ritalin metabolism

My dr has just decided to put me on ritalin, after trying many many other drugs plus ect, for my treatment resistant depression. My question is how quickly will I know if it works? Do I get immediate benefits from it or is it a gradual approach? For example, if I take a tablet at 9am, do I feel more energetic for that morning and then wears off by bedtime? I hope I'm making sence! Thank you for your help.

Is 23-24 hrs enough of a time lapse between using and the surgery. I have a high metabolism, am 31 years old, a male and grew up taking ritalin(methylphenidate) until I was about 16. I've used meth on and off since that age. Please help, I may just call my doctor and reschedule anyways. THANKS!

does wellbutrin sr cause tingling of the body stopped prozac on the 10th of june and on the 15th i staerted tingling all over,alwso was switched from adderall to ritalin thought it might be the ritalin so i stopped it for awile,but the tingling is bad driving me nuts.

My neuro put me on Ritalin for this bone crushing fatigue a week ago. I realize some medicines take a while to get into your system before they actually work and some medicines are fast acting and you get immediate results. The Ritalin has made me slightly more mentally aware, but I am still bone tired. Should I give it more time or call him and tell him it isn't working?

Ritalin still exists???? Ritalin was basically banned from pharmacies in Puerto Rico!! Ritalin is a very dangerous drug, it causes damages to the nervous system, it makes your body retain water and it makes people to have nervous tics.

For instance, if a person is on 30mg of Adderall and wants to switch to Ritalin,..you will need aprox. 50 to 60mg of Ritalin to be equivelant to the 30mg of Adderall. I am on 60mg of Adderall daily. I wanted to try Ritalin again just for the heck of it. I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall. So often in the morning he will seem unfocused so will not do well during early 8am test. His doctor and I discussed trying Ritalin first in the morning and then adding Vyvanse, which is the reverse of what many people do. I was taking wellbutrin & ritalin & didn't have probs with seizures ever. The problems with seizures they've had with them are like you said people prone to them..like who have had one before. Or by overdosing. That's why most dr try to stick with sr as appose to xr cuz you're not taking as much at a time. wellbutrin can act as a stimulant-like drug though too so that it combo with the ritalin made me a little more anxious...

I saw my psychiatrist today and he told me Ritalin must be taken cautiously with patients with tics because it aggravates tics. I am 27 years old and have been taking Ritalin since I was about 13.
