Nope, nothing to worry about haha, I forgot why I didn't get the Zyban, I still might just for my anxiety. In a way I didn't wanna keep smoking for the 2 weeks while on Zyban because I don't have the money to buy cigarettes, so I just did it cold turkey.

I smoked when I was younger too. Here in the USA, we have a patch. That helps. Dr can prescribe zyban & that's supposed to help too.
When I quit, I did not use that stuff though. This is what I did. I bought some straws. Then I cut them to the length of a cigarette. I took them with me, so when I felt like smoking I'd hold a straw like a cigarette. I'd even puff or draw
a breath on the straw. Helped to relax me. I'd have something to do with my hand too.
So basically the concept of the medication is that when you quit smoking you quit getting your regular dopamine fix (the brain rewards you for smoking a cigarette by releasing dopamine which makes you feel good.) The zyban, over the course of a few weeks, stops your body from breaking down the natural dopamine in your brain as quickly. So ideally it keeps you from returning to smoking by keeping your dopamine system from crashing.

Did any of you suffer from breathlessness when you were smoking? Did you find that this improved soon after you quit? I have been having this on and off for a couple of weeks which is freaking me out and I'm not sure if anxiety is bringing it on or if it is something more serious. I have unsuccessfully tried to quit and will attempt again until I do.

Hello. I've quit smoking for 3 weeks now after 32 years of smoking. I am using the patch and my doctor put me on zyban when I saw her sept 5 because I couldn't stop crying. The crying has gotten better I feel terrible. I think I'm obsessed with my breathing to the point where I feel it all the time. My chest feels tight. I feel myself inhaling all the time. I've been to the emergency room twice now in two weeks. Chest films taken. They put me on high does prednisone for.

Chantix received FDA approval in 2006; Zyban was approved in 1997. These drugs can be effective tools, but users need to be aware of some potentially serious side effects. You can try that and they are very cheap in some pharmacy's.
the very strange thing is this guy was talking into a recorder most of the time about my case studering asking me some questions. and after all of this said that if not smoking was driving me crazy not in those words exactly that i sould go ahead and have a cigarette seeing whats done is done. like i have no chance and i said that was a strange thing to say and he said that yes him being a lung doctor saying that and then mentioned something about his mother who had lung cancer.
Today I have 1 year of not smoking cigarettes. Woot whew! I used all the stuff to quit including zyban, patches, chantix and nicotine gum, in that order. I’m chewing 3-6 pieces of 4 mg nicotine gum per day. I told myself that after 1 year of being smoke free, I would deal with my gum addiction. The plan of course is to wean myself off of the gum. like i said before its up to you as you know how to take it best... the fact is smoking is decreasing oxygen to your baby, when you quit it imediately increases and is better for you baby so debating which is more stressful on the baby is never ending thats why Drs have mixed answers on this...
some say quitting cold turkey also decreases the risk of miscarriage, premature birth, and other complications... and some say quitting COULD (not WILL) cause a MC due to stress of withdrawl...
I quit smoking using Chantix as well. I am only 1 month non-smoking. I only took Chantix for 9 days as on the 9th day I found out i was pregnant. So I was non smoking and pregnant, to only two weeks later miscarry. I am not too sure if its from the hormones, or from the symptoms of not smoking, but i was extremely irritable, it was almost to the point that everything i that came out of my mouth was snappy. I developed insomnia right from the get go from Chantix.
