978175 tn?1304439383 re welcome, Crystalann. Sugar comes in different varieties other than refined table sugar, or in your case, coffeemate. Google simple carbs vs complex carbs. Simple carbs are digested easily thus their sugars enter the bloodstream more quickly resulting in your glucose levels being jacked up. Even the ADA's diet has too many carbs for you OR/AND you need drugs to help your body to process the carbs.
Avatar f tn If I drink even just a small bit of orange juice, for example (4 oz) I get quite bloated (like appearing 5 months pregnant). Carbohydrates seem to be the main issue (breads, refined and whole grain, juice, any sort of candy or high-sugar item, etc). I have few problems if I eat only protein and a few vegetables. I have had a colonscopy, CT scan, and numerous blood tests and all have come back normal (including celiac test).

Avatar n tn I have received conflicting information in the literature. I have read that white refined sugar promotes tumor growth, while unrefined sugars, e.g. fructose, maple syrup, agave nectar, etc., do not, and are therefore safe to consume. Conversely, I also have read that unrefined sugars do promote tumor growth because they raise the body's insulin levels, which in turn promotes estrogen production. Is there any conclusive science that the medical community is aware of, on any of this?
