Avatar f tn improvement was then maintained after cessation of the treatment. In severe cases of AV with significant scarring, a trial of isotretinoin therapy is thus worthwhile in an attempt to stop progression of the disease and improve its cosmetic appearance" http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/9692315?ordinalpos=8&itool=EntrezSystem2.PEntrez.Pubmed.Pubmed_ResultsPanel.Pubmed_DefaultReportPanel.
Avatar f tn About 25% of patients may relapse after one treatment. In those cases, a second treatment for another 4-6 months may be indicated to obtain desired results. It is often recommended that one lets a few months pass between the two treatments, because the condition can actually improve somewhat in the time after stopping the treatment and waiting a few months also gives the body a chance to recover. Occasionally a third or even a fourth course is used, but the benefits are often less substantial.
Avatar m tn Hi there I was on Roaccutane which contains Isotretinoin. Years later I too have developed sticky skin. Dermatoligists dont have an answer or help. They say it could be mental. But then there are many other people having the same symptoms. This could also be a side effect which has not been identified. Dermatologist said this could also be related to menapause? It has been years that I have sticky skin on my entire body, worsening even effecting my hair and eyes.

Avatar f tn I was also on acne treatment when I was younger. Roaccutane which contains Isotretinoin she is also on Isotretinoin, now here is a possible connection. Isotretinoin is also used to treat some cancers. There was a male on this forum who said he developed sticky skin after cancer treatment. Isotretinoin is a retinoid, related to Vitamin A. Overdose of vit A has its own side effects. I am still in extensive research mode, so maybe investigate all this and see if you can relate to anything.

Avatar m tn Hello, Fusidic acid and minocycline are both antibiotics which are used for the treatment of acne. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am starting Roaccutane for my acne, and I am supposed to have a blood test tomorrow, which is mainly focused on my liver enzymes (on the paper, the doctor checked ALT/SGPT and ALT/SGOT). I had a few drinks last thursday (around 3 shots), and I am scared my liver enzymes will be too high, although it's been 9 days since I had the drinks. It was my first time really drinking (usually it would be a sip or two from somebody). I really do not want that to show up in the blood test.
