Avatar m tn Dear Doctor, I am returning to exercise after a 5-month break due to suspected viral myocarditis. My heart rate, one hour after exercise termination, is around 12 to 15 beats above resting rate. Is this ok? Thanks.
Avatar f tn I was wondering what is the benefit of the change in a resting heart rate to an increased heart rate due to exercise. If my resting heart rate was 54 and my heart rate after exercise was 104 , what are the benefits?
Avatar m tn Eating very unhealthy foods and drinking to much alcohol. My question is when I get home form working out. My resting heart rate is 92 bpm. Should I be concerned ? Will this improve ?
641559 tn?1250443489 I have no problem getting my heart rate up when exercising. I recently had a stress test with the dye for my heart and it was normal although my bp went up to 226/176 as I was a nervous wreck about my heart as my mom passed away at 59 of a massive heart attack. My test was completely normal. Should I be concerned about my heart rate or just be happy that it's low? Thanks for any input!
Avatar m tn Hi guys, my resting heart rate is 115 and fluctuates though out the day anywhere from 80-120. I have had ECG done and and an ultra sound ECG . I've had other test for my thyroid and 100"s of other things. My question to you guys is I haven't exercised in a long time and I know I'm deconditioned, if I start to work on my card will my heart rate start to come down? Right now I'm veryntired all the time and a little dizzy.
Avatar f tn One thing though is that you may just have a lower heart rate. I say that because you said that when you were hyper your heart rate was only 84- actually quite low for someone who is hyper. Many experience resting heart rates in the mid to uppers 100's or even higher so 84 is very low compared to that. My resting heart rate when I am healthy ranges between 53-60 but I am a runner when I'm able to be and not sick.
Avatar m tn I could write pages about this, but I'll just answer the question simple. The answer is YES! it's possible and very likely. You can forget the "normal values" of 60-100 beats pr minute. They are just the definition on what is sinus rhythm, or if below; sinus bradycardia, and above, sinus tachycardia. When you exercise, it's "normal" to have a heart rate above 100, and if you rest or sleep, it's normal to have a heart rate below 60.
Avatar n tn One night when I was about to sleep, I checked my heart rate and it was 62. I heard normal heart rate should be between 60 - 100. Mine seems to be slipping down. This gave me a small panic attack and my anxiety is back. I heard that slow heart rates can cause sudden death. I am afraid for my health. I cannot stop on Carbimazole and the little Propranolol that I take. Should I approach a specialist or do you thing that this condition is benign?

Avatar n tn t be too concerned, 102 is not that high even for a resting heart rate.
Avatar m tn ive bought a heart monitor with chest strap because im starting jogging it says ive got a resting heart rate of around 55 bpm the lowest ive seen it go is 45 is this ok i used to cycle quite a lot is this ok
Avatar f tn I am 31 years old weight 140 and have a resting heart rate of 107 all the time. Is this normal. My aunt and grandma died at a very young age.
Avatar m tn If I'm correct you target heart rate would be 136 BPM. I'm not saying to go out and hit that right away, work up to it and make sure you Dr knows that you are working out a bit. http://www.heart.org/HEARTORG/GettingHealthy/PhysicalActivity/FitnessBasics/Target-Heart-Rates_UCM_434341_Article.
Avatar m tn My resting heart rate is 76 and my age is 68. When I exercise it climbs to 178 at times. Do I need to see a cardiologist? I am hardly even out of breath at this heart rate.
Avatar m tn I am a male age 80, height 6 feet, weight 205 pounds, My resting heart rate is 46/50. My medications are doxazosin, finasteride, and meloxicam. Is my heart rate OK?
1295419 tn?1276822872 My resting heart rate is usually about 80-85, even less if I am laying down. I suffer from severe GAD. I have more anxiety in the mornings and this morning I am especially anxious. My heart rate has been 92-100 today. I don't think I need to get on medication to lower it as it usually is only in the 80's, but I was curious what anyone does to help relax themselves to lower their heart rate. I took .5 mg of ativan but it does not seem to be helping. Any suggestions?
Avatar f tn My heart rate can go from 40 to 160 just by standing up and walking to the bathroom some times its normal and other times its pressure in the chest headaches and dizzy a little bit is this deadly?
Avatar f tn I am a young active woman, but my average resting heart rate is 33 bpm. Is this too low?
159619 tn?1707018272 A question for the gurus here in the Heart Rhythm Forum. I've been between jobs taking a little time off so I've stepped up my exercise in the past 6 weeks or so. I went from my normal routine that maxed out around 6 - 7 mets to getting a max met rate between 8 - 10 mets which is still comfortable for me. This takes me from 80% of my MHR to about 90%. Since I started, I have watched my resting heart rate go from low 70's to where I am now in the low 60's.
Avatar n tn I don't know if it's normal or too high but my resting heart rate has been about 95 for the past few weeks.
Avatar m tn If your heart rate is higher than 100 bpm sustained, it can be a serious medical condition. When I was in heart failure mode, my heart rate was about 115 bpm. With heart failure, the system is not getting sufficient oxygenated blood normally with a heart rate below 100 so the heart pumps faster to make up for the lower than normal heart stroke. There are several reasons for a heart not to rest.
Avatar m tn Hi, I feel it is a little high for your age as the resting heart rate is normally between 50-80 beats/min. Target heart rate for your age during vigorous activities like running and jogging is 98-166 beats/min. I would suggest you to lose a little weight and also bring this up during your next annual health exam. http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?
