Hi. Thanks for the advice. My knee pain has subsided since my bi-lateral release, but the pain above the knee upto my hip continues. I have been directed down the route of 'snapping hip syndrome' - with IT Band / TFL catching the greater trochanter during the gait cycle of walking / running. I have a new programme this week to strengthen specific muscle groups to try and prevent this happening.
Will take a few months to know results.

However, when I showed my right knee last month this year I was told that I need full knee replacement. The surgeon recommended Otisknee replacement procedure. I had been diagnosed with Osteoarthritis in the left knee and beginning in the right knee four years ago. I was told that I was bone on bone in the left knee. Since I was only 50 years old the doctor said that I was too young for surgery. Four years later, 1 less thyroid, additional weight, I have been told I am too fat and I need to get my BMI down before they would consider.
5 months ago I had bilateral knee replacement, I am having sharp pain behind my right knee. This started about one month back. It usually only happens when i am laying down, but now is happenning when I am sitting. I had a total knee replacement done over 14 weeks ago and still have quite a bit discomfort. My knee down to my ankle will swell and I get a burning sensation that will last for hours. I have been to the doctors several times and i am being told that this is normal and could last up to 1 year. I had the other knee replaced and didn't have anywhere near the pain I am having with this knee.
Please HELP!!!! My 78 yr old mother has been experiencing continous painful sores/blisters in her mouth with pain in jaw up to temple area. She has been to two dentists, two primary care physicians, alerists, ENT, urgent care & emergency room twice, no one has been able to diagnose the problem & have put her on anitibiotics approx. 10 times now. The antibiotics do begin to help but within in 2-3 days after stopping the antibiotics the problem is back.
The anatomy of knee or knee joint configuration would have changed after the knee fusion surgery to do any sort of surgery after that. Yes I think an orthopedic surgeon experienced in knee replacement after knee fusion could possibly with difficulty could have done it.

I had an accident where I fractured a part of the tibial plateau. In one knee. It's a simple fracture from what I gather, 4-5 ? inches long, but the x-ray wasn't precise enough for the Ortho. who requested an MRI with a 3-D reconstucted image. She said that if there's too much distance between the bones, too much loss of alignment, surgery will be necessary.
Haven't sought a second opinion yet, but I'm wondering if there aren't alternatives to surgery?
m only 46) and having some other health issues (lupus, fibromyalgia, asthma), he would strongly suggest going with a total knee FUSION as opposed to a total knee REPLACEMENT. He said that because I am relatively young (although I don't feel young most days) and have the autimmune problems, there is an increased chance that a knee replacement would not last very long for me and would have to be done at least one more time, if not several times.
Blood clots are a common concern in a knee replacement, are they also a concern in a knee manipulation?
