ritalin

2083581 tn?1332307861 I currently use Ritalin for ADD and it also helps depression. Does anyone have suggestions for supplementing this with another drug. I have heard wellbutrin works well with Ritalin but I would like to here from someone with experience. Ritalin is the only drug that has ever helped me but when it wears off I am depressed again. (and I have tried Concerta and did like it) Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn If an elderly person is on SSRI for depression and it isn't helping and she is becoming more angry, agitated, since the med.
Avatar f tn Has anyone ever been prescribed Ritalin for Migraines? What is the thought about this? I am looking for alternative approaches for my chronic migraines, usually 2 migraines per week, 1 of which is completely debilitating. I tried a 5mg dose of Ritalin (1x day) for a week and it was a migraine free week (despite high stress and sleep deprivation due to work).

Avatar f tn I told my doctor and she put me on Ritalin and it has helped me considerably but the only drawback is that I have anxiety issues and Ritalin can flare it up for me which means I have to stop taking it for a day or so or cut back until my depression worsens. For right now Ritalin seems to be the only drug that has helped with my depression and I am no longer taking any antidepressants now. I just take Clonazepam for my anxiety. Hope this helps you.
1831920 tn?1320857757 I have been taking 10mg of ritalin 3 times a day on an empty stomach for 5 months. I have noticed that I am extremely depressed in the mornings and mid mornings. I suffer from major depression and am taking Celexa 40mg. Why isnt' the Celexa working? Is it because of the Ritalin? Please help. I don't think I can live like this anymore.................
794366 tn?1418009395 I have treatment-resistant depression and am only on Extended Release Ritalin 20 mg in the morning and 10 mg Ritalin at noon. It was working fine for several months but recently my depression has come back with a vengeance and I am not doing well. I am struggling daily and every aspect of my life has been affected even my sleep and eating habits.
Avatar n tn Sometimes, Ritalin is prescribed for depression or extreme tiredness, but not by your surgeon, and absolutely not without first discussing this with you. No, it is absolutely weirs and I would assume it is a mistake unless you are not telling us something we don't know about.
Avatar n tn At last, my current question, I was hospitalized again a couple of weeks ago for depression. I had been on Cymbalta and Wellbutrin, with clonazapam for anxiety and sleep, and my depression to me seemed th worst it has ever been. The new doc at the new hospital, with my regular psychiatrist's approval decreased my wellbutrin, and added ritalin at first a tiny dose and then a little more. I don't believe I have ever felt better in my life.
Avatar f tn said i could still have my couple beers with my meds....how long does ritalin take to work im on 10 mg but could take another 10 in the afternoon i was on 30 mg adderall i heard ritalin is stronger..im scared i will be allegic to ritalin as im afraid i will allergic to all new meds..and it is deiffernt than adderall pharmist said she has rarely heard of anyone being alletgic to these kinds of drugs but i thought i was having hard time breathing yesterday..
Avatar m tn like lack of focus, direction in life, motivation pushing myself. so,my therapist suggested i go on Ritalin to help with these concentration/focus issues. i've always had big problems concentrating on anything. like reading especially. at the moment i am weening myself off Lamictal and Wellbutrin slowly. after i will begin Ritalin. what do you all think?
Avatar f tn My doc gave me Ritalin for ADD and Effexor for depression but this last one gave me too many side effects and I stopped taking it. Now he switched me to Wellbutrin (150 mg once a day) and 30 mg Ritalin. I have felt sick but am not sure if it is the withdrawal effects from stopping Effexor or the mixture of Wellbutrin and Ritalin. I feel brain spasms, especially in the back of my head. Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms.
Avatar f tn Hi, I've been using yhis app for 2nd week now, 41 and had lost 25kgs. On my final mission to lose 10kgs to get to goal weight.
Avatar f tn Could have sworn I lost all motivation for life on Adderall and became even more hyper on Ritalin. Did I mention I'm dyslexic? But no Sandman is right.
Avatar f tn My dr has just decided to put me on ritalin, after trying many many other drugs plus ect, for my treatment resistant depression. My question is how quickly will I know if it works? Do I get immediate benefits from it or is it a gradual approach? For example, if I take a tablet at 9am, do I feel more energetic for that morning and then wears off by bedtime? I hope I'm making sence! Thank you for your help.
889551 tn?1416184483 Hi! I was diagnosed with ADD recently and I'm waiting to get back in to see my psychiatrist. My last office visit we spoke about the possible medications I could choose from if I completed ADD testing with another Psych. He mentioned Strattera (but he said he didn't feel that it worked), Adderall, and Ritalin. I'm currently on abilify and wellbutrin for depression and these meds, along with adderall and ritalin lower the seizure threshold.
Avatar m tn my bipolar/depression symptoms are gone mostly. could i take Ritalin (along with these 2 drugs) or a natural drug to help with my concentration?
351317 tn?1204751871 I have ADD and moderate/major depression and was wondering if there are others out there with these problems and if so what medications are you taking that help. Ritalin makes me nuts but adderall worked for me better with a little less side effects. Still stimulants makes my already high anxiety worse but still I do think I need them. Is there some kind of balance with other meds that would allow me to take stimulants without feeling so anxious?
Avatar f tn t think this is normal, even if I am on Ritalin. is it possible that this is linked to anxiety or depression (which are chronic issues)?
Avatar f tn t worked either, but i was exercising everyday, eating well, meditate and yoga and actually was feeling a bit better but not entirely so he added me another dosage of prozac and reduce the clonazepam, 5 days passed and i was feeling super bad, had the worst anxiety and depression i had in my life. i talked to him and he said ok so back to one dosage of prozac and more clonazepam and well it did help but i was not feeling a bit better like i was.
Avatar n tn I've been abusing my ritalin for a couple of months now, usually by snorting. I really want to stop because it seems that I cant do any activity without a little bump of it, when I run out, im severly depressed, agitated and usually panic ridden. I take medications for anxiety and depression. I know I need to take them as prescribed but it seems i have no will power. Any suggestions for tapering off this stuff orally?
Avatar f tn t personally do anything (my psychiatrist, for example, has most of her practice treating the elderly, which is unfortunate for me because it means she's no longer available for appointments very often but it does help the elderly). One thing to consider -- does she eat very much?
Avatar m tn The first 3 to 4 days are rough. But it is diffrent for everyone. I my self kept busy in the day time, nights were the worst for me. But you can do it. Make tomorrow the day you start to get your life back! Everyone on here are great. Post anytime 24/7. Good luck!
Avatar n tn my dr just put me on sonata for sleep and i am being treated for add w/ritalin,lamictal for bpd, wellbrutrin depression, and nerourotin for nerve pain and a few days ago i started grinding my teeth together, looks like i am chewing gum all the time and i also am making grunting sounds.
Avatar f tn This is my opinion on this -- marijuana is fun when it's fun but it can bring out of us things that might have stayed inside -- or might have come out anyway later. Because marijuana focuses the mind so much on one thing it makes you dwell on positive things when it's fun and on negative things when it's not.
