Avatar f tn Gaviscon or prescribed ranitidine have been my saviours this last trimester. Was 100 percent against any medication before trying ranitidine. Sickness and heartburn gone!
Avatar f tn I too suffered with horrendous heartburn in my first pregnancy and tried the usual gaviscon, milk etc. This time it was so bad third trimester I went to my doctors and he prescribed me ranitidine, I take one a day and its been a life saver. Hope this helps! Good luck.

Avatar f tn I am almost 12 weeks pregnant and have some serious heart burn, tried Tums, milk, gaviscon..... Any other safe suggestions???? This is my second pregnancy.
Avatar n tn You will be given a PPI tablet if its that,Im on Pantoprazole. I use Gaviscon or Sucralfate liquid. Have you tried Ranitidine? That may work.
7110266 tn?1392136011 Gaviscon is the number one recommended choice. I have severe acid reflux and gaviscon chewable tabs works along with 300mg of ranitidine a day.
Avatar m tn ve now progressed to difficulty swallowing and for the first time this morning, fairly severe heart burn that I took some gaviscon for. Can ranitidine stop working? Should I try something else? Any advice would be helpful... it's been 5 weeks of misery and it keeps me pretty anxious (I'm not necessarily miserable, just wondering when it will all end) and frustrated to the point that I'm on the verge of tears at times.
Avatar f tn d do it after every feed) we took her to the hospital and in the end we had to put infant gaviscon in every bottle, but it worked a treat! (: and never bothered her after that!
Avatar f tn My consultant has taken me off omeprazole and replaced it with ranitidine due to the fact that my magnesium is low, and is making my calcium low too. Has anyone else had experience of this change, and if so, how has your body reacted to it.
Avatar f tn I have been using gaviscon and was talking to a doctor at work this morning about when I was due etc and she said take pantoprazole (aka somac) u need a prescription in Australia but she said its a category A drug and worked wonders for her
1437406 tn?1283839310 I would think her dr would have suggested taking gaviscon, mylanta or another antacid daily, or whenever symptoms provoke. www.tandurust.com/online-health-tips/stomach-acidity-natural-remedies.
Avatar f tn Gaviscon is safe during pregnancy. If this doesn't work your GP can prescribe Ranitidine or Omeprazole. Had it for nearly a month before asking for help...why suffer?...anyway, it all works.
Avatar n tn You can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help.If the symptoms persist then a gastroenterologist’s opinion will be the best. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or of you have any additional doubts.Kind regards.
Avatar m tn ve learned to supplement my Esomeprazole (none of the others work) with ranitidine over the few days and use antacids/Gaviscon advance as needed. Extra propping up when 'laying down' is also required. It really reinforces all the usual GERD management tips, like eat little plain meals to nourish, avoid greasy or strong flavours, avoid caffeine, avoid acidic (fruit juice) or fizzy drinks.
Avatar f tn s the over-the-counter equivalent of the prescription Ranitidine (I was prescribed it when I was pregnant). 2 of those twice a day should do the trick!
Avatar f tn Try rennies or gaviscon n try milk. I also find drinkin water with ice cubes in helps a little. I suffer so badly from acid reflux n heartburn have dun even before being pregnant but even worse now n have it everyday.
Avatar f tn I have been treated with Pantoloc, Prilosec, Ranitidine, Pariet (initially before the endoscopy I was diagnosed with GERD) and Sulcrate. All of these medicatons made my condition worse, much much worse. It got to the point that I could not even eat anything because my heartburn was so bad. In mid november is when I last took medication. It is to the point that I can't even tolerate Gaviscon. I called the Gastroentorologist and was told by the receptionist!!?
215164 tn?1269466240 Well im on omeprazole and ranitidine and neither of them are working for me.... tried everything - chamomile tea, peppermint tea, tums, peptac, gaviscon, milk....bleh. nothing works.
Avatar m tn In 2000 I developed a duodenal ulcer that was diagnosed and treated with Ranitidine. I was scoped twice and told I had a Hiatus hernia but no H pylori. It took years to fix and finally after overdosing on Antacids it went away in 2005. I became dangerously B12 deficient because I took high doses of Ranitidine for too long. I stopped the Antacids all together and my B12 returned to normal. After stopping antacids and fixing the B12 I started to develop a problem with swallowing.
Avatar n tn I could take 2 Pantoprazoles a day but it would interfere with taking the Sucralfate or Gaviscon. I take Gaviscon at night. I really need it to go and to eat properly again. Has anyone else had it for ages then it has gone? Im hoping it will heal and I can get back to normal.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
329165 tn?1515471990 But I am 35yrs old and taking Nexium for the rest of my life and drinking Zantac and Gaviscon after every meal is no picnic. It tastes awful.
Avatar f tn Now i am doubtful that i am pregnant as i removed my copper T recently. I am under treatment for stomach inflammation. i am taking ranitidine 150 twice daily for the last 2 months and buscopan when i have stomach pain. i take antacid when have heartburn if i happen to eat anything which is not suitable for my present stomach condition. pls tell me, is it safe to take those medicines if i am pregnant? or do i have to abort if i am pregnant? i am very much worried....thanks in advance.
