Avatar f tn YOU CAN SEE HER BODY KIND OF LIKE HEAVING OR CONVULSING. I TOOK HER TO MY VET AND THEY SAID SHE WAS REVERSE SNEEZING. HAVE YOU HEARD OF THIS. HE ALSO SAID TO GIVE HER A HALF OF A BENEDRYL. WHAT DO YOU THINK SHE GOES TO THE VET REGULARY AND IS UPDATED ON ALL SHOTS AND TREATMENTS SHE SOMETIMES HAS ALLERGIES. LAST NIGHT THIS EPISODE LASTED ABOUT 1 MINUTE IT WAS VERY SCARY.
Avatar f tn She was tired, as expected, when we got home for a day or so, but then started to develop this nasty reverse sneezing. We treated her for Kennel Cough, which went away, but then the sneezing came back and we knew it wasn't the case. At the time we were taking her to a different vet than where we are now, who really had no idea what was going on.
Avatar f tn Gia is an Italian greyhound, age unknown, although she was rescued in 2009 and was full grown then. Several times a month for years her stomach starts crackling, popping, fizzling and making all kinds of weird noises and she will not eat when this is happening. In the last year she is sneezing and reverse sneezing and my vet can't seem to figure out what is wrong. His last solution was a steroid shot which seemed to reduce the number of sneezing incidents but not the reverse sneezing.
Avatar f tn Is it a proper sneeze (air blowing outward) or what's commonly referred to as "reverse sneezing"? Reverse sneezing can be frightening to see if it keeps on for a few minutes, but it's harmless - basically a kind of a hiccup. Our Dal gets reverse sneezing fits sometimes and we can usually stop it by rubbing his throat and getting him to move around a bit. That technique might help when your dog gets the sneezes from excitement.
Avatar n tn This sounds very like what is called "Reverse Sneezing" . It is a bit of a mystery, as no-one knows exactly why this can occasionally happen. It has happened to my dog about 4 or 5 times since she has been with me (7-8 years) and she is very fit and well. So it appears whatever causes this symptom doesn't threaten the dog's health.
Avatar f tn I can highly recommend watching the video (on YouTube) called "Sugar - the bitter truth" by Dr Lustig. Wow..amazing! The video went viral and that is something for a 1 1/2 hour presentation. In the presentation Dr Lustig shows how sugar (fructose) and also alcohol cause a fatty liver in biochemical detail. Dr Sandra Cabot has an article in steps to take to reverse a fatty liver (takes between 6 months and 2 years to fully reverse a fatty liver).
Avatar f tn Now the last few months she has suddenly developed reverse sneezing. The reverse sneezing seems to be getting worse as well. She RS if she gets excited, runs around, plays, or even just doing nothing. We have her on Hydroxyzine two times a day (I think 10mg.), but it doesn't seem to be doing too much. We have tried her on Benadryl (dose recommended by vet), but that did nothing. I have suspected candida, from all the meds she has taken in her young life.
Avatar n tn Well, your daughter should be able to recognize that. You might try running a humidifier by where she sleeps.
Avatar f tn My dog is making a weird weezy breathing sound... (NOT reverse sneezing, I'm aware of this.) He's not being active and you can see his chest move while he breaths. Breathing out of his nose. His nose is dry, he threw up some slimy mucus too. What could this be???
Avatar f tn I am 14 weeks and am sneezing tons every day, along with waking up stuffy and all day sniffles. I know this can be common, but does anyone have some tips on how to reduce the congestion?

1622527 tn?1301644622 The only real advice I can give you is to take him to the vet for a thorough examination (Heart/Lungs, and bloodwork) That is the soundest advice I can think of, and if you could manage to find the cash to do that, one way or another....it would be a wise move. However, it is just possible this could be what is called "Reverse Sneezing". Google "Reverse Sneezing You Tube" and you will come up with videos of dogs with this.
Avatar f tn A recent study showed that weight loss of at least 9% over a period of months can help reverse NASH. Even less weight loss than this can help lessen buildup of fat in the liver. Eat a balanced and healthy diet and increase your physical activity. In addition to limiting calories, avoid diets rich in refined, rapidly digested carbohydrates. This includes limiting foods such as white bread, white rice, and concentrated sugar.
Avatar m tn I. I'm 68 an have been on vikes for quite some time.3-4 yrs. I'm on not just for the heck of it but just had some back surgery that did not totally work right. Also have a totally blown shoulder. Have had a Rgt. knee replacement and do need a left one too. To top it off I have a left ankle that needs surgery. At my age ? BUMMER!! But I am blessed with a great wife and a great faith. Story here is I ran out of vikes so I am trying to withdraw.
871111 tn?1248992972 I certainly see alot of pugs with allergies (to food or pollen/dust), usually with symptoms such as scratching, foot licking, recurrent skin rashes and recurrent ear infections, and less commonly sneezing and reverse sneezing. It is certainly possible that your pug has an allergic cause for the ear infection and the brown stains on the jaw.

Avatar n tn I think we sometimes overthink our situation. I often time see live sporting events or news and can see people coughing. As ridiculous as it sounds, I began to think it was also do to my PATM until I started seeing groups like this.
1017452 tn?1254904998 Oh... and I forgot!!! he calls it his "video head" and the stop button's broken! I can't even imagine how frustrating that must be. and... The sneezes! What is up with that?! I kind of get the watery eyes, and nose etc but sneezing?
Avatar f tn Yes it is called reverse sneezing and is totally harmless,=)
Avatar m tn Welcome---Be ready & the next time it happens, try to video it to show your Vet......There are too many things this could be that I hesitate to speculate on it...... My first thought is simple "Reverse Sneeze", but yours are lasting way too long! Then I thought about Kennel Cough, which is a possibility.... I personally wouldn't wait; just in case it's something serious that needs to be treated......Good luck & let us know what you find out......
Avatar f tn She needs to see her Vet....Hopefully, this is just reverse sneezing, but with the frequency, it could also be a respiratory infection.....If that be the case, she could get pneumonia which is much harder to treat.....She needs a visit to her Vet just in case...Let us know what you find out......
