Renal abscess on ultrasound

Common Questions and Answers about Renal abscess on ultrasound

abscess

Avatar n tn They have ruled out that these are cysts do to the density on the ultrasound. I also was diagnosed with a kidney infection at the same time and they cultured E-Coli. I am recovering from the pneumonia so we can address the lesions. I am going to have another CT Scan or Ultrasound to determine if there has been any shrinkage of the lesions which would indicate these are abscesses. My questions are as follows: 1. Could the E-Coli cause abscesses in the kidney? 2.
Avatar f tn The possible causes of renal mass or nodule are renal abscess, renal cysts, Angiomyolipoma which are benign non cancer tumors of the kidney, renal lymphoma or renal cancer. Investigations like CT and FNAC (fine needle aspiration cytology) can help in diagnosis. In case of benign nodules no active treatment is necessary and you should be under observation and monitoring at regular intervals. Consult a Urologist for further evaluation and management.
Avatar n tn Abdominal aorta normal.Right kidney normal.A developmental anomaly is accounting for cortical prominence of the left kidney where there is a very small anechoic lesion mesuring approximately 1.8cm and considered a cyst.Impression:No evidence of aneurysm.Small cortical cyst, left kidney.Normal right kidney. Now,I do not know whom to believe.(A)Is it calcification of the left kidney.
Avatar n tn A digital rectal exam should be performed to evaluate the prostate, and any prostatic secretions sent for analysis and culture. A transrectal ultrasound can be considered to evaluate for abscess. If there continues to be concern about bladder cancer, a cystoscopy or pyelogram can be considered - although with a urinalysis negative for blood, a urologist will be less likely to consider this option. A kidney ultrasound can be considered if kidney cancer is a concern.
Avatar n tn Hi, Cysts on the testes will need to be evaluated with an ultrasound to check their contents. This could be just to confirm they are indeed cysts. Are the cysts on your testes or on the epididymis? Epididymal cysts are usually harmless and are made up of fluid or sperms. These usually resolve by themselves overtime and do not need active intervention. The intervention required for testicular cysts depend on determining what they are made of and their etiology.
Avatar f tn I had a CT scan of my lungs and the doctor found what might be a renal abscess. I have no pain, fever, or any other signs. I am scheduled for a renal ultrasound. What else could this be? I have no problems urinating.

Avatar f tn I thought with the pain I had, it could be a renal problem, but it turned out to be an abscess. More specifically it is called Amoebic Liver Abscess. The abscess, if it is one, is relative small and can be cured by antibiotics. No need to go in for aspiration. It is 100% curable. Also go in for a blood test along with a liver function test to test the levels of the enzymes. But, FIRST consult a good gastroenterologist. I wouldnt worry if I were you.
Avatar m tn In early January she went to have an ultrasound and the results showed a hypoechoic lesion on the left kidney. The radiologist mentioned in the report that "differential considerations include renal cell carcinoma." When my mother went to the urologist, he said it was just a cyst and not to worry, and told her to come back in a few weeks for a CT scan, but she insisted on having one the next day. She will get the results tomorrow. Is this something we should be worried about?
Avatar f tn 1. couldn't find anything wrong with me and passed it off as IBS, or 2. put me on Prilosec and said it was just heartburn. Stats on me: I'm female, age 27, 5'8", and ~100lbs. No other health issues aside from the one I'm typing about. It has progressed over the years to the point where eating is nearly impossible. Here is a comprehensive (as much as possible anyways, there are a lot) of symptoms that I can think of.
Avatar n tn If the antibiotics are not helping the symptoms, a transrectal ultrasound can be considered to evaluate for any abscess. A scrotal ultrasound can also be considered to evaluate for epididymitis which may be causing your symptoms. For the balanitis, an antifungal cream such as Lotrimin can be tried if the hydrocortisone cream isn't working. I agree with the suggestion of an STD test, even though the risk of this is low. Followup with your personal physician is essential.
Avatar m tn If he rejects the idea, push him around on the issue, ask for at least a quick ultrasound, just to make sure that the lymphs are NOT swollen up like I'm thinking they are. But he could probably push hard on the area where these lymphs can be located or where you feel pain (altho sometimes a person with MA cannot point to an exact spot), and perhaps he'll realize something is amiss in your guts.

Avatar f tn WHEN HE PUSHED ON THE GALLBLADDER AREA I FOLDED IN HALF . SO HE SET ME UP FOR THE NEST AVAIBLE ULTRASOUND. THAT TEST WAS TODAY. THE DOCTOR DID PUT ME ON AN ANTIBODIAC CALLED LEVAQUIN SOMETHING PRETTY NEW AND THAT IS ONCE A DAY PLUS THE ANTACID. WHICH THIS ALL DOES HELP SOMEWHAT BUT I STILL HAVE PAIN I AM ONLY TIRED IN THE DAY ALSO .
Avatar n tn The doctor gave me MONUROL to take. In the middle of that night I became very sick. I had a pain on my left side that was slightly in the front and slightly in the back. It hurt too bad to even stand up straight. I took two warm baths and laid with a heat pad on me trying to eleviate the pain. The pain would not go away. I went back to the doctor that morning. I explained my symptoms of extreme pain and vomiting. I had a fever and showed an increase in blood in my urine.
599170 tn?1300977493 The worst story I have to tell is relatively recently when I had been in the hospital with renal failure. No one on the hospital staff paid any attention to me when I told them that I've been diagnosed with IBS over 20 years and I had reason to believe I had Celiac. I wanted them to pay attention to the fact that I'm gluten intolerant, which I told the staff all the time. The nephrologist didn't even pay attention to this for some reason.
Avatar n tn I also had all the tests for IC and they were all negative. During a ultrasound on my bladder, they found two (one on each side) 5 cm ovarian cysts. During the surgery to remove these, they found stage 4 advanced endometriosis with severe adhesions. The uterus had prolapsed and become attached to the intestines by scar tissue/adhesions. The cystoscopy done during surgery showed a slightly rough surface in the bladder but nothing remarkable. I had no idea about the endo or the cysts.
Avatar m tn I took her to ER where her oxygen saturation was 82%,she was admitted and has been given several test including CT scan of Lungs, Pulminary Function Test and UltraSound of Legs to see if she has blood clots. She was put on O2 24/7, that night her breathing became more labored and O2 was put up to 6L and oxygen sat was 78%. She has gotten worse over the last few hours and now O2 is on 9L and oxygen sat is 75%. Does anyone know what the cause of this could be?
Avatar n tn I had a thoracotomy on Dec. 20 to remove a tumor on the surface of my lung near my spine. Luckily, the tumor was benign. However, I'm still experiencing quite a bit of pain, especially near my shoulder blade and along the incision. Currently, I'm taking Ultram 50 mg every 6 hours during the day. I'm scheduled to return to work a week from today, and I had hoped that I would be pain free by now. I have a follow up appointment with my surgeon in mid March.
Avatar f tn After Convenia sneezing stopped in 48 hours, there was no running nose. My joy did not last. On the third day Cloud became lethargic, hardly ate. On the fourth day he did not eat or drink but secluded himself. I called the vet and laid on him everything I read about Convenia. He did not know that it stays in the system for 65 days, was unaware of Phizer's "foreign market experience" and stood by his diagnosis of co-morbidity.
Avatar m tn My dog (shepherd/husky mix, 73 pounds, 12 years old) began to have grand mal seizures last week. He had two seizures, one on Sunday and one on Monday, at almost exactly the same time in the evening. After the second seizure, the vet put him on phenobarbital (97 mg/2x per day). He's been on it for five days now and is still pretty out of it. He is extremely lethargic (sleeps most of the day), has coordination problems, and weakness in his hind end. He walks veeery slowly.
Avatar n tn it sounds like when you sleep your jaw is resting on the right side more, so that is why you have more presure on that side. all you'll need is a fitted night splint, and you should feel better right away. ear pain is usually associated with tmj. good luck.
