There definately is a difference between Ritalin and Adderall. Adderall is stronger. For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall.
The cost of the medication is outrageous. Our doctor has written us new prescription for him for Adderall during the day and Ritilan for homework time if it is needed. My questions is, is there any significant side effects or dangers between the Concerta and Adderall?

Virtually all the ADD/ADHD drugs on the market are comprised of methylphenidates (ie Concerta) or amphetamines (ie adderall). Although, some other drugs are occasionally proscribed in combination with behavioral therapy. Strattera is the exception to this.
I would only caution you about Strattera because it is less studied than the other options. It's been around about 10-20 years.

I can't answer about prozac and adderall specifically but it can go two ways. With some drugs it decreases their effectiveness. With other drugs it can cause overdose. Either way, it's not a good thing. Also, alcohol is a depressant so it will make depression worse.

I have ADD, though some have said ADHD. It's been since I was a child that I tried medicines. I was on Ritalin, Dexadrine, Adderall, and I'm not sure what else. Now years later my new doctor is suggesting Concerta as the best to try.
What have you tried? How have they all worked for you? Which do you prefer and why?
I think I maybe suffering from ADHD and am thinking about asking my doctor to prescribe me adderall or Ritalin to help me with consentration. I have never had problems with school before so this is really bothering me. I used to be a straight A and a couple B's student with a GPA of around 3.8. I'm afraid that my doctor won't prescribe me something for ADHD because of my anxiety and my prescription to Xanax.
I have ADD (no hyper activity). I have been on ritalin and adderall, not at the same time. I was initially on ritalin and was switch to addrall when I began to have problems with irregular heart beat. I don't recall having paranoia or delusions on either medication. Both medications helped with my concentration.
Try Adderall XR...it's an extended-release capsule. Regular Adderall is an immediate-release tablet, which wears off after maybe 5 hours, i'd say. But Adderall XR should do the trick...
Maybe the drop in BP is related to the switch from Adderall to Ritalin. Adderall is known to increases blood pressure by a lot so stopping it will of course drop your BP.
I would continue to monitor your BP and see. If the blood pressure keeps getting lower then I would report back to your doctor but I'm pretty sure it is due to no more Adderall and new Ritalin.
ALL of the drugs you mentioned, prescription and otherwise, have been implicated in arrhythmia, irregular heart beat and problems with both high and low blood pressure. Adderall and benzodiazepines are very tricky drugs to deal with.
