Is it the tonsils or adenoids? It could also be quinsy, which is peritonsillar abscess that is there is pus collection around the tonsils. This is an emergency and needs to be treated with IV antibiotics. Sometimes it warrants incision and drainage of the abscess. It is also an indication for tonsillectomy. Things worsened and I went to a urgent care. I tested negative for Strep and Mono. I ended up having a peritonsillar abscess. This had to be drained and my fever immediately dropped after. The ENT tested the puss and it came back negative. Negative for what? I have no idea, I never asked.
Since then I have been mainly had intermittent leg soreness and fatigue, but it is real random when it happens.
What I am more concerned about is my oral sores.

Good morning forum.6 days ago I went to a urgent care for a bump i had in my pubic hair area, I'm a male. The doctor told me its skin abscess. He drained it and puss started coming out. He took a wound culture for testing using a swab.And prescribed me doxycycline antibiotic. 5 days have passed and I still haven't taken the antibiotics because I want to know about my wound swab culture.

I feel way much better. No pain, no fevers, etc. The abscess is really small, like dots. I asked if it was contagious when I was there and the person I asked told me "as long as you're getting better, it shouldn't be contagious". I was also wondering can I kiss anybody now that I've been on antibiotics for 10 days? I would like to hear from other people. Thank you in advance.

While I was on interferon therapy and my resistance was low, I developed an abscess on my buttock that was drained and healed. Hi i started with really bad tooth pain and went to the emergency dentist who said its infected and got an abscess. They give me amoxicillin 500mg i started them yesterday teatime then last night my face started to swell up on the right side where the bad tooth is never had this before. Dear Guys, I developed abscess three times with in two weeks interval in my groin area.....the last two were big and required surgery with full ansthesia. My doc therefore suggested to escape the shot at least for one week so i did not take the shot last week. I continued to take it again but I developed another abscess on the preannal position. I am afraid it will force me to discontinue the therapy. Has any one exprienced such problem during therapy?
