520191 tn?1355639002 I never realized how serious it was before and when I arrived at the hospital the doctors where shocked i was allergic to ranitidine as it can be given for allergic reactions. I don't want to be the only one as it makes it harder as the doctors are always amazed. So what i want to know if you or any one you know also allergic to ranitidine weather mild or serious?
Avatar n tn Began having some type of allergic reaction 12/16/02. Bumps around tongue, few whelps on face and swelling of face, throat and hands feeling faint. Doc. told me to take tagamet and periactin for swelling and itching.H ave been to seen doc. 3 times. Stopped taking protonix for 2 wks. I have started taking the protonix again and the allergic symptoms seem worse. Doc. feels it may be a food allergy instead of the drug.
Avatar n tn Hi, Asian flush can be differentiated from alcohol intolerance or allergy based on the absence of hives and other generalized symptoms. Pepcid AC will not be of much help in reducing or countering the allergic reactions caused by alcohol. This is because famotidine works at the H2 receptor and allergic reactions are mediated via the H1 receptor. Though both are histamine receptors, their mechanism of activation and agonists are different, to a large extent.
Avatar n tn does n e 1 ever had any suspision that u smellt...i kno i did for a while and i thoguht that is tha reason for the strange reactions from people.
Avatar n tn These are a special type of antihistamine which are more effective in the stomach, but they do have some effect on systemic allergic reactions. I have heard of using ranitidine for this purpose more frequently. You may want to talk to her doctor about supplementing the Allegra with benadryl when she starts itching. Liquid benadryl takes effect very quickly and greatly reduces my itching when I have it.
7718987 tn?1393615000 I am a pretty healthy 25 year old male and have been out of work for 4 weeks because of persistent nausea. I also become fuller quicker, and I noticed I have been burping huge burps, usually after eating or drinking, but sometimes I’ll get these huge burps out of nowhere, and I never had that before. The nausea is kind of like when you eat too much, and I don't notice it too much when I'm at home. If I want to go somewhere, it gets worse most of the time.

Avatar n tn Last week I took a tylenol instead, and one pill of ranitidine. The purple spot appeared again. Which of these drugs would have cause the purple spot, do you think? What can I take instead for headaches? Also - could this be related to an exercise allergy - when I walk a lot lately my thighs get hive like reactions - could be laundry detergent though? And I am not sure is consumption of spinach or broccoli could be related? Thank you for any advice you could provide.
Avatar m tn I've been on Xolair for almost right years for allergic asthma and have rec'd as an extra perk the great help it has for my chronic urticaria. Only side effects I've had were headache the first two months and occasional injection site discomfort. I receive 2 shots every two weeks and if I'm even a few days late the hives come back...the more late I am the worse I get. It has been a miracle drug for both the allergic asthma and hives.
Avatar n tn Your physician can make a referal to a psychiatrist. Allergic reactions are very uncommon with medications like Prozac and other antidepressants for the record. Good luck.

Avatar n tn Too little is known, apparently. Wish I could talk to someone who has it. I also have severe allergic reactions to antibiotics, so I get concerned every time I have to be in the hospital. Those places are full of bacterial infections, and I've nearly died several times from antibiotic allergic reactions.
Avatar n tn I then started in December with a slimming cream sold mixed with a self-tanning product. I used it regularly during weekdays for some 3 weeks. On Christmas eve I got hives, diarrhea, vomitting, since then 3 more times and the last time it ended in an anaphylactic shock with unconsciousness and an ambulance trip to hospital. Until now all food tests are negative so we search for the trigger.
Avatar m tn oral steroids in more severe cases and bronchodilators in cases of difficulty in breathing and wheezing. These medications all help to relieve short term symptoms of allergic reactions. However, there is a way of preventing the long term symptoms of allergies. This is through a process known as immunology, more commonly referred to as an allergy shot. Ranitidine is taken in gastritis or gastro esophageal reflux disease.
Avatar f tn One day my 57 yr. old boyfriend woke up covered in large hives all over the lower part of his body. The next day the top half of his body. It now covers the whole body. When he first broke out he went to the doctors and found out he had a sugar reading in the 400's. Three months prior his sugar was normal. He also has coughing fits and now it is getting unbearable. He was put on meds for the diabetes, and zyrtec(?sp.) & benedryl .
Avatar n tn I figured out it was hives and started re-evaluating any new products or food that might be causing allergic reactions. None came to mind. Feb. 24, 2011—My 42nd birthday. I distinctly remember feeling my top lip tingling and asking my husband if it was swelling. His eyes widened and his “OH MY GOSH” sent me flying to a mirror. It was swelling before eyes!!
Avatar m tn It turns out that the nexium had some very bad side effects(Jaundice, yellowing of urine, dizziness) and my doctor told me i might be having allergic reactions to it so he took me off it and put me on Ranitidine and also is requesting me to get an endoscopy as he believes it could be a reflux diesese. Every night when i eat a big meal which isn't very much anymore i get really bad reflux and find it very hard to breath for at least 45 minutes after eating.
Avatar n tn BUT, the dr says that allergic reactions typically result in rash, fever, vomiting - all of which Nathan does not have. She wanted to wait it out until his 2mo checkup, because she says gastro issues typically begin to work themselves out around 2mo. She said if not by then, she'll consider a formula change. Thanks again for your reply. Is your DS getting better?
Avatar f tn As soon as you eat or drink sth which contains histamine, your body reacts with an allergic reaction. And there you are. Your symptoms. You should go to see an allergist for a common blood test. If you get tested positive to histamine I can reccomend you Daosin. That's what I got recommended within other forums and I'm really happy about it.
Avatar f tn An allergy specialist may be able to help you detect allergic reactions. In the meantime for relief from your symptoms you could do warm salt gargles and take OTC antihistamines. Hope this helped and do keep us posted.
Avatar n tn Also my excessive sneezing and allergic reactions has stopped to an occasional stuffed nose. However the radiating burning-like pain on my right shoulder blade is still there, and now it seems to have a mind of its own - it comes and goes throughout the day, but definitely there after eating. Add to that, since I have finished the antibiotics, I have been getting frequent (not consistent) night sweats (not very drenched just around my stomach).
563594 tn?1309586732 I had the runs for 3 months after detox last time, my dr said it was bc I had my gullbladder out and people without gallbladder are more prone to having the runs, I'm sure you will be fine in a few days. If there's a possible time frame on anything bad inevidable I exceed the longest possibility. LOL I've always been that way. I was 21 and in good physical shape when I had my surgery, I was sick for a year cuz thats not something they check for in such a young thin girl.
Avatar f tn Ray- This is great news! Like many here I'm sure, I login just about everyday to see if there's anything new to try. And like you, I've had minimal success with natural supplements. Diet and exercise seem best, but it's just so hard to maintain. I often times try to simplify it when I'm thinking about it, use an Occam's razor approach i.e. "Well if I'm causing allergic reactions, what's the simplest explanation for why". Leaky gut, Candida, etc. all sort of makes sense?
Avatar m tn After all this, I took matters into my own hands and after days and days of research on the internet, I found a solution tha works for me. ENZYMES!! They do the digestion for you. I no longer have the debilitating heart burn of acid reflux. It's totally gone! The ones I take are from a company called Enzymedica and they are wonderful! They're also all natural, no artificial anything.
Avatar f tn I am 51 years old and just got tested for allergies. I am highly allergic to trees and grasses. It was suggested that I get allergy shots. I know that allergy shots cause a histamine release that dilates blood vessels and could potentially cause a drop in blood pressure. Is there any information out there if people with POTS should or should not get allergy shots?
