Avatar n tn I am 47, female, with history of heart disease and diabetes Type II. Have had acid reflux for a couple years, controlled fairly effectively with protonix. However, for the past 9 months it's gotten severe, daily, and symptoms are after I eat something, worse in evenings. Have had H-pylori, upper GI, endoscopy--nothing significant. Ultrasound of thyroid too. Nothing works, have tried omeprazole, famotidine, reglan, antacids, ranitidine, and others.
Avatar m tn I was diagnosed with Gerd last spring and was put on Ranitidine 150 mgs twice daily. Later found out that I had H. Pylori, had this cleared up after suffering with it most of the summer. I figured that was what caused the GERD, was later put on zantac 150 mgs, however, haven't really been taking meds. However, of late noticed that I've been coughing and find myself always clearing my throat, of which is starting to get annying.
Avatar m tn Welcome to the gastroenterology community! What are the Librax and Motilium for? Do you still have gastritis? If you don't have H Pylori or gastritis anymore then I'm confused why you are on medications. Do you have any other medication problems?
Avatar m tn Your son will need to take a combination of medications (under medical supervision) like a proton pump inhibitor such as omeprazole, lansoprazole or pantoprazole empty stomach in the morning and an antacid gel after meals or H-2 blocker such as ranitidine for complete relief. Possibility of H pylori infection too should be looked into by a carbon urea breath test and a combination antibiotic tried.
Avatar n tn It can also be caused by drinking too much alcohol, prolonged use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) such as aspirin or ibuprofen, or infection with bacteria such as Helicobacter pylori (H. pylori). Ask your mother in law to eat small nutritious meals at frequent intervals instead of a heavy single meal. Exercise frequently and take dinner atleast 2 hrs prior to bedtime. Also raise the head end of the bed by 2 blocks.

Avatar m tn I got the test done again about a month back and was tested positive for H Pylori again. And I am going thru the treatment all over again. I am not a regular smoker but have a drink every night. No Blood Pressure, no Diabetes, no Heart ailment and have never been hospitalised for any ailment. I recently learnt from the internet that Manuka Honey is very effective against H Pylori. Is it true?
Avatar m tn You will be surprised to know the bacteria responsible for GERD, heart burn, acid reflux etc called Helicobacter Pylori or H pylori can cause hives. This bacteria is found in stomach area that is strongly linked with gastric and duodenal ulcer. Antibiotics given to clear up the bacteria also of the hives. Avatar m tn This is usually caused by H pylori infection, and in your case you are tested negative for it. However, the possibility of H pylori infection increases since you have enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes usually caused by Helicobacter jejunitis, This is also often the cause of abdominal pain. So, you should be re-tested for H pylori infection. Generally treatment with antibiotics and probiotics are enough to take care of this.
Avatar m tn Yes H-Pylori can cause bad chest pain, the pain is coming from the esophigus, which is just to the left of the center of your chest, if you are certain you have H-Pylori, the pain is caused by excess stomach acid, you need to get treated as H-Pylori is a nasty bacteria, it lays dorment in most people and is held in check by your stomachs good bacteria, although when you take an Anti-biotic treatment for an infection, it kills off the good bacteria and H-Pylori takes over and if left untrated fo

1969859 tn?1325813286 H pylori is a kind of bacteria. It's known for causing stomach ulcers and may make a person more likely to get have stomach cancer (I've read mixed things on it). The stomach ulcers are extremely painful and cause indigestion, which could lead to heart burn. I'm unsure about any other kinds chest pains H pylori can give you, but heart burn can be mistaken for chest pains. Maybe someone was meaning heart burn or confused the two.
Avatar m tn Hello Everyone, I am 38 years old, I have been suffering from the IBS for few years now, but I was able to manage the symptoms so far, until last year when I started feeling heartburn, after consulting with an internist I was diagnosed positive for H Pylori(UBT Test), the doctor advised to treat it using triple therapy(Pantazol 40mg, Ospamox 1000mg, Avalox 400mg) for seven days, I managed to take it only for 4 days, then I agreed with the doctor to stop it because I was having very strong side e
