats were 96 when they r normaly 100. the docs did a exam and a culture from his nose for RSV. after a few hours they had us go home and I was told to keep fluids in him and fever down. I got a call an hour later saying he has RVS but he will be fine. Sunday came and my son still had fever and was drinking but not a lot. He was still coughing and sneezing and he did have wheezing. he wnet to bed that night and never woke up he died some time in the early morning.

Does baby cry a lot... that could be a reason his voice is hoarse or maybe he has some lungs on him...

Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

One of my friends new born baby was diagnosed with rsv she is only a month old she is still in the hospital. And last night her 2 year old got bit by a dog. She was rushed to the er . She has to save surgery this morning if you can please say a prayer for this family.

I just had my son at 33 weeks 6 days. If anyone on here has had preemies before my question is how long after you brought baby home did you stay in the house? I didn't get a definite answer from my doctor or the hospital. He is now almost 3 weeks and doing well just above 6 pounds. I've heard other moms say right away is okay another said one year!!! I have errands and appointments plus my 5 year old has to be taken and picked up from school during the week.

if not then it might just be cold drs will worry if the baby develops a fever or bad cough.

I'm in the er with my husband & daughter. She's 6 months & has a fever of 104.2. I don't know what's wrong, but Def am scared!! Such a high fever for a little baby. I'm waiting for the Dr now.

n hate her shr talked so much ish bout me n my bf it drives me crazy while I was pregnant with my daughter she was talking to a friend drunk in front of me n said ”if only we didnt have to deal with thr baby mom n just get the baby” I hated her after that while my daughter was sick in the hospital she was in disney land n got mad cuz she had to come back my daughter past away from rsv a day later!!

Take him to Dr asap Please Don't mess around with a baby this young! They can get an terrible infection called RSv its dangerous can cause respiratory problems and if not treated soon enough a hospital stay! My granddaughter had this and we had no clue it was so bad she had to take breathing treatments on a machine they bought her. Please don't hesitate we were shocked when we found out she had this.

Hi, are you sure you mentioned the laboratory attendant to do a HIV test? RSV ( Respiratory synctial virus) is an antibody test that detects antibodies against RSV virus thats related to a respiratory infection. Lets wait till other experts comment on your query.

(crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?

s office unless they are open where you are. Weezing in that little of a baby can lead to serious problems and could be RSV a severe resporitory illness that usually requiers hospitilization. Weezing is airway restriction and waiting can cause harmful things to the body, loss of oxygen which means less oxygen to the brain and body and lungs!!!!! Please go ASAP this is serious and needs medical attention NOW!

uuggghhh it was like acid coming up green watery substance. my son was diagnosed with RSV yesterday and i was wondering if im not preggo then could the RSV affect me causing me to feel this way?????

you also might want to ask your cardiologist or primary doctor about if your little one should recieve the synagis vaccine. this is to help lesson the effects of RSV (this is a viral infection) most kids can fight it off, if they are healthy to begin with. i am not sure if your little one would qualify. I wouldn't see why not. this infection from what I was toldif it affects newborns who are premmeis have a heart condition, lung issues and a low immune system.

Oh he also has a little rash on his face which I know is common in babies that have a cold or other type of infection... the thing im worried about is RSV??? I think thats what its called. I read online it usually shows up between 4-6 week olds and he is 4 weeks... also im worried about the dark yellow mucus being an infection like pneunomia or something.. Gosh I hate the internet!!

Any other mommies have the scare that the baby is coming preterm? My dr think my little girl will be here between 32-37 weeks..

Sorry to hear that Mary. Was she tested for RSV? I know is pretty common for our little ones to get it at such young age especially if someone else is sick in the house. Brandon's sickness started the same way with chest congestion and it was RSV. I hope is not that and if just a common chest congestion. I hope she feels better.
