Weight gain he discussed is caused by long term use of prednisone. A few lose weight while others gain. That is why it gives people "moon face." ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
I’ve been having cramps and major bloating feelings super emotional but no period. I am on a low dose of Zoloft and ranitidine for acid reflux but that has never interrupted anything. I was also on antibiotics and Tylenol with codeine for some tooth issues about 2 weeks ago but I’m finished with that. I just feel bloated and look huge. If anyone has any suggestions of what this could be besides pregnancy. How much longer should I wait? The month is almost over.
Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
Our cat was diagnosed with IBD in April, she has been on prednisilone since then, is now on Flagyl and is now also on ranitidine. She has lost a lot of weight and continues to do so. She is now off her food but drinks a lot, she had had blood tests which came back normal. I want her to find a food that she likes but is becoming more difficult to find one she like. Any advice, the cat is 15years old.
My doctor prescribed me Ranitidine cause I was having bad heart burn and acid reflux and apparently you eat to get rid of the heart burn. It worked for me. I'm not sure if you have the sane situation. Another thing that helped me was getting out of the house (friends, movies, walks, etc) cause then you're preoccupied and not thinking of food!
I'm also doing the iv floods at home also and taking slots of pills for my nausea and some time it helps and some times it doesnt and I'm also losing a lot of weight and I have to take blood thinners for a blood clot I have and I'm also at risk of having a heart attack or stroke
ok, try and exersice more often, it helps ith gas, the numbness is probaly due to you aining weight, think of it as now there are more places for the blood to travel and the pump(heart) cant pump it fast enogh to all areas.
Can those to associated with stomach problems too? And, regarding your comments about weight gain and distension. I thought I read one time, that highly compressed gas in the abdomen can cause weight gain too. Because as my stomach gets more distended, I'll gain around two pounds and the abdomen is hard, not sloshy from water. And my doc said it wasn’t water. Finally, if the stomach, why would I have symptoms, yet show nothing on the endoscopy?
For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
I had severe nausea for a long time and lost a ton of weight from it. So many doctors kept telling me its just anxiety. I finally had a complete blood workup and stool tests. The stool tests came back positive with a fructose intolerance and another test showed a lactose intolerance. If you didn't get a small bowel biopsy done, gluten intolerance could still be a culprit. Gluten intolerance doesn't always show up in bloodwork. Have you gone to an actual gi doctor?
I have 10 month old twin boys that were born 9 weeks early and have suffered from reflux since birth. They have been on domperidine, ranitidine and carobel ever since. We have managed to ween them from the domperidine which seemend to go ok only a little bit of sick. With advice from our paed we have recently taken them off the ranitidine but ever since they have been up all night , uncomfortable and suffering from a sever cough.
I made huge life style changes and reduced my weight from 195lbs to 145lbs. Changed my diet and included good amount of vegetables. Since 2008, I moved from Nexium to Ranitidine. Also, from 2010, I take Ranitidine as needed instead of taking them every morning an hour after my Thyroid medicine. I have been doing pretty good since then. I have been doing bootcamp since 2011 and I work out 4 days (1 hr, early morning).

I also went to the doc for a lump on my inner left buttock. The doc prescribed my antibiotics and ranitidine. I took the antibiotics and the lump/bump went away, but I never took the ranitidine. About one week ago, I drank some beer and as I drank the beer my stomach started hurting, but I kept drinking (a lot). The next day my stomach started hurting bad! I had a sharp pain and super nauseous. I had a bowel movement (diarrhea) and my stomach feel better.
This is the time in your life more than ever that you should be eating healthy and exercising regularly. Expect to gain weight ; that is healthy and necessary for most women, but if the gain happens too quickly you MUST Work with your OB to ensure that you are as healthy as possible.
I would really listen to Alaysha's advice personally.. She's a model and one of the most stunning pregnant women I've ever seen, so I'd follow her rules for healthy weight gain personally lol.
I have taken quite a bit of different antibiotics back in May. I have stopped taking it a about 3 weeks ago, maybe longer and noticed that I have a hard time gaining weight now. I have had bad anxiety and depression as well recently which may have caused my appetite to go down drastically but when it comes back I start to eat a lot and it doesn't seem like I can gain weight like I used too.
