Resmed cpap battery pack

Common Questions and Answers about Resmed cpap battery pack

cpap

Avatar f tn ve found that using a fully data capable CPAP, one that allows ME to access my therapy data each morning encourages me to continue w/CPAP therapy even when I am having difficulties as the data helps to point out what the difficulties are - most often just too high a leak rate. I've used and been happiest w/the Resmed S8 Elite, then the Resmed S8 AutoSet Vantage and then the Resmed S8 VPAP Auto when I needed to be switched to a bi-level PAP due to my COPD.
Avatar m tn yeah needing to do something different. but the cpap mask is full mask. and think i remember its on auto. one of the new resmed models .
Avatar m tn I wear TAP 3 appliance. Did a sleep study with Resmed Appnealink Plus. 4 Apnea, 12 Hypoapnea/M , AHI 19, Average O2 saturation 93%, lowest 83% once, pulse h 101, low 50, avg 74 then I wore Auto CPAP s9 along with TAP3 and AHI was 0, All Apnea are gone, O2 average was 95% but lowest desaturation episode was 76%, once, pulse H 104,lowest 47 and average 72 Why does this lowest desaturation event up to 83% occur even with CPAP ? Is this a clinically significant to seek an opinion ?
Avatar m tn hi! I'm boiling my resmed mask in water for 30sec and I think it really helps to clean it out, vinegar may also work I've been taking d mannose hoping it will stop any brain damage I've gotten from sleep apnea if anyone wants to talk about sleep apnea and treatments that would be great!
Avatar f tn My husband uses a CPAP machine and for 5 years was very compliant. He began having trouble with the mask cutting into the bridge of nose. He has tried different masks, nasal pillows; I think everything that is available. He cannot get a good seal with any of them except the one taht cuts into his nose. Bandaids have not worked. Does anyone have a suggestion to protect his skin without compromising the seal. We would greatly appreciate any input.
Avatar f tn Thanks for your reply and an update on the Resmed SV, which is far better compare to a CPAP machine as it has many more advantages like delivering different sets of air pressure - increased when the patient inhales and decreased when exhales breath, making it easier for sleep apnea patients who have difficulty breathing spontaneously at their own rate and depth. Also can be useful in those with neuromuscular disorder as there is no requirement for an active process.
Avatar m tn The MSLT was abnormal showing hypersomnolence but no REM sleep so no narcolepsy diagnosis. Setting ranged from 9 to 11 cm H20 on his CPAP - a ResMed EPR Elite II. 3 years of trying every mask and chin strap and with another PES sleep study to verify pressure, we finally gave up on CPAP and he moved to a TAP appliance. My son has very sensitive skin and tried his best to adjust. The TAP appliance has been a better fit for him.
149675 tn?1416673133 I was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea and put on a CPAP machine. I have been using it for about 5 days now. I am sleeping OK with it and even think I feel a little clearer in mornings and during the day. My problem is with the mask. After the first day I had painful whiteheads under my nose. I treated them with cream (after they popped) and that is doing a little better. Now the bridge of my nose is very red, a little puffy, and I have 7 small whiteheads there too.
1580703 tn?1651904887 I've had terrible sleep apnea for 4 years, it was so bad I couldn't read/remember sentences and had severe exhaustion and prediabetes, constant colds. I found that 0.5-1mg klonopin seems to help my central apnea, PLMD/seizures. I feel much clearer and have more energy but I heard that it's a narcotic and can cause memory damage long term/withdrawal problems? anyway I'm really unhappy that I just got this mysterious disease and asthma.
Avatar n tn I don’t think you need a BiPAP because these are used for people who have high pressure settings. A lot of cpap machines like Resmed and Respironics ones have expiratory relief as well.
1767141 tn?1313678474 I have positional sleep apnea but do not tolerate CPAP or Auto-pap well due to extremely dry mouth which is worse now after surgery to correct long-term acid reflux which burned my mouth and throat. I awaken very early even wearing CPAP or Auto-pap. I am only a little over 2 weeks out of the surgery I had and the GERD/reflux was very bad and made my apnea worse.
1218873 tn?1300091216 I have a CPAP machine on a months trial, this is one that varies the pressure as required it records the information on to an SD card so when I return to the clinic I will then be given a machine that has the correct fixed pressure. I have a full face mask as I could not get on with the nose only one. Now my problem is I wake in the middle of the night with a very dry mouth (i mean completely dry) my mouth has ballooned with air and the mask is vibrating against my face.
Avatar n tn After 4 sleep studies and 3 machines (now using the Resmed ASV), I still have severe daytime fatigue and a very high AHI. Is there a center that specializes in this problem?
559187 tn?1330782856 Yo, Julie. Another "hose-nose" here - I've been using my CPAP (mine is much like a BiPAP with exhalation relief) since being diagnosed with OSA (obstructive sleep apnea) three years ago and I wouldn't consider sleeping without it!! CPAP has actually saved my life! I say this because I have had very scary experiences before I got CPAP where I'd wake up not breathing and not be able to start breathing again.
1068014 tn?1255107187 I ditto Chrochetya's comments.
Avatar f tn This is my first and I don't know what to pack in a diaper bag for my baby or what to bring for me any suggestions
Avatar f tn No it comes with a ac/dc adapter to plug in. You can order a battery pack if you wish it to run off batterys instead.
Avatar f tn Hey mommys!!! I'm a ftm and I just wanted to know...what should I pack in my hospital bag for when I deliever? I'm 35weeks 4days so I do need to pack my babies bag as well as mine ASAP!!! Help please!
Avatar n tn They put me on a z pack and told me to take Claritin D. I am now three day into the z pack and I can now no longer hear water running when I wash my hands or brush my teeth. I am still running a slight fever and my head feels like it's going to explode. Inside my head it sounds like an endless rain storm. I am going crazy.....what else could this be??
648944 tn?1241469694 From what I've read on a site devoted to cpap (cpaptalk) some of the older machines are workhorses and some report length of service similar to yours. It would not hurt to plan for the day it does "give up the ghost". Have you had it checked to make sure it is still outputting the proper pressure? Also, many of the newer machines capture treatment data so that you can know if your treatment is effective, and some even have available software so you can monitor it yourself.
Avatar f tn I have the same problem with nose running and sneezing all day for about almost a month now. I got a new ResMed Elite CPAP machine for the very first time end of last July at air pressure 6 then increased to 9 last month that is when it started to cause my nose running and sneezing all day. I have boxes of Kleenex everywhere! Wow! I thought it was allergy, and I took pills but it didn't work. I then thought it was bad cold and I took Contac pills and again it didn't work.
Avatar n tn There is clear and recognized link between MS and sleep disorders --- at least some types of sleep disorders and especially when MS lesions are present in the brain stem. MS can definitely cause a type of sleep apnea called central sleep apnea. I'm wondering if you have that and if it might be why you need bi-pap instead of CPAP. Do you have trouble exhaling against the constant air pressure of CPAP (if you ever used it, of course)?
Avatar m tn Deep brain stimulation (DBS) is a neurosurgical procedure involving the implantation of pacemaker-like battery pack in your chest connected to electrodes terminating in a specific part of your brain. DBS can help lessen motor symptoms of stiffness, slowness and tremor.
Avatar f tn I'm 31 wks today and time is starting to fly by!!!!! I'm not really sure what to pack besides maybe 2 cute outfits for the baby! What are you ladies packing?? What should I NOT pack?? What did you pack that you just knew you would need but really didn't?? I also plan to breast feed so any suggestions on pumps or bottles and creams will definitely be helpful too!!!
