Avatar f tn This year she developed tardive dyskinesia of the jaw/mouth and also respiratory dyskinesia. Her neurologist wants her to get off the Geodon and onto Clozaril. Her psychiatrist has been slowly weaning her off the Geodon and slowly increasing the Clozaril. She also takes Klonopin for the jaw movements. He also added Cymbalta for depression. When she was on the Geodon, she functioned well, worked, was pretty stable and didn’t need an antidepressant.
Avatar m tn Now it remains only in the lungs and will surely be completely cleared with one more course of homeopathic medicine, 2 at the most. Although many of my symptoms are still very severe, especially the allergies and the excessive mucous and breathing problems, I am much improved and have every reason to believe that I will soon make a full recovery to good health once my lungs are are finally free from infection.
Avatar n tn I have been sick with colds, coughs, bronchitis, and other upper respiratory symptoms for at least 8 of the past 12 months. My primary care doctor and my allergist say that this is because, 20 months ago, my husband and I adopted two children, ages 5 and 7. They say that my immune system should stabilize two years from the time of the adoption, or four months from now. Meanwhile, this is really messing up my life, and affecting my ability to work and parent.
Avatar m tn I must mention that this also depends a lot of the level and severity of the actual depression and axiety. I do believe situational mild to moderate depression to be cureable, but not the type of biological depression that many of us suffer from. Many may differ on this opinion of mine, but I have 17 years of direct experience with this condition in it's worst manifestation and I can say for fact that it will always be a limiting factor in my life.
Avatar n tn These studies have demonstrated that consuming Tyrosine enhances the production of neurotransmitters and may, in fact, alleviate certain symptoms of depression and improve alertness and focus. Also, studies performed by the military have shown that consuming a L-Tyrosine supplement may enhance cognitive performance. What doses of Tyrosine should be taken? There are no definitive studies showing what doses of L-Tyrosine are most effective.
Avatar m tn Sx I went through major stress last year (family illness and death), mid-life crisis, rough holidays etc. Very little exercise, gained weight, depression, anxiety I've had a cold, then flu, then chest cold since Christmas. (feels like I've been sick all year so far) Some symptoms: Low energy, feels like heart skips beats or palpitations (sporadic), worse when cold or negative thinking.
Avatar f tn I'm like, 'I don't know why not, I still have HCV, liver damage and did not get remission and still have other issues with post treatment and depression'. I actually don't think that anybody's sneaking around from Soc. Sec. checking on my disability. I have the SSDI, not the SSI, there's a difference in the two, but it took me 3 times of being turned down and then, a lawyer to get it.
1692704 tn?1307215380 I didn't feel a whole lot different during that time, but I felt that my symptoms were stirred up a bit. That was a change, because before treatment I felt equally horrible every day. Once I was on abx, I started to feel some oscillations in symptom severity. Next, I started a third abx, Bactrim. That's when I started experiencing more severe Herx reactions, to the point where I was unable to continue treatment and my LLMD had me stop.
Avatar n tn I won't comment on what it is like to be in the end stages of liver disease - too many folks here can supply first-hand knowledge and there is nothing I can add to that. They will post info for you. Natural treatment? Almost 100 percent of the "natural" treatments are quak medicine. Some treatments seem to help reduce liver inflammation which is generally held as a good thing.
748543 tn?1463449675 I, as most responsible medical professionals, believe in using the most conservative successful form of treatment. As one who treats patients with most severe TMD symptoms, I can assure you that my patients are unable to manage the pain associated with these conditions by simply receiving counseling on their habits. What's more is that I find that dental malocclusion is frequently one of the principle causes of the TMD.
919881 tn?1243660771 I am 46, weigh 215lbs, @ 5ft 3inches fat as you can see. I started treatment for my Hep C Genotype 1A with a plan of going 48 weeks 1200 Riba/day and Interferon 1x/wk. Viral load started at approx. 700,000 oh by the way my cirohsis (I can never spell that) is stage 4 of 4 - that ***** right? OK - onward...At 4 wks my viral load went down to 3,600 and I am now at week 12 and it is still detectable at 99.
200828 tn?1209921575 There have not been any clinical studies to support magnesium being helpful in depression or anxiety symptoms. St. John's wort has been studied, however, and found to be helpful with symptoms of *mild* depression only. If you are taking any other prescription medications, you need to check with your doctor to see if St. John's wort is appropriate for you to use. Keep in mind that it probably won't help you if you are severely depressed.
Avatar f tn It seems as though not too many of us get these post treatment joint ache symptoms persisting. I was undetectable at 6 mo post btw (Geno 3a, VL low to moderate at start, ALT over 350, now down to about 50). I am just waiting for my 12 month PCR results: all the relapses have made me uncharacteristically anxious. My heart goes out to all those who did relapse: I am trying to be philosophical about the prospect.
Avatar m tn John Myers, the cocktail is known to help alleviate acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, anxiety, depression, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, angina, hypertension and other cardiovascular disease disorders.
475586 tn?1225027354 There is usually irritation where mercury first interacts with tissues. The upper respiratory tract easily becomes chronically inflamed and symptoms in mouth appear. The gums bleed when you brush your teeth, red and white irritations (lichen, leukoplakia) arise, blisters and sensitivity to certain nutritives develop, your teeth ache, the whole jaw can become more or less inflamed, and some persons develop sinusitis.
Avatar n tn I do not have any symptoms 16 monthes after treatment. I have to tell you also that I did not have symptoms before treatment.
125112 tn?1217277462 I won't go on about the rest during that time. It in itself is a long read. Today, along with the respiratory and oral symptoms, I have very irregular periods. Likened to perimenopause. Apparently, easily confused with thyroid conditions.
Avatar n tn I'm a 43 year old male suffering from different digestive symptoms since 2000. They inlcude acid reflux at night and after meals. When symptoms really escaladed I would get severe bloating in the middle abdomen inlcuding change in bowel habits with loose stools mixed with constipation. My primary care physician did a sigmoidoscopy, some standard blood work, Fecal Occult, and a lower Barium X-ray which revealed nothing! On physical exam there wasn't any pain, tenderness or masses.
Avatar n tn His behavior faciliates between bouts of crying, feeling abandonded, hopeless, depressed and periods of apparent well-being where he is calm, psychologically present, reasonable. He attributes his despair to clinical depression which he has. I am sure the drugs are contributing. I am not sure if the periods of calm are immediatley following injection and the despair is withdrawal or coming down. When I confront him, I want to know what I am talking about.
Avatar n tn 5pg/kg for 25 weeks who died by self-inflicted gunshot wound. Of note is the lack of history of depression. No symptoms or signs of depression were noted by the patient's physicians. Suicide, murder, paranoid reaction in the post-treatment period: Patient 598 was a 41 year-old man on IFN for 1 year and a history of depression, antisocial behavior, and drug abuse. Sudden death associated with straining at stool: Patient 406 was a 59 year-old man on IFN for 21 weeks.
Avatar n tn My symptoms started five years ago, tingling in lower legs and occassionally arms/hands and feeling tired. Initial neurological tests were normal. I now have constant tingling and painful burning in my lower legs and feet, tightness in my lower legs and my feet are tender and sore to stand on. The outside toes on my right foot spread out, particularly my small toe. My muscles tire so easily and my fingers, which are steady when held still, tremble when moving them.
1216899 tn?1288573925 However, I've heard that vitamin D can definitely have a positive impact on mood disorders such as anxiety and depression. Hey, if after only 3 weeks your symptoms are reduced 10-15% it sounds as if you might get a lot better as your D levels rise.
725059 tn?1238481193 my friend just had to stop treatment after four weeks due to nodes growing on her lungs - has anyone had this happen or heard of this happening? (they weren't there before treatment) nodules is the term the doctors used. she sees a hepatologist in paris and her treatment was not a trial. this was her first attempt at treatment. any insights?
Avatar f tn Many of us are on antidepressants (some of us were already on them and some of us started ADs before starting treatment.) The Hep C drugs can cause depression. Antidepressants take a few weeks to get to full effect so if you are already depressed, then it would be wise to start soon. If you are talking about anti anxiety meds, that would also be an issue to discuss with your doc. and/or psychiatrist.

Avatar n tn In fact, he said it was possible that I had PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder), which commonly produces cold/flu like symptoms before and/or during menstruation. The only real treatment for PMDD or hormone imbalances is hormone control, usually in the form of birth control (like tia33 mentioned in her post). If you are experiencing cold/flu like symptoms before/during your period get to your Gynaecologist! They specialize in stuff like this!
583625 tn?1221086929 He said he had all the same symptoms during treatment and obviously, during treatment he wasn't decompensated. Otherwise, he wouldn't have been on treatment since decompensation is a contraindication for treatment. "You need 3 BM's a day and low protein diet whenever you have liver disease." That is NOT TRUE! Protein is ONLY restricted on people who are decompensated. Let me show you something......
Avatar f tn I did not miss any work but could not tell anyone at work about my treatment. I still suffer depression (ie; suicide thoughts)at times and fight emotional negativity (life circumstances) so I do not know if the negativity can be blamed on the long term drug side effects?. I am usually a very positive person so being negative does not sit well with me. My energy is coming back because I walk two miles a day to deal with the stress. Also, I pray, alot!
