Concerta is quite well known to cause weight loss, common complaints of appetite being suppressed, not being hungry, feeling full etc occur in all ages and gender. Significant weight loss is probably one of the more common reasons for a change in medication, so i would definitely recommend discussing your weight loss concerns with your prescribing dr.
I'm still confused about how long is too long to be on this medication and will the weight loss adventually stop or at least slow down?

Hi there. I just wanted to tell u there is life after ritalin. I used to have similar issues and thoughts while I was prescribed adderal. I always wondered "well how am I going to get all my work done w out these drugs " buzzing all around like a crazy woman that I had become.
I promise you , u will get your natural energy back. Everyone's different on how long it takes. I would suggest taking this one day at a time. You can do this.

Any ideas on what causes hair loss all over your body? I started Ritalin in January for fatigue, is it the culprit? I've looked online and can find nothing about it causing hair loss on your body, it just says in rare instances scalp hair loss. And I'm taking a small amount of it. It has helped me so much with fatigue I was able to get a job, so I don't really want to go off of it, but if it's the cause I sure don't want to be bald, either.

Hi, I have been taking Ritalin (20 mg) not for ADD but for another health issue since January of 2015. From then on until around May of this year it was doing wonders for me. I was at the top of my class without really trying, I felt happy and confident, and I lost a significant amount of weight (Before I was slightly overweight as I had been my whole childhood, and after I was at a normal weight and was actually needing to eat more than usual just to maintain it).
The drug I’m referring to is specifically Ritalin not Ritalin SR (sustained release). Ritalin is made in 5, 10 or 20 mg tablets. This question involve the dosage Ritalin is prescribed. I’ve read that the average dosage for adults is 30 mg/day. I’m a 25 year old male. I weigh 220 lbs. and am 5’11”. The only other medication I’m on is 100 mg of Zoloft/day for the treatment of depression. I have no prior medical issues.

My six year old son started taking a pretty low dose of Ritalin - he's doing great, except he seems to become "whiney" for lack of a better term.. he is much more emotional and prone to tears. Does this sound normal? He's been on the medication for about 5 weeks.
My daughter just started taking 10mg of adderall xr and it doesn't seem to be working as well as the generic ritalin was. Does it take awhile for it to have it's full effect? This is only her third day on the medication. Any thoughts?
I have shown proof from reliable sources, to my Doc that he needs to give me MORE than 60mg Ritalin for it to be effective as 60mg Adderrall. He still will NOT increase the Ritalin dosage. I took the script anyway, and after filling it realized I am screwed for the month. I hardly can tell that I am taking an ADD medication when I take this weak Ritalin. I had the same syptoms as your daughter, along with rapid heart rate, weight loss, and loss of interest in things that I enjoyed prior to starting Adderall. It made my son a zombie, his personality was different, he didn't laugh anymore. It is a highly addictive drug and the only reason this ADHD medication explosion has happened is because schools are pushing parents to drug their children so that the teacher doesn't have to deal with them.
He was diagnosed with ADHD when he was 5 although we knew it by the time he was 3. He takes Ritalin... 25 mg in the am... 20 mg @ noon and 10 mg after school. The Ritalin has worked VERY WELL at controlling impulsivity and bad behavior. So much so, that his teacher this year asked me why he was on Ritalin. However, it has made him very slow at completing assignments and many other things. He is very bright and makes very good grades.
I saw my psychiatrist today and he told me Ritalin must be taken cautiously with patients with tics because it aggravates tics. I am 27 years old and have been taking Ritalin since I was about 13. I used to have a blinking eye tic but Ritalin didnt seem to aggravate it. However I got a funny spasm in my left eye and the doc said its fine. The one question I forgot to ask him was if Ritalin could cause my eye tic to spiral out of control in the future.
Today I did not take the Ritalin and felt no spasms. On the other hand, my doc told me to take the Ritalin constantly. I tried to take it only when I needed to concentrate at work and not on days I don´t have to work. He told me it is not good to interrupt intake like that.
I am very interested in knowing your experience with Adderal and Wellbutrin. Did your doctor check your clinical history to be sure that there is no high risk of seizures?
