1518347 tn?1290837751 I feel bloated for a week now. I have been taking ranitidine 150mg 2x a day. It doesn't seem to work. Also, I am not able to breathe properly. I have a history of asthma. Does Gerd and Asthma go hand in hand? Moreover, I just have a feeling of not being well. My rib cage is paining a lot. Please help me..
Avatar f tn Developed difficulty swallowing food (not the lump in throat you get with GERD) I had right side (under ribs) pain since july 2010. ER did an ultrasound. Huge gallstone in gallbladder. Had gallbladder removed. We are now it Nov 2010 - Right pain is still there. Dr suspects gastroparesis ... I take domeproridone 5mg to help with digestion but pain is still there. I still have difficulty swallowing. I am confused by these attacks because the feel the same as before gallbladder removal.
Avatar f tn I doubt if it is oil. It's more than likely bile and stomach acids. Women are more prone to gallbladder attacks like this especially if you are pregnant or have been pregnant. Get your gallbladder checked. It could be stones or the pre-stone formation. It made me sick as a dog too especially when eating fatty foods.
Avatar f tn The GI Dr recommended I have my gallbladder out and wanted to schedule surger. Was a little hesitant so went for a second opinion to a well known GI Dr. He told me that no surgeon would remove my gallbladder without me having stones. Now I'm confused. He wanted to schedule a endoscopy to rule out an ulcer. At this point I'm miserable every day, been taking protonix and ranitidine daily and constantly have to burp and still feel the pain on my side from time to time.
Avatar f tn I’ve taken omeprazole, carafate and ranitidine but it doesn’t seem to help. I know I need to do an endoscopy and I had one scheduled but I had no one to take me because honestly I’m alone in all of this, my family isn’t very supportive and I have no one to drive me 40 mins to the GI for the endoscopy. I was hoping someone could help.
Avatar n tn You should get your gallbladder checked and your small intestines, because you have symptoms after eating
Avatar n tn First, these are my symptoms: -bloated stomach -acid reflux -gas -constipation -headache -back pain (especially when stomach is hurting). like sore muscles or a knot in my back. -feeling like the muscles or ribs on my right side need to relax or the joints need to be "cracked," or need to pop. it's almost like being ticklish there. sometimes it feels full or bloated.
Avatar f tn ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar n tn All negative except for a small gallbladder polyp which we are checking up one once a year. I also had a lower colonscopy after a little bit of bleeding but found a hemorrhoid. I was dx with costochondritis after having some rib pain, chest pain, and back pain in the ER one year ago. I decided to have the Linx surgery done in September 2013 but my 48 hour Bravo test and Esophageal Manometry both came back normal. I then had a 24 hour PH test for non-acid reflx which also came back normal.
Avatar f tn I have had abdominal ultrasound which included, kidneys, liver, pancreas, gallbladder, spleen, bile duct, and aorta. Also had abdoman ultrasound done and a vaginal ultrasound done. All was normal. They ran alot of bloodwork and said it was all normal. They also checked for h-pylori and it was normal. I have been having weird pains in upper right side under breast and it go around directly on my side, and in lower back. Weird.
Avatar n tn A few years ago my doctor put me on 75 mg Ranitidine to take twice a day before meals. A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
Avatar n tn The pain comes and goes just like contractions. Occasionally there is nausea. My doctor thought that it was gallbladder related , maybe stones, ultrasound showed nothing. Dr. considered ct scan , decided against it at last min. Sent home with vicodin, told to come back the next day. Pain just as bad , vicodin works for 30-40 mins then i start feeling it break threw again.
Avatar n tn She can also take zantac(ranitidine)or prilosec(omeprazole). These will help. Also keep her fluid electrolyte balance optimum by drinking lots of fluids. If the symptoms persist then an examination by a physician is desirable to confirm the severity of GERD or gall bladder disease.Treatment will follow the diagnosis. Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how your mother in law is doing or if you have any additional queries.Kind regards.
520191 tn?1355635402 Over a year ago i was given ranitidine for the treatment of GERD. I took my first dose and i started to feel nausea so i went to bed, during the night i started vomiting and not like any vomit i had ever experienced before. i thought nothing of it, until my heart began to race through out the night. the next morning i thought i might be allergic to one of my medication as i was prescribed 2 medication all at once.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
Avatar m tn To whom it may concern, I'm a 26 year old male who has been drinking heavily for the past 5 years. Yes, I'm quite aware that I should see a doctor soon but I have to wait until I can afford health insurance. I hope to get a piece of mind through this forum. Recently, I've been experiencing pain in the upper right back quadrant and some in the front in the same area. The skin area is tender and just discomfortable without too much pain.
2006603 tn?1331329327 Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn In order to treat Acid Reflux/GERD I have been taking Ranitidine/Zantac per doctors advice. I started developing various side effects several months ago. To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so.
378497 tn?1232143585 This may have nothing to do with anything neurological, but folks on here have such a wide experience, I thought I'd ask. For many months now, I've been having significant GI problems. First, I was waking up several nights a week with severe nausea and chills. Doc put me on Nexium in a.m. and ranitidine (Zantac) in p.m., which made that and the frequent chest squeezing I'd been having pretty much go away.
Avatar f tn Zantac or the generic ranitidine, my Dr gave me the ok on Monday because everything I eat gives me bad heartburn
Avatar f tn Doctor has prescribed me omeprazole and ranitidine together - neither are working at all, tried every thing possible. Every doctor I see tells me the exact same thing - it's bad acid reflux which is causing the discomfort in my upper abdo - still doesn't make you feel any better though does it!!! It's not them having to live their life like this.
