My 11 week has rsv .. He was full term .. Has any other mother had this in a infant ..

Finally a few days ago i took him in again to the ER n they found out he has a virus newborns have been getting its Called Rsv n if they would have tested it before they would have found it i was So pissed!!! So now today we got out of the childerns hospital they sent him home with oxygen but to me he still seems bad but they that he was Fine!!

Oh he also has a little rash on his face which I know is common in babies that have a cold or other type of infection... the thing im worried about is RSV??? I think thats what its called. I read online it usually shows up between 4-6 week olds and he is 4 weeks... also im worried about the dark yellow mucus being an infection like pneunomia or something.. Gosh I hate the internet!!

My son is going to be 2 months old soon and a couple of days after he was born they told me he has RSV, i have been in and out of the hospital so many times and he dose not seem to be getting any better. I have read everybody stories and How they lost their loved ones and i am so scared that it might happen to my son. Please is there anything that i can do to prevent this from getting worse???

I brought Brody to his pediatrician last week because he was very congested. After a nose swab was tested it was determined that he has RSV. Since it's a virus it can't be treated with antibiotics, so she instructed me to get a cool mist humidifier and keep his nasal pasages clear by using saline solution. The only symptom he's had is the congestion. There's no fever, coughing, mucous coming out, etc.

Saturday he was having lots of nasal congestion and coughing so I took him to the ER. He tested positive for RSV so the last few days have been scary. We are doing a cool mist humidifier with eucalyptus oil at night, albuterol breathing treatments and keeping his nose suctioned out. I hope he gets better soon but I did learn that apparently you cant trust family to let you know...

Prayers but don't stress all babies handle it diff my daughter has respiratory problems when she gets fever it never fails to hit 105 scares the crap out of me but her body handles it my neice had 103 and was a very I'll child anyway praying make sure they test for rsv and ear infections

however from what I was told by several cardiologist, premature babies and babies born with a heart defect are at risk of getting this disease and having it be more severe then normally would affect a child. there are shots that the babies get once a month called synagisis (not sure if I am spelling it right) but they get it to help LESSEN the affects of RSV.

I prego w baby 3. I never take my lil ones into public when they are lil. Newborns have no immunity to the outside world. The good thing is this time of yr it's not a high flu/RSV season. However they can still get sick. If they get sick there is nothing U can give them. Babies can get RSV which is a virus-but really just a common cold is extremely bad for babies. That's why they say to wash Ur hands before even touching the baby.

I took my 4 week old to the ER and they told me he has RSV. They just gave me a paper on it, They didn't really tell me what to do except suction out his nose. I read the paper ad it told me that in mild disease that no specific treatment is necessary. So I guess he is only a mild case, but I don't know how to tell if he is getting worse. I read on another site that family history of asthma puts him at a higher risk for becoming a severe case. I am know wen he is getting worse?

Well Lauren has rsv! My pedi also said adults can get it to!?!? Didn't know that. I guess that explains this cold type stuff I have. So she is on breathing treatments. We caught it early enough so hopefully it wont be so bad. Dh is also sick, my oldest son broke his foot last week at school and is in a nonwalking cast, and Lauren also bit my left breast last week while nursing and it's infected so im on antibiotics and she can't nurse from that side!

(crying all night) so i left out some info! in Oct. he was diagnosed with RSV and then again at the end of Nov.-first of Dec. he had it again! unfortunately RSV can take up to 8 weeks before it is released from your system hence why he had it twice in 2 months....the reason i thought it could be pneumonia is because of the way is chest moves when he breathes and because RSV can cause pneumonia to be set up in your system since your system is low especially in toddlers!

Then fever up to 104 and deydration the next took her to the ER they put her on IVs but could not find whats wrong. She has a history of RSV could this be what it is again. I dont know what o do?

One of my friends new born baby was diagnosed with rsv she is only a month old she is still in the hospital. And last night her 2 year old got bit by a dog. She was rushed to the er . She has to save surgery this morning if you can please say a prayer for this family.

you also might want to ask your cardiologist or primary doctor about if your little one should recieve the synagis vaccine. this is to help lesson the effects of RSV (this is a viral infection) most kids can fight it off, if they are healthy to begin with. i am not sure if your little one would qualify. I wouldn't see why not. this infection from what I was toldif it affects newborns who are premmeis have a heart condition, lung issues and a low immune system.

Take her to doctor, her oxygen level might be low, there is RSV a virus children get, she needs to get checked!!

Wen she was developing in my tummy two of her chromosomes got stuck together which caused her to have a copper deficiency n copper plays a good role in organs her organs weren't as strong as most babies so wen she got rsv she couldn't fight it her organs were too weak

My son was dx with Tracheomalacia when he was a baby. He had a stridor that went away by 3 years old. He did not developement upper respiratory infections (URI) until he was almost 2. He is now 10. To date he has had RSV, 6 Pneumonia's, 6 Brochitis/Bronchilitis and 15 Croups. The doctors simply told us at the time that he would out grown it. We still struggle with his health. The best advised I can give you is keep a calendar of events on him.

I would be really careful my daughter was a preemie and as soon as we got home she ended up back in the hospital with rsv because this is the time of year its out. And because she was so small she almost died and ended up in a childrens hospital for 5 weeks. It was horrible.
