rash

Avatar n tn I have had a rash for several years on my face (across nose and cheeks) as well as on my chest (neckline). A doctor told me that it was tinea versicolor. In looking at the images on the net of tinea, I do have spots of it but it is not what the rash on my chest and face is. The rest of the rash is not circular and does not respond to any of the creams or medications given to me. This rash is just a general redness.

Avatar m tn I'm an 18 year old male and I have had a reoccurring face rash for 6 years. The rash is typically on my upper cheeks, 1/2 and inch or so below my bottom lip, sometimes and my jaw, and sometimes on my forehead. It seems to be triggered by almost everything. If I ever sleep anywhere other than my house I will surely get it. I also get it from swimming, being in nature (mountain biking and hiking). Being in the sun irritates it. Water makes my skin feel constricted.
Avatar m tn I heard a medical doctor discussing the dangers of artificial sweeteners on a radio show and she happened to mention that it can cause rosacea-like redness or rash on the face especially on the cheeks near the nose. Sucralose in made by chlorinating sucrose and has been found to have toxic effects in the body.
Avatar f tn I never had anything on my face but after using a few exfoliating pads, I think I did scarring of my face don't know but nothing seems to work and for the past 2 years I have been going crazy. Oh I also have them in my forehead and chin and they burn the same way. HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!
Avatar f tn sounds like I have the same problem but I can't figure out any singular event that triggered the redness in my face. about 3 mo after giving birth to my first child, I'm 33, I developed the condition. It seemed like overnight that my skin just changed forever. It's been six months and I have found nothing that gives me relief. I have been to two derms with no success.I have taken light to heavy cortisteroids that would only give me temp relief at the cost of thinning out my skin.
Avatar f tn Hello Rosacea is an important possibility for your symptoms. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder of the central part of the face , such as forehead, cheeks, nose and chin. Pimples or acne are sometimes included as part of the definition. It is really frustrating when none of the treatment works. I suggest you to get a biopsy skin done to confirm the diagnosis and then start with the treatment. I hope it helps. Take care and regards.
Avatar m tn I have had this rash on my face for some time. I'd say 18 months, to 2 years. Symptoms: I have this red rash (as seen in the picture) that sometimes peels, and on rare occasions itches. It often becomes sore if I wash it with any kind of soap. If I just leave it alone most of the skin appears smooth, but in the crease on the side of my nose dead skin flakes off. Peeling rarely happens anywhere else. It use to be just on the side, and end of my nose.
Avatar n tn Hi, You have not described the nature of the rash nor is the photo available but nonetheless the most common causes for rash on the face would be allergy and acne. Azelaic acid (FINACEA Gel), 15%, is indicated for topical treatment of inflammatory papules and pustules of mild to moderate rosacea. Rosacea begins as erythema (flushing and redness) on the central face and across the cheeks, nose, or forehead.
Avatar m tn Try washing your face with Head and Shoulders shampoo (if your doc says its o.k.). I have riba rash on my face starting between the eyes and working it's way to the sides of my nose and cheek bones. I look like I have a constant sunburn going.
Avatar n tn I have the same rash on my face as described earlier. They are small little bumps which itch and come and go every other day or so. They are not on my neck or any other part of my body. I was diagnosed with rosacea last year and the bumps seem to get worse each time. I have been using the microgel as prescribed by my dermatologist and that seems to help. I also use a cortisole cream which makes them go away but then they appear over a few days.
Avatar m tn I read on this forum once that skin thinning on the face after using hydrocortisone a bit too much is reversible. I've googled and searched for hours upon hours and haven't found any cures or ways to reverse skin thinning. I know i used the hydrocortisone too much and that has to be the reasoning for red and flaky skin on my cheeks. So my question is how is this reversible?
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be due to rosacea, irritation, infection or dermatitis. Rosacea is a red facial rash that may present as red papules and sometimes pustules on the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin. The red face may be due to persistent or prominent blood vessels and may be associated with dry and flaky facial skin. This may be aggravated by sun exposure and hot and spicy food or drinks. The cause of rosacea is unknown.
Avatar f tn An ophthalmologist has his/her education and special instruments. Rosacea usually has a rash on forehead, cheeks, nose and eyelids.
Avatar n tn I have redness on my face for a long time. My cheeks and nose sometime are red, but my forehead and chin are normal. That's not from sun damage. I don't like that redness, so I would like to know what ist that, and how can I fix that.
Avatar n tn I have a red non itchy rash on my forehead, sides of my face and now I have a red small circular dot (size of a eraser on a pencil) right below my ear. My eye feels like I have something in it and the rash is always there but some days its worse then others. If this is Rosecea what happens if its left untreated? Since there is no cure and visiting a doctor would only confirm the diagnosis is there any over the counter meds that would stifle the symptoms?
Avatar n tn Hi there, I have been using a topical steroid (Elocon) on my face for the last 2 years now. I have tried to stop using this recently and have experienced a terrible red itchy, flakey rash on my face. I have been reading info on the internet and now realise I've probably got steroid induced Rosacea. I am currently taking erythromycin antibiotic tablets to help with the inflammation. Can anyone please suggest anything else that may help me?
Avatar f tn t spell at all - I have a rash on my face - primarily around my eyes and nose, but also some small places on my chest and neck. I have had this "rash" for about two months. It is a bumpy rash that itches and also hurts to touch it. I have seen a doctor that works on our campus (I work for a University and my regular doctor was out of town that week), he said it was an allergic reaction to something and told me to use cortisone cream on it.
1608528 tn?1298051282 Hello, One possibility for such kind of a rash can be rosacea. Rosacea is a cutaneous disorder primarily of the central part of the face , such as forehead; cheeks ;nose; and chin. Pimples or acne are sometimes included as part of the definition. The other possibility is of contact dermatitis or eczema skin. Treatment is diagnosis specific, so please consult a dermatologist and get the diagnosis confirmed.
Avatar n tn After reading about rosacea, I am thinking it might not be rosacea. I do not have any rash or bumps, just little veins filled with blood. I am a male in my early 50s, I do not drink alcohol or smoke. I drink only one cup of coffee a day. There doesn't seem to be a time it is better or worse. I just seem to get more red with each subsequent year. Any idea what this could be? Do you think it is a form of rosacea?
Avatar f tn I've had a reoccurring rash that I get around my mouth. I had been putting betamethasone on it which would clear it up but then would come back within a week if I quit using cream. Finally got insurance and was prescribed a po antibiotic and triamcinolone acetonide dental paste?? Even that seemed to help and antibiotics kept it gone for about 1-3 months but back. I'm 28. Ive quit using all products and even towels on face to no avail.
Avatar f tn Hello, Basically for the last 7 or 8 years (im 19 now) I have had redness on my face. It is on my chin not all of it just the centre, my cheeks, and my nose and a tiny bit on the forehead. My nose is the worst. My face tends to go very red if I'm embarrassed or have hot flushes. It does not itch, and is not raised or flaky. I also have very oily skin and my skin does not get dry very often.
