Avatar m tn - stomach cramps / gastric pains below the ribcage at the center area -slightly bloated -gassy, need to burp and pass gas frequently -occasional diarrhoea, very seldom, mostly bowel movements are normal but stools are a bit greenish At first I went to a GP, she prescribed ranitidine, hyoscine butylbromide and eviline forte suspension. However it was not much of a help and I went to the hospital that night for severe stomach cramps/gastric pains.
Avatar m tn In 2000 I developed a duodenal ulcer that was diagnosed and treated with Ranitidine. I was scoped twice and told I had a Hiatus hernia but no H pylori. It took years to fix and finally after overdosing on Antacids it went away in 2005. I became dangerously B12 deficient because I took high doses of Ranitidine for too long. I stopped the Antacids all together and my B12 returned to normal. After stopping antacids and fixing the B12 I started to develop a problem with swallowing.
Avatar f tn My consultant has taken me off omeprazole and replaced it with ranitidine due to the fact that my magnesium is low, and is making my calcium low too. Has anyone else had experience of this change, and if so, how has your body reacted to it.
Avatar n tn he had x-rays, ct scan, upper and lower endoscopy (which the doctor discovered a very angry silver dollar size ulcer), biopsied of his ulcer and found out he has h-pylori. he already finished taking his prevpak and is now on the second week of the sucralfate-nexium-ranitidine therapy. the pain has not disappeared but the discomfort is not so prevalent. we are hoping that the pain will go away soon.
Avatar f tn ve been getting much worse this past week. Had a lot of nausea going on and got prescribed Zantac (ranitidine). Took my first dose the night before last, was feeling a little better yesterday afternoon, then in the evening I ate a baked sweet potato and felt bloated, crampy, and tight all over my back and abdomen. I was also feeling lightheaded and weak while I was having these feelings.
1213000 tn?1280463161 I know that Motrin interact with blood thinners like warfarin and coumarin as well as some peptic ulcer disease treatments like cimetidine and ranitidine. The best thing is to discuss the option of changing your medication with your rheumatologist. Tell him/her about your cardiologist’s warning so he/she can pick up your ideal treatment. As you can guess, suggesting alternative analgesics in the forum would be too hazardous in your case.
Avatar f tn Hello..well where do I begin..I'll try to keep it short as possible. Not long ago i started experiencing mild to moderate pain in my right side under rib cage. It would come and go and would chalk it up as something I ate. Well recently went to dinner with my wife and not long after experienced difficulty swallowing and turned into severe heartburn. Went home and popped a Zantac and solved the heart burn issue mind you you I have never had any symptoms of gerd reflux etc. ever.
Avatar n tn He also gave me an upper GI endoscopy test, scheduled for this upcoming Wednesday. He also prescribed me to Ranitidine, which very much helped the symptoms. My stomach does not experience pain too much anymore, I primarily only experience the indigestion symptoms. Also, all of these symptoms kind of just popped up all of a sudden, and it was during an extremely stressful time of the semester.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar n tn Quite a bit of insomnia, usually around 4 am. Not much heartburn, but I do take Rantidine for that, as I have stomach ulcer problems. My obgyn says it is safe to take, and really helps.

Avatar n tn A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
520191 tn?1355635402 Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.
Avatar f tn I take 20mg at night because it makes me dizzy but i dont get the heartburn until the afternoon the next day. I was wondering is it safe to take ranitidine 150mg effervescent? I took it all the time when needed before being back on prozac and it works i was wondering does it cause any side affect?
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.

956351 tn?1246927519 He can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help. Also ask him to keep his fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. In case the symptoms persist then peptic ulcer disease has to be probed.Pls consult a gastroenterologist in that case. I hope that helps. Please do keep me posted on how your grandfather is doing or if you have any additional doubts.Warm regards.
Avatar m tn I'm a 33 year old female who has been having upper left abdominal pain for the past 5 months. It's a burning pain on my left side near my ribs, unlike anything I've felt before. It's oddly worse if I make a sudden movement or stretch. When palipated by a doctor the area is sore. When I initially visited the doctor, they diagnosed me as having acid reflux and prescribed omeprazole.
