Sorry - if this is the incorrect section, I'm unsure where to put this. This is a sinus and respiratory related question.
I am a male, I am currently 24, and am at around 265 lbs.
For a good history of all my recent problems, I'll start about two or three years ago:
Around three years ago, I got lyme disease. The hospital put me on Doxycycline, then because that started ripping up my stomach they put me on Nexium.
ve been to my general physican 3x in the last month and a half and was sent to an allergist. I saw the allergist 3 days ago who said no more steroids as they have bad side effects. I'm presently on Levocetirizine 5 mg 4 pills a day (20 mg total), Fexofenadine Hydrochlorise 180 mg, Prevacid 30 mg, Ranitidine 300 mg. IT'S NOT WORKING. Presently, Hives are on my hands- palm, wrists, back of my neck and scalp.
I have been suffering from dermatographia for the last 10 months. I have been on prednisone and 6 different anti histamines that barely help. I've went to 3 immunologist and a dermatologist and everyone tells me there isnt much they can do to find the cause of the problem. They seemed to get worse everytime after prednisone was prescribed. I've been on an anti inflammatory diet, keto diet,candida diet, leaky gut diet, alkaline diet, detox (Green juice) diet and those didnt work either.
I just now understand that Prednisolone (corticosteroid) or Prednisone is an immunosuppressant drug and from what I have read there is a possibility that it may delay the production of antibodies? I want to confirm if there was ever a possibility in a false-negative test result in my case? If no, can I be absolutely certain that I do not need to ever re-test again?

Have a sensitive stomach and get burning pains especially if food has chilly or is strong in acid. Ranitidine has helped but from time to time suffer missing hearbeats. Having given up the drug for a while things improved but stomach started to suffer again and thus the reason to re-start the drug.
ve never been officially diagnosed, just something my GP thought might be bothering me and prescribed me ranitidine... long story short, the ranitidine worked fine (150 mg/2x a day) and I was symptom free within 24 hours. Flash forward to 5 weeks ago, I thought I was developing a bit of a chest cold with some chest tightness. Figured the cough would come along later... funny thing, it never came.
Been in panic attack mode since talking to him today and only have 4 xanax left.This test was done 2 weeks ago and he just called me today and said he will not give me any more xanax because I tested negative for them. I swear I am not taking anything but my prescribed medicines and he knows of all over the counter ones.
For over a month now I have been suffering from stomach pain, nausea, a bit of gas and bloating, and food tasting really weird/gross. I've been taking prescribed antacids for it and lots of generic tums. A similar thing like this occurred a month ago, however, my stomach only hurt when I touched the very lower portion of it then. Today my stomach hurts when I touch it mostly in the middle and when I don't touch it. The pain feels like the inside of my stomach is just raw.
About a year ago I developed what I thought was the flu. I went to the dr. Who gave me antibiotics. It went away for a few days but then came back. My symptoms were running nose, nasal drainage down my throat filling my lungs with gunk, and subsequent cough. After 3 more trips to my family Dr. and three more, and different antibiotics, I demanded something was wrong and I'm not taking any more antibiotics. I went to see an ENT and he said it was my deviated septum causing the problems.
ve been paranoid ever since I learned that Ranitidine had been recalled due to a link to cancer. Is a 2 month dose of Ranitidine something to worry about?
you could try looking up those drugs online and see what they say about hurting baby. i can tell you that buscopan is a muscle relaxant and that that shouldn't hurt your future baby. i have been on ranitidine, still have some i think. but i had heart palpitations with it. but i am really glad to hear its working for you. because of my experience with it i would definitely suggest talking to your doctor about it.
but my main suggestion would be sort things out with your body first.
Now, two years later my gastritis symptoms have come back (heartburn and nausea), and I read somewhere that I can take omeprazole AND ranitidine on the same day (but not the same time) so I've been taking the 20 mg Omeprazole in the am before breakfast and a 75mg ranitidine in the pm before dinner, which has worked quiet well.
The doctor tried me on Ranitidine instead but it made me sick and hes tried me on Cimetedine but acid still came up. Now Im on 2 Pantoprazoles,for the time being.
The H2-receptor antagonists such as cimetidine and ranitidine may help control symptoms either prophylactically or by lessening symptoms during an attack.
Tricyclic antidepressants such as doxepin, also are often potent H1 and H2 antagonists and may have a role in therapy, although side effects limit their use. For very severe outbreaks, an oral corticosteroid such as Prednisone is sometimes prescribed. You would need to taper off the steroids gradually.
At that time, I was finally given a shot, and that really helped, and the hives went away-I took the Prednisone for the weekly pack, and some kind of acid reducer, and Zertec. This episode that I am now experiencing, I have not received a shot, I was told to take Chlorpheniramine Maleate (I use Sinus Allergy PE), and this seems to work much better than Zantec. I was put on the Prednisone week pack about 5 weeks ago, and as soon as I was off the pack, the hives came back.
Some doctors have felt that Fibromyalgia is, basically, un or under-treated hypothyroidism, since Fibro and hypothyroidism share many symptoms and many/most of the symptoms go away if the patient is treated adequately with thyroid hormones.
From the reading I've done, there's no benefit of taking ranitidine for EBV when mononucleosis is active, therefore, I can see no benefit of it 15 yrs later, either.
To verify the side effects were caused by the ranitidine I would stop for a few weeks and use TUMS instead. I repeated this cycle several times. The symptoms would go away each time I was off the ranitidine for a week or so. I also noticed when taking TUMS that I only need to take less than one tablet for it to be effective (say about 500 mg /day. Occasionally 750mg). One question I have is would it be better to only take Tums instead - even if I need to use ~500mg each day?
Start with tablet cetrizine 1 tablet twice daily for 15 days; table ranitidine 1 tablet after dinner for 7 days and capsule amoxy-clav thrice daily for 7 days. Avoid smoking.
Because of my remote location, a trip to the ENT was very expensive and I declined to go. Eventually it did clear up and heal and go away, and I went on with my life.
Fast forward to last week, I've been feeling a bit stressed and noticed my heart burn and IBS acting up a bit. I did basically nothing for it, hoping it would just go away. The post nasal drip / throat clearing and dysphagia started again a few days ago.
