transderm-scop

Avatar n tn Thanks for your input --- we ended up using the cream and slowly decreasing the amount of cream within a 24 hour period, per the Hospice nurse's suggestion. Of course the nurse was not at all concerned about weaning off Scopolamine since the patient was only on it for a couple months. I was concerned, so she agreed that we can do it with the cream if we felt safer.
Avatar n tn You're technically in a short-term 'addictive' phase to scopolamine, which is a belladonna alkaloid drug in use for thousands of years. I've taken it for sailing trips, and occasionally for sleep, but it's not a very 'clean' drug, and the doctor is right-- stop taking it.
Avatar f tn A fun thing to try would be the labor cake!! You can find the recipe online. I did this with my first son, ate the whole thing, and had him the next day!
617846 tn?1231553233 I am currently using a transdermal scopolamine patch for vertigo. I suffer from profound episodes of vertigo, so the doctor has prescribed me a 1.5 mg transderm patch. I only use it when the vertigo is extremely severe. My problem is this: When I apply the patch, (behind the ear, either right or left) I immmediately experience extreme anisocoria in whichever eye is nearer the patch.
Avatar f tn I've been diagnosed with labyrinthitis and have been wearing a scopolamine patch for the past 4 weeks. I've heard to cover 1/4, then 1/2, and then 3/4 of the patch to wean off avoid withdrawal. I'm 48 hours into covering 1/4 of the patch and i have a horrible headache, dizzy, and nauseated. Any help, tips, welcome. I just want to be able to go to work and take care of my kids like a normal person again.
746917 tn?1234571359 He was convinced I had a bad reaction to the scopolamine patch. He said it would take days to weeks for it to go away. He said the scopolamine affected the focusing mechanism in my eye. My blood vessels and eye nerves looked perfect, he said. He could tell my focus distance was off. My OB/GYN sent me to a neurologist. He couldn't determine what was wrong from the office exam, but ordered a MRI and bloodwork, including thyroid tests.
Avatar n tn This was told to me via a pharmacist. For reference, I was on it for 6 mths, sometimes having 2 on, due to violent vomitting because of a pelvic mass.
Avatar n tn My husband also had severe withdrawal from the scopolamine patch. He wore the patch for three weeks. Within 24 hours after removing the patch, he had severe nausea that didn't let up after four days. His doctors told us to wean off the patch this way: Put a band-aid over 1/4 of the patch first, after 3 days put the band-aid over 1/2 of the patch, then after the next three days cover 3/4 of the patch. It took a little over a week but it worked great!
Avatar f tn I was put on a scopolamine patch in Sept.'10 and have been wearing it fr the last 8 months. It is pute HELL everytime I try to get off of it. The Dr.s have diagnosed me with Meniere's Disease but I can't get off the patch for them to do definitive testing. My Dr. has put me on an oral for of scopolamine but if I am even an hour or two late taking my dose I am deathly ill. And each tinme I get sick it is worse than the time beforel.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if you all have any tips for avoiding sickness post-surgery. Did the scopolamine patch work for you? Zofran? I would love any advice to ease my mind! Thanks so much!!
Avatar f tn This is going to sound weird, but it was the only thing that worked for me! It's a homeopathic recipe, I tried everything and NOTHING worked until my mom made me this weird spray, here is the recipe. In a 4 Cup Pyrex measuring cup, add 3 Cups water, stir in 2 Tablespoons of Baking SODA and 1 Tablespoon of sea salt (NOT regular table salt). Break open one chamomile tea bag (I got the organic one) and pour into water, break open one peppermint tea bag (also organic one) and pour into water.
Avatar n tn I have also copied this down and for more information we have a Dermatology forum on MH Triggers for Mast Cell Disease Physical stimuli: Exercise, heat, skin friction, hot baths, hot drinks, cold exposure (especially swimming), sunlight, emotional stress, spicy foods.
Avatar f tn I went on a cruise this past weekend and decided to try the scopolamine motion sickness patch. I removed the patch after wearing it for a day and a half because I noticed my right eye had fully dilated. Its unclear if my eye was directly infected by me touching the patch and then my eye or if this was just a side effect (i don't remember touching my eye). My right eye has been dilated for four days now, each day going down a little.
Avatar n tn If an underlying cause is not found, anticholinergic medication can help, such as atropine, scopolamine, or even benadryl. The blood in your sputum is concerning, this needs to be checked by your doctor since that does not commonly accompany sialorrhea.

Avatar f tn I havent been able to keep anything down for about 3 days now. I've been to the ER and they prescribed me pills the pills only made it worse. I've tried to eat popsicles and peppermint but nothing seems to help I'm over dehydrated and I'm helpless.. I need help from other moms who have experienced this.
Avatar f tn The second neurologist is testing me for vitamin deficiencies Lyme DX, ANA. Just waiting for results. Thank you for reading this. It's been 4 months and I'm losing hope.
Avatar m tn Has anyone tied the scopolamine patch to alleviate depression? I have been on so many different anti-depressants for over 15 years; nothing alleviates it. I heard that many people have had relief from the patch when no other drugs seem to work, but I am scared to try it after reading the posts above. Please let me know if you have tried this patch to alleviate depression and what your results were/are. Thank you.
Avatar f tn once you try it u could get addicted to doing it and could become tolerant to the affects of the ingredients in the energy drink as well as the one shot of whiskey....this recipe is for someone who doesnt drink that much. Someone who is alcohol tollerant may need to exceed the whiskey to a higher dose...Good Luck.
10369646 tn?1418193617 Yeah its the metro gel. Why do you think it didn't work? For me, I didn't even have any of the symptoms associated with it so I had no idea about it. But I started the treatment last night and now I'm getting a side effect not listed so I'm nervous.
Avatar f tn You wrote that pre-surgery you quit norcos. So, you know what to expect. For physical relief, go to the Thomas recipe on the forum. Since you knew you were an addict, may I ask, what made you not give your pills to someone else to hold? Also, 3 months after surgery seems like a long time to still be taking pills. Lots of folks on here say their pain actually decreased when they STOPPED taking opiates. So, since you said you want to quit, you have to get the pills away from you.
Avatar f tn other anticholinergic meds would include benadryl (an antihistamine, but with anticholinergic side effects) or scopolamine. In that light I might try scopolamine- skin patches are sold over the counter and are placed on the skin behind the ear-- place your right over the.... that was going to be a joke, sorry-- they don't have to be on any particular area of skin, even though many people think they go behind the ear to affect motion centers there..
Avatar n tn if you have any questions i may be able to help. i used coke heavily for 5 years, but recently kicked it. just not sure what the thomas recipe would do for coke.
