Avatar n tn The Nexium he is taking is giving him awful cramps (proven by discontinuing the Nexium). Can ranitidine be used safely with a damaged liver?
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn According to the FDA plavix should not be take with prilosec or nexium. I'm not sure about any other ppi. Ask your Cardio or GI doc. They should be able to give you the infor you need. I am taking plavix and was on nexium. Had to go off it because of the FDA findings. Am now on pepcid You can also look on the FDA website for more info on that. Good luck.
Avatar m tn I HAVE BEEN PRESCRIBED 150MG OF ZANTAC AND ALSO 40MG OF NEXIUM DAILY FOR RELIEF OF POST NASAL MUCUS CONGESTION. ARE THE COMBINATION EXCESSIVE?
Avatar m tn Changed my diet and included good amount of vegetables. Since 2008, I moved from Nexium to Ranitidine. Also, from 2010, I take Ranitidine as needed instead of taking them every morning an hour after my Thyroid medicine. I have been doing pretty good since then. I have been doing bootcamp since 2011 and I work out 4 days (1 hr, early morning). Reason for my posting to this website is because of an incident which happened on Presidents Day.
Avatar n tn I have bein diagnost with Focal intestinal Metaplasia. My Doc put me on Nexium 40mg for Daily.I don't think Nexium works. I have ball sensation in my esophogus, feels like I can't breed. Don't have Insurange I'm keep paying these Doctors, getting very Expensive, seems nothing helps with my problems.I need help despertly. I don't know what else to do?
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
Avatar f tn I am a 37 year old female with a normal weight BMI. I have been on 40 mg Nexium since 5/2017 for GERD and LPR. I started slowly cutting down November 2017. I am currently on 30 mg Nexium and really struggling. I don’t have heartburn or voice issues again, but I have a dull ache between my shoulder blades. It has gotten worse and worse the more I cut down on the Nexium. Sometimes it is almost debillitating and I feel scared of esophagus issues.
Avatar f tn i have tried everything my dr has suggested and everything ive read nothing is working... like for example sitting up higher when sleeping eating smaller meals nothing an hr before bed. Nexium doesn't work my dr has me taking pepcid in the morning and at night with tums. Milk doesn't help water all day long ... The list is really endless... It's really horrible this pregnancy is the worse by far.
1518347 tn?1290837751 I feel bloated for a week now. I have been taking ranitidine 150mg 2x a day. It doesn't seem to work. Also, I am not able to breathe properly. I have a history of asthma. Does Gerd and Asthma go hand in hand? Moreover, I just have a feeling of not being well. My rib cage is paining a lot. Please help me..
Avatar n tn Yes, all that jezbo said. I am guessing your diagnosis is laryngopharyngeal reflux, a type of acid reflux that affects the throat and voice box. I am on 40mg of Prilosec twice a day, an hour before breakfast and dinner. Still have the lump in my throat. You can look this up on the net and see if it sounds like what you have. Also, do not eat within about three hours of going to bed. I am sleeping on two pillows to prop myself up some, as using only one causes the acid to come up.
Avatar n tn t allow Nexium to be sold/patented because it was so similar to Prilosec. Prilosec = Omeprazole vs Nexium = Esomeprazole, just go with Omeprazole and pay the generic copay.
Avatar n tn There is no 'safer.' It depends on which one works better for you. They don't all work by a completely similar mode of action. So you'll have to try to find the one that works and gives you the fewer side-effects.
Avatar f tn If so is there another drug that can help with reflux/heartburn that is not a PPI? I had problems with Nexium as well (dizziness and rapid heart rate) so I'm hesitant to try another PPI drug.
Avatar f tn Domperidone is taken 3 times daily before meak 30 mins.but Nexium brought lots of side effects for me.so the specialist switched it with Protonix20 same administer.after several days i have had it for 40mg.twice a day.i raised my bedhead 3"; now to 4".i still suffer from acidity erosion up to my mouth.i feel i have no life.
1210142 tn?1266077031 Taking Diltiazem, Lisinopril, Aspirin and Ranitidine as well. Have been having constant stomach and chest pains and the doctors are not able to find the cause- at least they don’t think it is a cardiac one./the chest pains/ My gastroenterologist suggested I stop taking Ranitidine and switch to Pantroprazole. I have read a lot about the interaction between Plavix and PPI’s but he thinks only Omeprazole have more effect on Plavix, not Pantoprazole.
Avatar f tn t been on ranitidine long, i recently swapped from omeprazole which did nothing for me to ranitidine, so im still giving it some time before i rule out whether its working or not (although so far im not feeling much difference) I didn't realise that food intolerances may not come up in blood work, thanks for that information! seeing an actual gi doctor will be my next step.
Avatar f tn With this the docs decided to put me on Nexium which helped in the beginning but then the feeling came back, now I am on Ranitidine twice a day with taking Mylanta (for gas). I am worried and have been called a hypochondriac. I have had anxiety attacks for the past 10 years. It just started all of a sudden and over the years have progressed to hypochondria which brings on the anxiety. Could what I am going through be part of anxiety?
