Ranitidine for newborns

Common Questions and Answers about Ranitidine for newborns

zantac

Avatar f tn Three to four years ago, my pediatric had prescribed me 300 mg Ranitidine for heart burn. A few months later, a urgent care physician had prescribed me the same medicine. In total, I've taken two bottles of Ranitidine (approx 2 months worth of tablets). I've been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
Avatar f tn Newborns can't watch TV. Newborns eyes can barely see. You have to be 12 inches in front of your baby for them to make you out. All they can see is dark color. So even if she puts your babybto watch TV they can't see anything just hear it and see the light from it.
2006603 tn?1331329327 My son has the milk protein allergy so he is on Similac Alimentum. We give him gas drops and he sleeps in a cradle swing so hes not laying flat on his back. I just dont know what im going to do if medicaid wont pay for his ranitidine. He's already had a pretty rough start in life, he had to have surgery on August 9th because he had pyloric stentosis (sp?), he had the milk protein allergy, he has night time colic and now i cant get his ranitidine until oct which helps him wonders.
7172456 tn?1403092946 Just a quick one, how maybe boxes of newborn size nappies did you use before they needed the next size? I have 2 boxes of nappies for newborns, will I need more or will my baby grow out of them before I need another box? Thankyou!!!

Avatar n tn A couple years ago he also put me on 20 mg Omeprazole to take once a day for 14 days, after which he said I could start taking the Ranitidine again if i still had the heartburn.
520191 tn?1355635402 Wow...that's awful! While I never had a reaction like Freddie's....I do believe Ranitidine made me persistently nauseous for an entire year straight. I've had GERD, a hiatal hernia and stomach problems for years. After a long stint with Nexium, I decided to get on a non-PPI and something more minor. Ranitidine was the suggestion. Though I've always struggled with nausea here and there....for a year of my life I struggled with nausea constantly. Almost every single day.
Avatar f tn Uh I never said anything about only using one breast...they told us to use each breast but to keep the baby on for 10-15 minutes for each feeding so that the milk has a chance to come out....I'm pretty sure she wouldn't be able to have a class if she was giving the wrong information.
Avatar f tn Some studies have linked EBV with Hashimoto's, but there's nothing conclusive. Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
15695260 tn?1549593113 Choices for a generic over the counter antacid just got smaller as the drug maker of generic ranitidine under the brand name of Zantac has pulled distribution of the medication world wide. Last week the FDA stated they found cancer causing chemicals in some samples taken from batches of generic rantitidine or Zantac. https://www.fda.
Avatar f tn Getting terrible indigestion for most of the day, everyday and its driving me insane. I burp hugely one after the other and it makes me feel quite ill. Anyone got any tips?
2006603 tn?1331329327 I am 33w4d and yesterday my doc prescribed me 150mg tablets to take twice a day for heartburn. Anyone use ranitidine while pregnant? I just want to make sure its safe.
Avatar m tn To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so. I also noticed when taking TUMS that I only need to take less than one tablet for it to be effective (say about 500 mg /day. Occasionally 750mg). One question I have is would it be better to only take Tums instead - even if I need to use ~500mg each day?
Avatar f tn Hey ladies! So this is my first pregnacy and im in need of some tips.. This seems to be a often concern cause I'm sure some of you mama bears over buy on some stuff to find out the little ones grow out way too fast.. So I mean I really need advice on how many boxes I should start out with for newborns. Most of you will probably reply with (it depends). Of course cause all baby's are different. I was a 6 lb baby and my fiance was 7 lbs. So very tiny baby's..
Avatar f tn we ended up buying a rocking/musical bassinet for next to the bed for our little girls first few months. he said that if you go ahead and get one that rocks and plays music, youre set for all of your babies preferences. one of his boys like the rocking and the other liked the lullaby it played. that way also, im close to my baby without worrying about rolling onto her or her suffocating on a pillow/blanket.
Avatar f tn So, I have a bassinet in my room and and I plan on having my baby sleep in there in our room for the first while. My question is in the nighttime when the babys diaper needs changing did most mommies have these necessities to change them in your room or would you walk and change them on the change table in their room during the night.....??
Avatar f tn We went out for coffee after 1 week. My mum had told me your supposed to keep them home for the first 6wks but she had her last baby like 30something years ago and dr said its just not necessary.
Avatar n tn Hi I have had severe Hives for 2 mos. This is the worse outbreak I've ever had, and my last case of Hives was 9 yrs ago. I was in the ER 2x this past month, put on IV steroids, antihistamines & Ranitidine. I had extensive blood work done for a multitude of alleries- all negative, Lupus, Lympoma, Lymes disease, CAT scan, all negative. I've done 2 rounds of Presnisone (which helped greatly), but 2 days after the last Prednisone pill- boom the hives came back bad.
Avatar n tn It is uncommon for it to happen, but I was really paranoid about it and opted to not give her water for a while. Plus a newborn's stomach is so small that an ounce or two of water will fill them up and then they won't want their breastmilk or formula, which is the main source of nutrition.
Avatar m tn The next day I went back to the doctor and she said the x Ray showed I had lots of stool and prescribed Miralax and ranitidine because she thought the abdominal pain was caused by acid. I took Miralax for two weeks and it stopped the bloating I had a follow up on April 7th. Before the follow up I went on that Monday because I had blood in my stool the emergency Doctor of the clinic said it was an anal fissure and increased the miralax to three caps.
Avatar f tn I had my son on the 5th and he sleeps about 6 hours at night now. But he needs to be either swaddled or wrapped in his favorite blanket. We also need to hold him until be falls asleep or he will scream bloody murder until we pick him up. What I do to calm my little one is I lay down on the couch and put him on top of me with his head on my chest, and rub his back. He's out within minutes.
Avatar f tn the different between newborn and size 1 is that one is longer in the front so I just fold it down like they would do if you had a premie to big for newborns. this was I know I will always use them up.
