Avatar f tn Hello. Do you take any tests of diagnosing kidney disease? How much is your creatinine and GFR? Generally speaking, high creatine and low GFR will result in itch. If you have no idea about the underlying reason of itch, you should take a kidney function test in hospital to figure it out. If it’s kidney disease, you can try to use Funeng Therapy that is quite professional in the field of kidney disease.
Avatar f tn A rash can be a sign of the kidney disease. I would have it looked at by a doctor.
Avatar n tn Hello, Itchy skin that isn't accompanied by other obvious skin changes, such as a rash, is most often caused by dry skin (xerosis). Other causes include skin conditions like dermatitis, and hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain food. Since you are having lethargy also, so anemia and liver disease need to be investigated thoroughly.
Avatar f tn Testing for Lyme Disease is also extremely inaccurate. The tests only pick up on 50% of cases of Lyme Disease. If they have already tested you for it, have them test you again. I know from personal experience, because I was sick with many symptoms for months and doctors had no idea what was wrong with me. It turned out it was Lyme Disease, even though all the doctors said my tests were negative for it. There is a really good Lyme Disease section right here on MedHelp.
Avatar f tn Hello, The most common cause of itchy skin without any rash is dry skin. The other causes are hives, internal diseases like liver and kidney disorders, diabetes, iron deficiency anemia, irritation and allergic reactions to chemicals, wool, soaps, cosmetics and certain foods. You can apply an anti-itch cream or lotion to the affected area. Oral antihistamine, such as Benadryl can also be used. You should take a comfortably cool bath and wear smooth-textured cotton clothing.

Avatar n tn I would encourage both of you to talk with his endocrinologist about looking into possible changes that can bring his a1c levels well down below 7. That truly is his best protection not only against kidney disease, but against other complications. If sugar levels are maintained at near normal levels, damage cannot happen.
Avatar f tn I have a 14 year old cocker spaniel who was recently diagnosed with kidney disease. She originally got sick a few weeks ago with pacreatitis, and when she recovered her lab work showed the kidney problems. We have been giving her fluids every other night as well as the epakitin powder with her food. Her blood report was better this last time. However she seems pretty good, has a good appetite ect and I'm wondering if there is anything else that could be causing this disease?

Avatar f tn Hi there, about a month and a half ago I started feeling like something was always under both my ribs and it has been persistently like this and it's really uncomfortable, I'm also always itchy at night and have been feeling really dizzy and lightheaded constantly. I've went to my doctors and they took my bloods and all that came up was that my potassium levels were slightly high.

387767 tn?1345872027 Be sure to discuss all recommended vaccines with your veterinarian. A cat with kidney disease or kidney failure should not be vaccinated at all. Long-term feeding of an all-dry-food diet is also suspected as a factor in Chronic Renal Failure. Cats' kidneys are highly efficient and adapted to life in the desert, where they would get most or all of their water from eating their prey.

I have kidney damage (kidney disease) due to an autoimmune disease. Kidney function is at 26% now, up from 20%. Autoimmune disease is in remission since I had all the mercury fillings removed from my teeth.
Avatar n tn My daughter has always had a face that got very red in the sun, especially under her eyes...even w/ sun screen. This summer she has had a bout of fifth's disease and now has the same sun sensitivity and an itchy rash on her arms and behind her knees. The fifth's disease was almost 2 months ago. The rash is definately worse in the sun but also seems to get worse when she is very warm. The rash is itchy and burns when I put sunscreen on her.
